Description

【発明の詳細な説明】 〔産業上の利用分野〕 本発明は金属加工用潤滑油組成物に関し、詳しくは特
定の性状の鉱油を含む基油に油性剤等を配合してなる加
工性のすぐれたオイルタイプまたはエマルジョンタイプ
の金属加工用の潤滑油組成物に関する。
〔従来の技術及び発明が解決しようとする問題点〕
従来、金属加工の際に用いる潤滑油については、あま
り詳しい研究がなされておらず、潤滑油基油の種類や性
状とその効果との関係について論じた文献はほとんど見
受けられない。
一般に、広く用いられている金属加工用潤滑油の基油
としては、公知のナフテン系鉱油やパラフィン系鉱油が
あげられるが、これらは様々な欠点がある。例えば公知
のナフテン系鉱油を用いた場合には、被加工物の表面仕
上げ、特に光沢が不良であり、またパラフィン系鉱油を
用いた場合には、ナフテン系鉱油を用いた場合に比べ
て、光沢は改善されるが、金属加工の条件が苛酷になる
と、表面仕上げ状態が付充分であるという問題がある。
そこで、本発明者は上記従来の金属加工用潤滑油の問
題点を解消し、金属加工の条件によらず被加工物の表面
仕上げ状態が良好となり、しかも金属加工性にすぐれた
金属加工用潤滑油を開発すべく鋭意研究を重ねた。
〔問題点を解決するための手段〕
その結果、潤滑油基油として特定の動粘度,粘度−圧
力係数ならびに流動点を有する鉱油を含むものが、上記
目的に沿うものであることを見出した。本発明はかかる
知見に基づいて完成したものである。すなわち本発明
は、(A)40℃における動粘度(V40)が5〜150cStで
あり、40℃における粘度−圧力係数(α40)が 式 α40≦2.800log(V40)+14.200 ・・ を満たし、かつ流動点が−35℃以下である鉱油を含む基
油及び(B)油性剤及び/又は極性剤を主成分とする金
属加工用潤滑油組成物を提供するものである。
本発明の組成物は、(A)成分である特定の性状の鉱
油を含む基油と(B)成分である油性剤及び/又は極性
剤を主成分とするものであるが、ここで(A)成分の基
油に含まれる鉱油は、40℃における動粘度(V40)が5
〜150cSt、好ましくは6〜100cStである。動粘度
(V40)が5cSt未満では、潤滑性が不良となり、また150
cStを超えると加工後の焼鈍や脱脂が困難となる。上記
鉱油は、また粘度−圧力係数(α40)が、前述したα40
≦2.800log(V40)+14.200なる関係式(式)(な
お、logは常用対数を示す。)を満たすことが必要であ
る。この関係式を満足しない粘度−圧力係数(α40)を
有する鉱油では、被加工物の表面光沢が悪いものとな
る。ここで粘度−圧力係数(α40)とは、一般に (式中、ηは温度40℃,圧力P(ギガパスカル)での
粘度を示し、ηは温度40℃,大気圧での粘度を示す。
なお、lnは自然対数を示す。)で定義される圧力によ粘
度変化を示す係数である。
さらに、上記鉱油は流動点が−35℃以下、好ましくは
−40℃以下のものである。ここで流動点が−35℃より高
いと、金属加工の際の加工条件が厳しい場合には、被加
工物の表面仕上げが不充分になる。
上述したような性状を有する鉱油の具体例としては、
パラフィン基系原油,中間基系原油を常圧蒸留するかあ
るいは常圧蒸留の残渣油を減圧蒸留して得られる留出油
を常法にしたがって精製し、さらに深脱ロウ処理するこ
とによって得られる深脱ロウ油を好適なものとしてあげ
ることができる。この際の留出部の精製法は特に制限は
なく様々な方法が考えられる。通常は(a)水素化処
理,(b)脱ロウ処理(溶剤脱ロウまたは水添脱ロ
ウ),(c)溶剤抽出処理,(d)アルカリ蒸留または
硫酸洗浄処理,(e)白土処理を単独であるいは適宜順
序で組み合わせて行う。また同一処理を複数段に分けて
繰り返し行うことも有効である。例えば、留出油を水
素化処理するか、または水素化処理した後、アルカリ蒸
留または硫酸洗浄処理を行う方法、留出油を水素化処
理した後、脱ロウ処理する方法、留出油を溶剤抽出処
理した後、水素化処理する方法、留出油に二段あるい
は三段の水素化処理を行う、またはその後にアルカリ蒸
留または硫酸洗浄処理する方法などがある。
本発明の組成物に用いる鉱油は、このようにして得ら
れる精製油を、必要に応じて再度脱ロウ処理して深脱ロ
ウ油としたものが好適に使用される。ここで行う脱ロウ
処理は、深脱ロウ処理と称されるもので、苛酷な条件下
での溶剤脱ロウ処理法やゼオライト触媒を用いた触媒水
添脱ロウ処理法などによって行われる。
本発明の組成物では、(A)成分として上記鉱油を含
む基油が用いられるが、この基油中には上記鉱油以外
に、他の公知の金属加工油用基油を適量、通常は基油全
量の50%未満の割合で配合することもできる。
次に、本発明の組成物には、上記(A)成分と共に、
(B)成分として油性剤,極性剤のいずれか一方あるい
は両者を配合することが必要である。ここで、油性剤は
様々なものが使用可能であり、特に制限はないが、例え
ば高級脂肪酸(オレイン酸,ステアリン酸など),高級
脂肪酸エステル,多価カルボン酸エステル,多価アルコ
ールエステル,高級アルコール,油脂,塩素化油脂,金
属石けん(亜鉛,鉛,銅などを含有)などがあげられ
る。また、極性剤についても種々のものがあるが、例え
ばスルフィド類,スルフォキサイド類,スルフォン類,
チオホスフィネート類,チオカーボネート類,硫化油
脂,硫化オレフィン等のイオウ系極圧剤;リン酸エステ
ル(トリクレジルホスフェート(TCP)など),亜リン
酸エステル,リン酸エステルアミン塩,亜リン酸エステ
ルアミン塩等のリン系極圧剤;塩素化炭化水素等のハロ
ゲン系極圧剤;ジチオリン酸亜鉛(ZnDTP)などのチオ
リン酸塩,チオカルバミン酸塩あるいはサリチル酸やス
ルホン酸の金属塩等の有機金属系極圧剤などをあげるこ
とができる。
本発明の組成物においては、上記(B)成分の配合割
合は特に制限はないが、組成物全体の0.1〜50重量%、
好ましくは1〜30重量%である。
本発明の組成物には、さらに所望により腐食防止剤,
泡消剤等の各種添加剤を適量加えることもできる。ま
た、本発明の組成物は、そのままオイルタイプとして用
いてもよいが、乳化剤とともに水を加えてエマルジョン
タイプとして用いることもできる。
〔実施例〕
次に、本発明を実施例および比較例によりさらに詳し
く説明する。
まず、下記の実施例および比較例に用いる9種類の鉱
油を準備した。これらの鉱油の性状を第1表に示す。
実施例1〜4及び比較例1〜8(圧延実験) 上記第1表の鉱油(80重量%)にブチルステアレート
(20重量%)を配合して試料を調製し、これを圧延油と
して用いて圧延実験を行った。この実験は、精密四段圧
延機を使用し、4パス圧延実験を行うことにより進行さ
せた。なお、この際の圧延実験条件は、次の如くであ
る。

