2. Description of the Related Art In order to manufacture a metal welded pipe P by bending a metal strip into a product curvature in the width direction thereof to form a tubular shape, conventionally, as shown in FIG. 8, a plurality of calipers arranged in tandem as shown in a perspective view. The flat metal strip 1 is sequentially bent in the width direction using a roll forming machine provided with a forming roll or a cage roll 10 having a shape, and formed into a tubular shape. In general, a roll forming method in which a butt portion of both side edges of the metal strip 1 is held by a squeeze roll 5 and a continuous line in which a butt portion of the metal band 1 is joined by a butt welding with an arc welding torch 4 or the like is used.

However, in such a conventional method, when the outer diameter of the metal welded pipe P to be manufactured is changed, a roll set such as the forming roll or cage roll 10, a seam guide roll 11, and a squeeze roll 5 is used. Must be replaced with each set of rolls having desired dimensions corresponding to the outer diameter of the metal welded pipe P to be manufactured. This requires a great deal of labor and a long time, so that the production efficiency of the equipment is reduced. Further, it is necessary to prepare each roll set having desired dimensions corresponding to the outer diameter of the metal welded pipe P to be manufactured. There was a disadvantage that it was not economical.

Further, for example, in order to manufacture a thin metal welded pipe in which the ratio t / D of the thickness t to the outer diameter D is about 3 to 20% and the outer diameter is 10 mm or less, the roll set of each roll set is required. Installation position, the distance between the opposing rolls in each roll set,
Extremely high precision is required for the dimensions of the rolls in each roll set, and for example, the distance between the opposing rolls in each set of rolls and the front and back and up and down with respect to the passing direction of the metal band at the same time. It must be installed at the correct position, but it is easy to install it in an eccentric position slightly shifted from this position, especially when the outer diameter of the metal welded pipe to be manufactured is small and the thickness of the metal strip is extremely thin Even if the opposing roll is installed with a slight eccentricity, a step is created at the butting part on both sides of the tubular metal band formed by this roll, and the butting part in the state where this step has occurred is welded. Therefore, there was a defect that the cross-sectional shape of the manufactured metal welded pipe did not form a perfect circle, resulting in a defect on the product.

The present inventors have solved the above-mentioned disadvantages of the prior art and can easily and inexpensively cope with a change in the outer diameter of a metal welded pipe to be manufactured. As a result of various studies to provide a method for manufacturing a metal welded pipe capable of easily and inexpensively manufacturing a thin metal welded pipe, a tapered portion that decreases in diameter from the entry side to the exit side. If a metal band is passed through a through hole of a metal welding pipe manufacturing die in which a circular cross section having a through hole is formed, it is possible to use a large number of rolls to gradually form the metal into a flat plate-like metal. Since the band can be formed into a tubular shape in which both side edges are abutted at once, a metal welded tube for manufacturing a metal welded tube by welding the butted portions of both side edges of the metal band formed in this tubular shape. Production method It was proposed as Japanese Patent Application No. 2-49549.

FIG. 5 shows a sectional view of a method for manufacturing a metal welded pipe having a tapered portion whose diameter decreases in the traveling direction of the metal strip 1, that is, from the entry side to the exit side. A metal-welded tube manufacturing die (hereinafter, may be simply referred to as a die) 2 having a circular through-hole 3 formed therein is prepared, and a normal cold-rolled metal strip for manufacturing a metal-welded tube P is prepared. Or at least one side from a metal band that has been polished such as mirror polishing or hairline polishing, or at least one side has been subjected to a surface treatment such as etching, chemical coloring, ceramic coating, plating, or painting. As shown in FIG. 4, the flat metal strip 1 is made to pass through the through hole 3 of the die 2 through the tapered portion from the entrance side having a larger diameter toward the exit side having a smaller diameter than the entrance side. Accordingly, the two side edges are formed into a tubular shape in a state where the two side edges are abutted at once, and the abutted both side edges are held in a tubular shape by the squeeze roll 5 and arc welding is performed by an arc welding torch 4 or laser welding. As shown in the figure, the outer peripheral edge of the die 2 corresponds to the abutting portion of the metal strip 1 formed in a tubular shape.
In this method, a metal welding pipe is manufactured by irradiating a laser from a laser irradiator 6 for laser welding through a welding through hole 7 pierced through the same diameter section 3a to perform laser welding.

In this method of manufacturing a metal welded pipe, the metal strip 1 which has been subjected to plastic bending with a small-diameter bending roll 8 perpendicular to the longitudinal direction with the inner side of the pipe as the inner side has a longitudinal curvature of zero. By making use of the residual curvature in the width direction caused by the plastic bending and unbending, the metal band 1 is passed through the through hole 3 of the die 2 while being bent to some extent in the width direction. As shown in FIG. 6, for example, as shown in FIG. 6, it is desirable that the cylindrical roll 9 on the entrance side and the axis thereof are parallel to the cylindrical roll 9 on the entrance side and the cylindrical roll 9 on the entrance side. And a cylindrical roll 9 on the output side, which is disposed with a gap therebetween and rotates in the same direction as the cylindrical roll 9 on the input side, and these cylindrical rolls 9, 9
The metal strip 1 was first passed along the cylindrical roll 9 on the entry side and then passed through a gap through a roll group consisting of a small-diameter bending roll 8 arranged in parallel with the axis of the cylindrical roll 9 in close proximity to. Later, the metal strip 1 is bent along the small-diameter bending roll 8, and the curvature in the longitudinal direction is reduced to zero again through the gap. Then, it is made to penetrate through the through hole 3 of the die 2 while being bent to some extent.

