Description
The present invention relates to automobile tires and wheels.
Conventional automobile tires and wheels were made with the same diameter on the outside and inside in the axial direction. In addition, in order to give priority to ride comfort in a vehicle, a tire with a small wheel diameter and a high height is used, and when steering performance is important, a tire with a large wheel diameter and a low height is used. A method of selecting the vehicle type according to the required performance has been adopted.
Therefore, it was impossible to satisfy both ride comfort and maneuverability at the same time.
As means for solving the above problems, in order to fuse ride comfort and maneuverability at a high level, it is conceivable to use tires having the same outer diameter and different inner and outer mounting diameters. This is a product that attempts to achieve both ride comfort and maneuverability due to the difference between the inner and outer tire heights. For this purpose, it is necessary to manufacture tires and wheels having different inner and outer diameters.
The present invention solves the above-mentioned problems by providing a proposal regarding the manufacturing method and design guidelines for such tires and wheels.
FIG. 1 shows an embodiment of the present invention. The wheel rim diameter in the figure is 17 inches on the right side (outside when mounted on the vehicle, (2) in the figure), and left side (inside of mounting on the vehicle, in the figure). 1)) is 15 inches, and the tire is 235 / 50R17 on the right side and 215 / 65R15 on the left side.
When manufacturing this tire, the rigidity of the sidewall is ensured by adopting steel wires and Kepler fibers with different diameters at the right and left sidewalls and at both ends in the carcass. Tires can be produced, and ride comfort and maneuverability can be combined at a high level.
Fig.-2, Fig.-3, and Fig.4 are wheels for mounting tires with different inner diameters on the left and right, respectively, but are examples of wheel structures that use aluminum light alloys, and press inexpensive steel plates. The structure of the formed steel wheel is similar to these.
FIG. 2 is a cross-sectional example of an integrated wheel formed by casting or forging using aluminum.
Basically, it follows the cross-sectional shape of a 5-degree taper deep bottom rim defined by the Japan Automobile Tire Manufacturers Association, which allows the tire bead part to be mounted on a wheel with the same design as a conventional tire. Fig. 3 shows the inner rim (back rim, ▲ 1 ▼ in the figure) made of aluminum alloy stretched material, formed by spinning, roll forming or pressing, and the outer rim (outer rim, ▲ 2 ▼ in the figure) It is a two-piece wheel that uses aluminum alloy and is integrally formed with a center disk that is an attachment part to a vehicle by casting or forging. After the inner rim and the outer rim are fitted in the portion (3) in the figure, they are integrated by welding. As a result, the outer rim and the center disk are shared, and only the inner rim can be manufactured and assembled with different diameters and widths, so that variations can be increased with little investment. On the other hand, it is also possible to share the inner rim and manufacture and assemble outer rims and center disks of different designs and sizes, and the same effect can be expected.
Fig. 3 shows an inner rim (1 in the figure), outer rim (2 in the figure), aluminum, which is formed and manufactured separately by spinning, roll forming or pressing, using aluminum alloy wrought material. It is an example of a three-piece wheel constituted by a center disk ((3) in the figure) manufactured by a new alloy casting or forging.
Among the components, the inner rim (1) and outer rim (2) are integrated by welding (5), and the integrated rim and center disk (3) are assembled by bolts and nuts (4). It is done.
In this way, the outer diameter of the tire is the same, and the mounting rim diameter is different between the right side and the left side, thereby making it possible to achieve both ride comfort and maneuverability.
Also, as can be seen from Fig. 1, when mounting the tire on the wheel, mounting the tire on the wheel from the left side facilitates mounting work compared to the conventional tire of the same inner diameter used for the same rim diameter wheel. Accordingly, it is possible to significantly reduce the mounting work time.
In addition, since the diameter of the back and front of the tire is different, it is not necessary to reversely attach the back and front of the tire with one side polished as in the conventional case, which contributes to improvement in safety.