被圧延材の光沢をJIS−Z8741に準拠して、60゜鏡面光沢
法により行った。結果を第2表に示す。
実施例5,6及び比較例9〜12(しぼり実験) 上記第1表の鉱油(80重量%)に硫化油脂(20重量
%)を配合して試料を調製し、これを加工油として用い
てしぼり実験を行った。このしぼり実験条件は、次の如
くである。
被加工材 JIS−SPCE材(厚さ2.0mm) ポンチ径 31.4mm 被加工材径 50mm しぼり速度 0.5m/秒 潤滑方法 塗布 また、この試料の性能評価は、しぼり後の被加工物の
表面性状を目視観察することにより行った。結果を第3
表に示す。
実施例7及び比較例13,14(切削実験) 上記第1表の鉱油(97重量%)に硫化油脂(2重量
%)及び塩素化パラフィン(1重量%)を配合して試料
を調製し、これを切削油として用いて舞いツール実験を
行った。結果を第4表に示す。なお、この実験条件は、
次の如くである。
工具の形状 刃先R:0.5R,圧力角:18゜12′,すくい
角:0゜ 被加工物の材質 SCM−420 切削速度 100m/分(187rpm) 送り量 2.4mm 切り込み量 0.9mm 切削方向 上向き 実施例8及び比較例15,16(乳化安定性実験) 100mlのメスシリンダー内で、上記第1表の鉱油80重
量%,乳化剤(ポリオキシエチレンノニルフェニルエー
テル)10重量%及び塩素化パラフィン(塩素分40%)10
重量%の混合物の5%水溶液を調製して、試料とした。
この試料を50回震盪して、エマルジョンとした後、温
度5℃にて24時間後の安定性を観察した。結果を第5表
に示す。
〔発明の効果〕 以上の如く、本発明の潤滑油組成物によれば、各種の
金属加工にあたって、被加工物の表面仕上げ、特に光沢
を向上させることができると共に、加工性ならびに加工
効率が向上し、しかもこの潤滑油組成物は、乳化安定性
が良好である。
したがって、本発明の潤滑油組成物は、圧延,しぼり
等の塑性加工あるいは切削,研削加工等の各種の金属加
工油として、幅広くかつ有効な利用が期待される。

  1. 【請求項1】(A)40℃における動粘度(V40)が5〜1
    50cStであり、40℃における粘度−圧力係数(α40)が 式 α40≦2.800log(V40)+14.200を満たし、かつ流
    動点が−35℃以下である鉱油を含む基油及び(B)油性
    剤及び/又は極性剤を主成分とする金属加工用潤滑油組
    成物。
