【発明の詳細な説明】 【0001】 【産業上の利用分野】本発明は、耐候性にすぐれた着色
透明塗膜を形成するカラークリヤー塗料に関する。 【0002】 【従来の技術とその課題】従来、着色塗膜面またはメタ
リック塗膜面に、有機着色顔料を含有してなるカラーク
リヤー塗料を塗装することはすでに公知である。該カラ
ークリヤー塗料は着色透明塗膜を形成する塗料であっ
て、これを上記塗面に塗装してなる複層塗膜は、無色の
クリヤー塗料を塗装したものに比べて、色彩的多様化が
可能となり、しかも複層塗膜の深み感も向上するという
効果を有している。しかしながら、該カラークリヤー塗
料の着色剤として透明性の高い有機着色顔料を使用して
いるために、耐候性が十分でないという欠陥を有してお
り、その改良が強く望まれている。この耐候性が改良さ
れると用途が拡大され、深み感向上などの上記効果が十
分に発揮できる。 【0003】 【課題を解決するための手段】本発明は、有機着色顔料
を配合してなるカラークリヤー塗料の耐候性を改良する
ことを目的としており、該カラークリヤー塗料に透明酸
化鉄顔料を特定量配合することによってその目的を達成
できることを見出し、本発明を完成した。 【0004】 すなわち、本発明は、粒径0.1μ以下
の有機着色顔料を含有してなるカラークリヤ塗料におい
て、透明酸化鉄顔料を該カラークリヤー塗料の樹脂固形
分100重量部あたり0.1〜5重量部配合してなるこ
とを特徴とする被塗面の色調が肉眼で透視できる透明性
を有する着色透明塗膜を形成するカラークリヤー塗料に
関する。 【0005】本発明におけるカラークリヤー塗料は、粒
径0.1μ以下の有機着色顔料、樹脂成分および有機溶
剤を主成分とする液状塗料に、透明酸化鉄顔料を特定量
配合してなる。 【0006】該顔料としては、上記樹脂成分および有機
溶剤に溶解もしくは分散する粒径0.1μ以下の有機着
色顔料であればよく、それ自体既知のものが使用でき
る。例えば、Iアゾ系有機着色顔料として、1)溶性ア
ゾ顔料(アゾレーキ顔料):例えば、アセト酢酸アニリ
ド系、ピラゾロン系、βナフトール系、βオキシナフト
エ酸系、βオキシナフトエ酸アニリド系(ナフトールA
S系)など、2)不溶性アゾ顔料:例えば、アセト酢酸
アニリド系、ピラゾロン系、βナフトール系、βオキシ
ナフトエ酸アニリド系(ナフトールAS系)など、3)
縮合アゾ顔料:例えば、アセト酢酸アニリド系、βオキ
シナフトエ酸アニリド系(ナフトールAS系)など、II
フタロシアニン系有機着色顔料として、1)銅フタロシ
アニン顔料:例えば、銅フタロシアニン、ハロゲン化銅
フタロシアニン、スルホン化銅フタロシアニンレーキな
ど、2)無金属フタロシアニン顔料など、III 縮合多環
着色顔料として、アンスラキノン系顔料:例えば、アミ
ノアントラキノン、アントラピリミジン、フラバントロ
ン、アントアントロン、インダントロン、ピラントロ
ン、ビオラントロンなど、さらにペリレン、ペリノン、
キナクリドン、チオインジゴ、ジオキサジン、イソイン
ドリン、キノフタロン、金属錯体などもあげられる。こ
れらは、1種もしくは2種以上併用できる。 【0007】該樹脂成分は、該カラークリヤー塗膜を形
成する主要成分であって、原則として基体樹脂と架橋剤
とからなっている。基体樹脂は、該架橋剤と架橋反応し
うる官能基を1分子中に2個以上有する樹脂であり、例
えば水酸基、グリシジル基、カルボキシル基、アミノ基
などから選ばれた1種以上の架橋性官能基を有するアク
リル樹脂、ポリエステル樹脂、フッソ樹脂およびこれら
の樹脂を基礎とする変性樹脂などがあげられる。また、
架橋剤は、該基体樹脂中の架橋性官能基と架橋反応しう
るものであり、例えばメラミン樹脂(これらは部分的に
もしくはすべてがアルキルエーテル化されているものも
含む)およびポリイソシアネート化合物(イソシアネー
トがブロックされたものも含む)などが特に好適であ
る。これらの基体樹脂および架橋剤は、クリヤー塗料に
おいてそれ自体既知のものが使用できる。 【0008】該樹脂成分における基体樹脂と架橋剤との
比率は、目的に応じて任意に選択できるが、例えば該両
成分の合計重量に基づいて、基体樹脂は50〜90重量
%、特に60〜85重量%が、架橋剤は50〜10重量
%、特に40〜15重量%が、それぞれ好ましい。ま
た、有機着色顔料の配合量は、形成されるカラークリヤ
ー塗膜の透明性が損なわれない範囲内であれば特に制限
ないが、一般的には該樹脂成分100重量部あたり、
0.5〜3重量部が好ましい。 【0009】本発明において、カラークリヤー塗膜の透
明性に関する厳密な定義はないが、該カラークリヤー塗
料が通常、メタリック塗膜面やソリッドカラー塗膜面に
塗装されることが多いので、これらの被塗面に塗装され
た場合に該カラークリヤー塗膜を通じて該メタリック塗
膜面やソリッドカラー塗膜面の色調が肉眼で透視できる
範囲内にあることを透明性があると判断している。 【0010】また、有機溶剤の配合量は、カラークリヤ
ー塗料の調製および塗装などに適する範囲であれば特に
制限されず、例えば固形分含有率で20〜70重量%が
好ましい。該有機溶剤は上記有機着色顔料を溶解または
分散し、樹脂成分を分散もしくは溶解するものであれば
よく、一般的な塗料用有機溶剤が使用できる。 【0011】本発明において使用する透明酸化鉄顔料
は、既知のものが適用でき、具体的には、Fe23
FeOOH、Fe34 などを含有する粉末で、その粒
径は0.001〜0.1μであることが好ましい。粒径
が0.1μより大きくなると透明性が低下するので好ま
しくない。 【0012】本発明のカラークリヤー塗料において、透
明酸化鉄顔料の配合量は、上記樹脂成分100重量部
(固形分)あたり、0.1〜5重量部、好ましくは0.
5〜3重量部であって、0.1重量部より少なくなると
耐候性にすぐれた着色透明塗膜が得られず、一方5重量
部より多くなると塗膜の物理的性能が低下するので好ま
しくない。 【0013】本発明のカラークリヤー塗料は上記した成
分を含有してなるが、さらに無機着色顔料、メタリック
顔料および各種添加剤などを必要に応じて配合すること
ができる。 【0014】また、本発明のカラークリヤー塗料は前記
したごとく、ソリッドカラー塗膜面やメタリック塗膜面
などに塗装することが特に好ましく、その場合、これら
の被塗面と本発明のカラークリヤー塗料の塗装方式は2
コート1ベイク方式または2コート2ベイク方式が適し
ている。 【0015】 【発明の効果】透明酸化鉄顔料を配合することによっ
て、カラークリヤー塗膜の耐候性が著しく向上した。 【0016】本発明に関する実施例について説明する。 【0017】実施例および比較例 表1に示した成分および配合量に基づいて均一に混合し
