[Prior art] There are several methods for developing photographic light-sensitive materials, such as immersion, spraying, and coating. The most common method is to provide a plurality of tank-type processing tanks in a horizontal series. In this method, a processing liquid is stored and prepared for each, and immersion processing is performed while the photographic photosensitive material is sequentially transported in a U-shape by a transport rack provided in a processing tank.

In addition, a mode in which the stabilization process is performed by a coating method and the other is performed by a tank immersion method or the like, and a mode in which a neutralization process performed as an intermediate process is performed by a coating method and the other is performed by a tank immersion method or the like is also known. These aspects are not different from the conventional method when evaluated from the viewpoint of facilitating maintenance or reducing the installation area.

[Problems to be Solved by the Invention] In the tank immersion method described above, the main part of the transport rack is immersed in the processing solution, but the photographic photosensitive material is transferred to the transport rack in the next step. Since it is located above the liquid level of the processing liquid, the processing liquid lifted by the photographic light-sensitive material being conveyed may adhere to rollers or the like, solidify and denature, and adversely affect processing performance. For this reason, it is necessary to periodically raise the transport rack and perform maintenance such as cleaning, but the maintenance work is considerably complicated.

As described above, in the conventional automatic developing machine, a layout in which the processing units are arranged linearly in a horizontal series is generally used. However, even in the case of other layouts, the processing method in each processing unit is common. Since the system is adopted, the layout of the processing unit is limited, and dissatisfaction remains with the reduction of the installation area and the overall volume.

In general, maintenance is complicated in the immersion type, whether by a transport rack or by slit transport, and if the immersion type is limited to the case of development (color development) processing as in the automatic developing machine of the present invention. The maintenance can be greatly facilitated. In particular, in the case of the non-immersion method, the number of the transport rollers can be extremely reduced, and, for example, such that the cleaning can be performed simply by sprinkling water on the transport rollers by a water sprinkling means periodically. Maintenance can also be facilitated.
