About 25% of the glucose isomerizes to mannose. However, in this method, generally, molybdate ions added to the aldose aqueous solution must be removed from the reaction solution after the isomerization reaction, and if the collected molybdate ions are flowed as wastewater, it poses a pollution problem. Therefore, the production process was complicated and impractical, and was not suitable for industrial implementation. As a method for improving the disadvantages of the above method, Japanese Patent Publication No.
As described in U.S. Pat. No. 40700 and U.S. Pat. No. 4,029,878, "Amberlyst A-26" strong basic anion exchange resin MR form (U.S.A.
A method is known in which molybdic acid supported on Haas Co. is used as an aldose isomerization catalyst. According to this method, molybdate ions are hardly mixed into the reaction solution after the isomerization reaction, so that the step of removing molybdate ions can be omitted. However, such an anion exchange resin carrying molybdic acid is disclosed in JP-B-63-12.
As described in JP-A-071, the activity rapidly decreases with use, and thus it cannot be said that it is suitable for industrial practice. That is, after adding an anion exchange resin carrying molybdic acid to an aldose aqueous solution and causing a heating reaction, an anion exchange resin carrying molybdic acid is recovered from the reaction solution, and this is added to a new aldose aqueous solution. When the heating reaction was repeated, the activity of the ion-exchange resin as a catalyst was rapidly reduced, so that the ion-exchange resin could not actually be recycled as a catalyst.

Therefore, even when isomerizing glucose using a catalyst in which molybdic acid is supported on an ion exchange resin, the catalytic activity does not rapidly decrease, and is suitable for industrial implementation.
A method for isomerization has been desired.

Was passed through the upper part of the column, and then thoroughly washed with water. Next, 300 g of a 10% aqueous solution of ammonium molybdate
Was passed through at a rate of 50 ml / h, and then thoroughly washed with water. The column was placed in a water bath maintained at 95 ° C., and a 50% by weight aqueous solution of crystalline glucose (purity: 99.8%) was passed through the column at a rate of 150 ml / h from the bottom, and the liquid flowing out from the top was analyzed. Although the isomerization rate of glucose to mannose is high at the beginning of the passage, the isomerization rate gradually decreases. In this example, when the isomerization ratio became 30% or less, the flow rate was increased to 125 ml / 100 ml / 75 ml / h
The isomerization rate was increased to 30% or more by gradually decreasing the amount to 0 ml. The analysis was performed by liquid chromatography [column: SCR-101N, manufactured by Shimadzu Corporation]. Table 1 shows the results. In addition, the analysis value of the isomerized liquid indicates an average value of the isomerized liquid at each flow rate. In addition, the total flow rate was 26.4 liters (16.

Glucose was isomerized to mannose in the same manner as described above.
However, the flow rate of the aqueous glucose solution at the start of the isomerization was started according to the flow rate suitable for each resin. Table 5 below shows the results obtained using the strongly basic anion exchange resin A-26.
Table 6 shows the results obtained by using the strongly basic anion exchange resin EA-137, and Table 7 shows the results obtained by using the weakly basic anion exchange resin SBR.
