【産業上の利用分野】本発明は自動車用シートの側突用
エアバッグ装置を内蔵するサイドサポートに関する。

【従来の技術】自動車用シートのシートバックにおける
車体側部内にエアバッグ装置を内蔵して側突時にエアバ
ッグが展開して乗員を保護するものが知られている。
【０００３】そして、リャシートのシートバックの車体
側部側に、このシートバックと別体なサイドサポートを
設け、このサイドサポート内にエアバッグ装置を内蔵す
るものはサイドサポート、エアバッグとによって側突時
により一層乗員を保護することができる。
【０００４】以上のエアバッグ装置はいずれも金属製上
部開放状の収納体内に収納され、この収納体は発泡体製
パッド内に埋設され、このパッドを支持するフレームと
は別体に形成している。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】従って、前記従来品は
エアバッグ装置を専用の金属製収納体に収納し、この収
納体をパッド内に埋設して固定する必要がある。
【０００６】そのため、構造が複雑化するばかりか、エ
アバッグ装置の内蔵に手数を要する不具合があった。
【０００７】そこで、本発明は特に側突時の乗員の保護
が確実なサイドサポートにおいて、前記従来品の不具合
を除去することを目的とする。

【課題を解決するための手段】以上の目的を達成するた
めの本発明に係るサイドサポートは、該サイドサポート
は車体側に締結する上部開放状の略Ｕ字状フレームと、
このフレームの開放口を閉口し表皮に被覆される発泡体
製パッドとからなり、前記フレーム内には前記側突用エ
アバッグ装置を収納してなることを特徴とする。
【０００９】以上の構成により、エアバッグ収納用の専
用収納体が不要になるため、サイドサポートの構造が簡
単になる。

【発明の実施の形態】以下、本発明の実施の一形態を図
面に基づいて説明する。図１は、本発明に係るサイドサ
ポート（Ａ）付のリャシートを示し、図中（ＳＢ）はそ
のシートバック、（ＳＣ）は同シートクッション、
（Ｂ）はシートクッション（ＳＣ）のサイドサポートを
各々示す。
【００１１】サイドサポート（Ａ）はシートバック（Ｓ
Ｂ）の車体側部側に沿って配設され、シートバック（Ｓ
Ｂ）に対して別体に形成されている。そして、このサイ
ドサポート（Ａ）は車体に締結され、内部にはフレーム
（１）が設けてある。
【００１２】フレーム（１）は図２、図３に示すよう
に、上部開放状のＵ字状で両端が閉口され、略長箱体状
に金属板で形成されている。
【００１３】そして、このフレーム（１）内は補強プレ
ート（１０）によって上下に仕切り、その上部側をエア
バッグ装置（４）の収納部（１Ａ）とし、下部側を緩衝
部（１Ｂ）としている。
【００１４】以上の収納部（１Ａ）内に側突用のエアバ
ック装置（４）を収納し、このエアバッグ装置（４）
は、フレーム（１）の底部方向より挿し込んだボルトな
どの締結材（４０）によって固定されている。
【００１５】収納部（１Ａ）の上方にはワイヤを折曲し
てなる柔軟支持部材（１３）が突設され、これに支持さ
れる発泡体製パッド（不図示）からなるサイドサポート
（Ａ）の上部（Ａ1）におけるクッション性を良好にし
ている。
【００１６】緩衝部（１Ｂ）は図示するように多数の通
孔（１５）…が開孔され、側突時に変形して衝撃を吸収
するように構成されている。
【００１７】なお、フレーム（１）の上底部にはＬ字状
の金属片から上脚部（１１）、下端底部にはワイヤをＵ
字状に折曲した下脚部（１２）が各々溶接されており、
この上、下脚部（１１）（１２）は各々車体側にボルト
などで締結される。
【００１８】以上のフレーム（１）の開口部を塞ぐよう
に、発泡体製パッド（２）がフレーム（１）の外部側壁
に接着され、このパッド（２）における収納部（１Ａ）
に位置する部分にはスリット（２０）を設けてエアバッ
グ装置（４）のエアバッグが外部に向けて展開できるよ
うに構成されている。
【００１９】また、パッド（２）を被覆する表皮（３）
は、内側表皮（３０）と外側表皮（３１）とから構成さ
れ、この両表皮（３０）（３１）の接ぎ合わせ個所（３
