【発明の詳細な説明】 【0001】 【産業上の利用分野】本発明は、透明性、金属接着性、
耐ピンホール性に優れた塗膜の形成が可能な粉体加工用
組成物に関する。さらに詳しくは、金属製品の装飾性、
防食性、耐候性を改善するための表面コート材として有
用であり、焼き付け時の酸化、熱劣化等のトラブルのな
い粉体加工用組成物に関する。 【0002】 【従来の技術】エチレン・不飽和カルボン酸共重合体又
はそのアイオノマーは、透明で耐ピンホール性、金属接
着性に優れた樹脂として知られているところから、金属
被覆用の粉体塗装材料として魅力ある原料と言える。例
えば前記樹脂を粉砕して得た粉体を用い実験室的規模で
流動浸漬法によって金属製品表面に塗膜を形成させる
と、透明で金属接着性に優れた防食膜を得ることができ
る。ところが工業的には、前記樹脂をそのまま使用する
と焼き付け時の酸化や熱に基づく劣化が懸念されるた
め、酸化防止剤の使用が必須となる。しかし酸化防止剤
の粉末と樹脂粉体を直接ドライブレンドした場合、流動
浸漬法などにおいては、両者が層分離するため、完全に
混合させた状態で溶着させることは難かしく、したがっ
て酸化防止剤の効果を充分に発揮させることはできな
い。 【0003】樹脂と酸化防止剤を溶融混合して得たペレ
ットを粉砕して得た粉体を用いると酸化防止剤の配合効
果を充分に発揮させることができるが、エチレン・不飽
和カルボン酸共重合体又はそのアイオノマーにこのよう
な処方を採った場合、未だその理由は明らかでないが、
粉体塗装によって得られる塗膜を斜め上方から見た場合
白濁して見え、完全に透明にならないことが見出され
た。 【0004】 【発明が解決しようとする課題】そこで、本発明者ら
は、酸化防止剤を含有する透明塗膜が得られるようなエ
チレン・不飽和カルボン酸共重合体又はそのアイオノマ
ーの粉体塗装用の粉体を得るべく検討を行った。その結
果以下に述べる処方により得られる組成物がその目的を
達成し得ることを見出すに至り本発明に到達した。 【0005】従って本発明の目的は、耐ピンホール性、
金属接着性、透明性が優れた塗膜を酸化や熱に基づく劣
化を伴なうことなく粉体塗装法によって形成することの
できる樹脂組成物粉体を提供することにある。本発明の
他の目的は、劣化を伴なうことなく広く粉体加工によっ
て透明製品を得ることが可能な粉体を提供することにあ
る。 【0006】 【発明が解決しようとする課題】本発明は、不飽和カル
ボン酸含有量が5〜30重量%のエチレン・不飽和カル
ボン酸共重合体又はそのアイオノマーの平均粒径が30
0μm以下の粉体70〜98重量%と、酸化防止剤を含
有し、不飽和カルボン酸含有量が5〜30重量%のエチ
レン・不飽和カルボン酸共重合体又はそのアイオノマー

