2. Description of the Related Art Generally, a printing paper used in a label printer is a label roll in which a label of a predetermined size is stuck on a strip-shaped release sheet (backing paper) and wound in a roll shape. The release sheet attached to the adhesive surface is uneconomical because it remains when the label is attached and is discarded, and has the problem that it requires time and effort to attach the label to the release sheet. Therefore, recently, one side of the web is an adhesive surface provided with a pressure-sensitive adhesive,
A label roll was developed in which the other side was used as the release surface, and the adhesive surface was directly in contact with the release surface, and the label roll was wound into a roll shape. After that, it is proposed in Japanese Patent Publication No. 7-2493 to cut the length of one sheet with a sharp cutter and issue a label.

According to the first aspect of the present invention, the paper perforated at predetermined intervals in the length direction is sandwiched between the front and rear portions of the perforation by two sets of paper transport means on the upstream side and the downstream side. When the paper supported horizontally between the paper transport means on the upstream and downstream sides is pressed by a pressing member, the weak perforated portion is torn and the label is cut and formed. Therefore, the label is cut without the adhesive provided on the back side adhering to the contact surface of the pressing member with the paper. or,
The sheet conveying means disposed on the upstream side serves not only as a mere sheet conveyance but also as a printing unit. And claim 2
In the case of the configuration shown in the figure, the transport speed of the paper transport unit disposed downstream of the pressing member is higher than the transport speed of the paper transport unit for nipping and transporting the paper located upstream of the pressing member. The front and rear portions of the eyes are pulled, so that cutting by pressing the pressing member is more easily performed. Further, in the case of the configuration described in claim 3, after the upstream paper conveying means also serves as a printing section and predetermined printing is completed, one printed sheet is torn from the perforation by the pressing member. Then, the upstream paper conveying means is driven by the control means in the direction of rewinding the paper, whereby the leading end of the continuous paper on the roll side is returned to the position of the upstream paper conveying means, and printing of the next label is performed. This is performed from near the leading edge of the paper.

When the pressing member 12 is linear as shown in FIG.
Although the contact position of the sheet 12 with respect to the sheet 1 moves from the leading end side to the base side, when the contact of the pressing member 12 with the sheet 1 is performed simultaneously over the entire width of the sheet 1, the pressing member 12 is used.
Is formed as shown in FIG. That is, the position (point of force) rotated by the solenoid and the position (point of action) at which the sheet 1 is cut in contact with the paper 1 are not in a straight line, a step is provided between the two, and the pressing member 12 is actuated by the action of the solenoid 14. The cut portion is moved in the vertical direction in a horizontal state. In the case of such a configuration, since the pressing member 12 simultaneously abuts over the entire width of the perforation formed on the sheet, if the sheet itself is easily torn, the pulling force acts uniformly on the entire perforation, and the direction in which the sheet is torn. Is determined, the possibility that the portion other than the perforations is torn is reduced. In the drawing, reference numeral 17 denotes a label holding roller for holding the printed label 1 'conveyed by the paper conveying means 1, 18 denotes a second sensor for detecting whether or not the holding roller 17 has the label 1', 19 Is a guide roller.

Next, the operation of the above-described label printer will be described.
A member disposed above the paper 1 in the printing unit 4 is separated from a lower member, the leading end of the label paper 1 loaded in the case 1 is pulled out, and the guide roller 19 and the first sensor 9 are bonded via the guide roller 19 and the first sensor 9. The paper frame 1 is placed on the platen roller 401 with the surface facing down, and then the casing 11 is rotated downward so that the leading end of the sheet 1 is held between the platen roller 401 and the thermal head 402. When an instruction to feed out the sheet 1 is given from an operation unit (not shown), the central processing unit (CP)
U) starts the motor 5 and drives the printing unit 4 via the drive mechanism 8.
When the platen roller 401 is driven to pull out and convey the paper 1 and the first sensor 9 detects the notch 102 of the paper 1, the paper 1 is conveyed therefrom for a predetermined length and the motor 5 is stopped at the printing start position. Thus, the setting of the label paper 1 is completed and the label paper 1 is ready for printing.

