図１はこの考案に係るメガネ用モダンの一実施例の縦断面図であり、図中１は合成樹脂を素材としたモダン本体であり、棒状をなし、後端側には拡径部２が形成されており、前端の小口３側からは軸芯に沿って長孔４が形成されており、この長孔４内にテンプル５の後端寄りの部分が挿入される様になっている。なお、このモダン本体１をエラストマーによって構成しても良く、その場合には装着感が良好となる。そして、このモダン本体１の外周には小口３側から所望間隔で複数の縮径部６が形成されている。なお、この実施例においては、この縮径部６は小口３側から１０ｍｍ間隔で３箇設けられているが、この寸法に限らないことはもちろんである。又、この縮径部６の斜面は曲面状に形成されていることが好ましい。この実施例は上記の通りの構成を有するものであり、長孔４にテンプル５の後端寄りの部分を挿入し、弓形に弯曲せしめて使用に供するものである。この際、モダン本体１は縮径部６の位置で簡単に切断できるので、テンプル５の長さに応じてモダン本体１の長さを自由に変更することが出来る。従って、テンプル５との外観上のバランスを取ることが可能となり、メガネフレームを装用者の頭部の寸法にフィットさせつつ、外観上バランスの取れたメガネフレームとすることが出来る。又、切断は縮径部６の位置で行われるので、別途切断面を仕上げ加工する必要はなく、作業が極めて簡単である。更に、縮径部６が長さの目安となるので、切断作業の際の長さの確認が容易であり、熟練者でなくとも手軽に加工作業を実施することが出来る。又、テンプル５の長さは変更せずにモダンの長さだけを変えるといったデザイン上の変化も容易に実現出来、極めて高い実用的価値を有する。   FIG. 1 is a longitudinal sectional view of an embodiment of a modern for glasses according to the present invention.