In order to carry out such a method for manufacturing a metal welded pipe, first, the tip of the metal strip 1 has a circular cross section having a tapered portion that decreases in diameter from the entry side to the exit side of the die 2. It is necessary to pass through the hole 3. The leading end of the metal band 1 is cut into a tapered shape as shown in FIG. This is performed by fixing the steel wire 12 having a smaller diameter by TIG welding or the like and passing the steel wire 12 through the through hole 3 of the die 2.

However, this method requires an operation of cutting the tip of the metal strip 1 into a tapered shape and an operation of fixing the tip of the metal strip 1 cut into the tapered shape to the steel wire 12 having a small diameter. Therefore, the work is complicated and it takes time for fixing work such as welding, and if the fixing is not sufficiently performed, the fixed portion may come off during the work of inserting and penetrating the through hole 3 of the die 2. Problems that occur,
Since the cross-sectional area of the tip of the metal strip 1 decreases toward the tip, there is a problem that the metal strip 1 is broken when the metal strip 1 is pulled through the steel wire 12 having a small diameter.

In order to carry out the method of the present invention, first, the front end of the flat metal strip 1 is set to a predetermined width W in parallel with the longitudinal direction of the metal strip 1.
The slit is formed into a plurality of slits longer than a predetermined length L, and the tip of the slit portion 1a is focused. Preferably, the slit portion 1a is clamped by the clamp material 1c so that the focused portion does not vary. If this slit width W is too small,
When the tip of 1a is converged, the slit portion 1a of each strip is twisted and broken, and also because the cross-sectional area of the slit section 1a of each strip is small, the slit section is pulled by the stress concentration at the end of the slit section 1a. The risk of breaking at the end of 1a is high, and if it is too wide, the maximum width of the converged portion when the tip of this slit portion 1a is converged is larger than the minimum diameter of the through hole 3 of the die 2. Become dice 2
Cannot be inserted and penetrated into the through hole 3 of the metal strip 1, and is appropriately determined in consideration of the material and thickness of the metal strip 1, the diameter of the metal welded pipe P to be manufactured, and the like. In addition, the length of the slit, from the portion where the slit portion 1a of each strip is not deformed unnaturally and the slit is not provided to the clamp portion when the tip of the slit portion 1a slit in multiple strips is focused. The predetermined length L must be equal to or longer than the predetermined length L to allow the whole to be smoothly deformed.
Is appropriately determined in consideration of the material and thickness of the metal pipe, the diameter of the metal welded pipe P to be manufactured, the slit width W, and the like.

As described above, when the front end of the flat metal strip 1 is slit into a plurality of strips having a predetermined width W and a predetermined length L or more in parallel with the longitudinal direction of the metal strip 1, the predetermined length of the slits is determined. L is, for example, shown in FIG. 2 using a dedicated slitting device.
It is easy and preferable to perform slitting so that they are all the same as shown in Fig. 5, but in this case, when the slit width is narrow, the tension of the slit portion 1a due to the stress concentration at the slit terminal of the slit portion 1a when the slit portion 1a is pulled. There is a risk of breaking at the slit end. As a method of eliminating this danger, a method of slitting so that the slit lengths are not all the same as shown in FIG.
A method can be adopted in which a round hole 1b for preventing stress concentration is formed in the slit terminal.

After the tip of the slit portion 1a is thus focused and preferably clamped by the clamp material 1c, the metal band 1 is inserted through the through-hole 3 of the die 2 for manufacturing a metal welded pipe from the focused portion and penetrated. Is gripped by the take-up device and pulled to complete the threading.

In this way, the tip of the flat metal band 1 is
In parallel with the longitudinal direction, a plurality of slits having a predetermined width W and a predetermined length L or more are formed. The tip of the slit portion 1a is focused, and the metal band 1 is formed from the focused portion into a through hole of a metal welded pipe manufacturing die 2. When the metal strip 1 is gripped and pulled by the take-off device, the cross-sectional area of the entire slit portion 1a of the metal strip 1 is much smaller than that of the portion where no slit is provided. And the slit part 1a of each strip
Can be easily deformed because its width is narrower than that of the metal strip 1 where no slit is provided. Therefore, even if the tip is focused, its strength does not decrease significantly. Metal band 1 in through hole 3 of die 2 for pipe production
No damage is caused even if the distal end of the wire is inserted and penetrated and pulled strongly through the board.

As described in detail above, the method of passing the leading end of a metal band through a die for manufacturing a metal welded pipe according to the present invention is characterized in that the leading end of a flat metal band is formed with a predetermined width parallel to the longitudinal direction of the metal band. Slit it in multiple strips over a predetermined length, converge the tip of this slit part, insert the metal band from this converged part into the through hole of the die for manufacturing a metal welded pipe, penetrate and grasp the penetrated tip part It is a method of passing the tip of the metal band to the metal welding pipe manufacturing die with a very simple work of pulling,
For processing into a metal strip, the tip of a flat metal strip is slit into multiple strips with a predetermined width and a predetermined length or more in parallel with the longitudinal direction of the metal strip, and the tip of this slit portion is converged. It is only an extremely simple and easy operation of clamping with a clamp material, and the tip of the metal band inserted and penetrated into the through hole of the metal welding pipe manufacturing die has almost the same cross-sectional area as the part without slits. Since there is no problem in strength, there is also an advantage that the end of the metal strip can be easily deformed to a size that can be inserted and penetrated into a through hole of a die for manufacturing a metal welded pipe because the slit is provided. The target value is very large.