Next, when an instruction to print and issue predetermined data on the label paper 1 is given, the second sensor 18 confirms that the label holding roller 17 has no label 1 ', and
And print data is output to the thermal head 402 to perform printing on the paper 1 for one label. Then, after the printing is completed, a predetermined amount of conveyance is performed so that the perforation 101 provided on the rear side of one printed sheet is located immediately below the pressing member 12, and the motor 5 is stopped. You. (See FIG. 7) When the perforation 101 of the sheet 1 is positioned immediately below the pressing member 12 and the conveyance of the sheet is stopped, the electromagnetic solenoid 14 is turned on and the plunger 14 'is retracted.
Is pushed upward, and the pressing member 12 connected to the connecting piece 12 is rotated about the pin 13, and the perforation
Press on 101. Then, the pressing member 12 abuts on the sheet 1 from the leading end side toward the base end side, so that the cutting of the sheet 1 is performed by concentrating the pressing force on a part of the perforation 101 (the right end of the sheet in FIG. 4). The cutting is performed by sequentially moving the cutting positions.
Therefore, even if the pressing force is relatively weak, it is possible to sufficiently cut from the perforation 101. When the solenoid 14 is turned on for a predetermined time and then turned off, the pressing member 12 is returned to the initial position by the elastic force of the spring 16 mounted on the plunger 14 '(the state shown by the solid line in FIG. 2).

FIGS. 10 to 12 show another modified example of the paper transport means and the printing section. FIG. 10 shows the upstream paper transport means as a printing section 4 comprising a platen roller 401 and a thermal head 402.
And a conveying means 3 'comprising a pair of upper and lower rollers similar to that shown in the previous embodiment is disposed downstream of the printing section 4 without using the same. In this case, the pinching force of the paper by the upper and lower rollers can be set regardless of the print quality. FIG. 11 is a further modification of FIG. 10 described above, in which the printing unit 4 is arranged downstream of the sheet conveying means 3,
The predetermined printing is performed after one label 1 'is cut from the sheet 1. Further, FIG. 12 is a further modification of FIG. 11, in which the belt 20 is wound around a lower roller 302 constituting the downstream paper conveying means 3 and a platen roller 401 constituting the printing unit 4. In this method, one label 1 'cut from the paper 1 is placed on a belt 20 coated on the surface with a release material, and is conveyed and printed. In this case, (a) the non-printable area can be eliminated. (b)
Since there is no need to return the next label to the printing position after printing,
The processing speed of label issuance is fast. (c) It is possible to reliably transfer the paper from the cutting position to the printing section, and to cope with labels whose dimensions are less than the length of the belt, and it is not necessary to cut and print at the same time. Label can be issued without any problem. (d) Since the belt can be rotated only by driving the platen roller, a driving mechanism is not required for the sheet conveying means on the downstream side. (e) Since the dispenser 21 can be provided inside the belt downstream of the platen roller, the belt can be folded at an acute angle and the label can be reliably peeled. The advantage is obtained.
In the case where the lower roller 302 constituting the downstream paper conveying means 3 in the first embodiment described above has a structure in which the lower roller 302 can be freely rotated only in the direction of discharging the label 1 ′ by an external force, the above description has been made. The operation of ejecting the label by driving the paper conveying means by the activation of the motor in the operation description can be omitted, and the label can be pulled out by hand. When the printing start position of the paper is performed with a certain space from the leading edge of the paper, the printing start position of the paper may be returned to the printing position of the printing unit after the paper is cut.

According to the label printer of the present invention, the label paper is cut from the perforation by the pressing force of the pressing member, so that the adhesive applied to the label paper is removed by the cutting edge of the cutter. There is no such a problem that the cutting is deteriorated due to the adhesion to the metal, and the cutting ability can be maintained for a long time. Further, since the pressing member has no blade, even if the position of the perforation applied to the label paper is slightly shifted in the front-rear direction with respect to the pressing member, the sheet is not cut at a portion other than the perforation. . In addition, since the printing section including the platen roller and the thermal head also functions as the paper transport means on the upstream side, the configuration can be simplified.

When the speed of the paper transport means on the upstream and downstream sides is configured as in claim 2, it is possible to easily perform cutting by the pressing member by pulling both sides of the perforation. Further, in the case of the configuration described in claim 3, there is an advantage that the printing start position of the next label is close to the leading end position of the sheet, and the non-printable area of the sheet can be reduced without returning the sheet.