水マレイン酸などを例示することができ、これらの中で
は、とくにアクリル酸又はメタクリル酸が好ましい。前
記共重合体には、必要に応じ、他の極性モノマー、例え
ばアクリル酸エステル、メタクリル酸エステル、酢酸ビ
ニルなどが共重合されていてもよい。かかる共重合体
は、エチレン、不飽和カルボン酸、必要に応じさらに他
の極性モノマーを、高温、高圧下に共重合することによ
って得ることができる。 【0008】本発明においては、前記共重合体の代わり
に前記共重合体中のカルボキシル基の一部が金属イオン
で中和されているアイオノマーを使用することができ
る。アイオノマーにおける金属イオンとしては、リチウ
ム、ナトリウム、カリウム、マグネシウム、カルシウ
ム、亜鉛などを代表例として挙げることができ、またそ
の中和度は80モル%以下、好ましくは60モル%以下
である。 【0009】前記共重合体又はそのアイオノマーとして
はまた、190℃、2160g荷重におけるメルトフロ
ーレートが1〜500g/10分、とくに10〜200
g/10分のものを使用するのが好ましい。すなわち、
メルトフローレートが非常に小さいものを用いた場合に
は、粉末を製造する場合の粉砕効率が悪くまた粉体塗装
時における造膜性が悪く、均質な塗膜が得難いという欠
点が生ずる。一方、メルトフローレート値が過大のもの
を使用した場合には、粉体塗装時に垂れ下りやドリッピ
ングのトラブルが生じ易く、また生成塗膜の強度が不足
し、脆くなる傾向が現れる。 【0010】本発明においては、前述のエチレン・不飽
和カルボン酸共重合体又はそのアイオノマーの粉体(以
下、主粉体と呼ぶことがある)と、エチレン・不飽和カ
ルボン酸共重合体又はそのアイオノマーに、酸化防止
剤、必要に応じ他の添加剤を配合したものの粉体(以
下、配合粉体と呼ぶことがある)とをドライブレンドす
るものである。配合粉体は、上記共重合体又はそのアイ
オノマーと、酸化防止剤、必要に応じさらに他の添加剤
とを、押出機等の溶融混合装置を用いてブレンドし、こ
れを機械粉砕等の手段により粉砕して得たものである。 【0011】酸化防止剤としては、フェノール系、硫黄
系、リン系のものなど各種のものが使用可能であるが、
とくにフェノール系のものの使用が好ましい。必要に応
じ配合される他の添加剤の代表的なものは、紫外線吸収
剤や光安定剤である。これらの具体名については、11

は0.1〜5重量%、とくに0.2〜5重量%の範囲と
するのが好ましい。また酸化防止剤の他に他の添加剤を

るのが好ましい。酸化防止剤の配合量が過少であると、
劣化防止効果が充分発現できず、またその配合量が過大
となると粉体塗装によって得られる被膜の外観不良や透
明性不良を起こし易くなる。また流動浸漬法による粉体
塗装を行う場合に、密度差による分級を生じ易くなるの
で好ましくない。 【0013】主粉体のエチレン・不飽和カルボン酸共重
合体又はそのアイオノマーと、配合粉体のそれとは、透
明性の点から考え同一のものを用いるのが好ましい。主
粉体及び配合粉体の平均粒径は300μm以下、通常5
0〜300μm、好ましくは100〜200μmの範囲
である。平均粒径が300μmを越えるようなものを用
いると、粉体塗装において均質な塗膜を得ることが難か
しい。 【0014】主粉体と配合粉体の混合割合は、前者70
〜98重量部、好ましくは80〜95重量部に対し、後
者30〜2重量部、好ましくは20〜5重量部である。
配合粉体の混合割合が少なすぎると焼付け時の均一分散
が難かしく、耐熱性不良となるので好ましくなく、また
その混合割合が30重量%を越えると透明性不良となる
ので好ましくない。主粉体と配合粉体の配合割合はま
た、組成物中の酸化防止剤濃度が0.01〜1重量%、
とくに0.02〜0.5重量%となるように選ぶのが良
い。すなわち、酸化防止剤の濃度が小さすぎると耐熱性
が不良となるし、一方、その濃度が高すぎると、ブリー
ドによる外観不良が生じ易く、また高価となるので好ま
しくない。主粉体と配合粉体のドライブレンドは、通常
の粉体混合装置、例えばヘンシェルミキサー、回転式混

粉体を配合させた本発明の組成物は、透明性、金属接着

A press sheet and a powder-coated product were prepared using the powder composition mixed at a weight ratio of 0, and various physical properties such as transparency and adhesiveness were measured. Similarly, when powder was used (Comparative Example 2), good transparency was not obtained, and both the press sheet and the coated product became cloudy. Further, when a powder containing neither an antioxidant nor a weathering agent is used (Comparative Example 3), heat resistance and weather resistance are poor. On the other hand, a product having good transparency can be obtained from the powder composition according to the composition of the present invention, and also excellent in weather resistance and heat resistance,
