布押え上げ(以下FLと称する)用ソレノイド10aにFL駆
動用の出力電圧を印加することで駆動される。この動作
を第4図を参照して説明をする。FL駆動手段12はペダル
センサ5の踏み返し信号・ひざスイッチ13や踏みスイッ
チ(図示せず)などのスイッチなどの操作、あるいはミ
シン制御手段7が定形的縫製作業などのためパターン縫
い動作などの制御をしているとき自動的にFL機構10を作
業するときに出す信号で指令される。一般的にFL機構は
ミシンの各機構のなかでもその動力源として比較的大形
のソレノイドを必要とする。また、比較的長時間連続で
作動していることが多い。従って、FL用ソレノイド10a
およびFL駆動手段12の電源(図示せず)の負担を軽くす
るため、第5図のFL駆動手段12の出力電圧に示すように
FL駆動手段12は、ソレノイドを動作させるのに充分な一
定の時間“T"の間高い電圧でソレノイドを引きつけ、そ
の後ソレノイドを保持するのに必要なだけの低い電圧を
出力することが多い。
