Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a vehicle control device that performs automatic brake control (collision avoidance brake control or collision damage mitigation brake control) to avoid a vehicle colliding with an obstacle or to reduce collision damage with an obstacle. .
。 2. Description of the Related Art Conventionally, vehicle control devices have been known that detect an obstacle in front of a vehicle and perform automatic brake control when it is predicted that the vehicle will collide with the obstacle. One such vehicle control device (hereinafter referred to as the "conventional device") detects the driver's driving operations such as accelerator operation and/or steering operation when the vehicle is predicted to collide with an obstacle. When such a driving operation occurs, it is determined whether or not those driving operations are erroneous operations. If the conventional device determines that these driving operations are not erroneous operations, it does not perform automatic braking and gives priority to the driving operations by the driver. That is, the conventional device allows override control. On the other hand, the conventional device prohibits override control and executes automatic brake control when it is determined that the driving operation is an erroneous operation (see, for example, Patent Document 1).
Furthermore, a device that determines whether the driver is in a state in which it is impossible to drive the vehicle (hereinafter referred to as an "abnormal state") and controls the vehicle when such a determination is made. has been developed (for example, see Patent Document 2). When the driver is in an abnormal state, the driver has lost the ability to drive the vehicle, for example, when the driver is in a drowsy driving state or a state in which mental and physical functions have stopped.
By the way, when it is predicted that the vehicle will collide with an obstacle, and it is determined that the driver is in an abnormal state, even if a driving operation by the driver is detected, the driving operation may be due to an error. It can be determined that there is. Therefore, in such a case, override control is preferably prohibited.
However, if it is determined that the driver has returned to a normal state after it has been determined that the driver is in an abnormal state, the driver will be unable to return to the normal state for a while (hereinafter referred to as the "transition period") There is a high possibility that the driving operation caused by this is an incorrect operation. This is because the determination that the driver has returned to a normal state is not necessarily correct. For this reason, there is a risk that the override control will be erroneously executed during the transition period.
The present invention has been made to solve the above problems. That is, one of the objects of the present invention is to predict that the vehicle will collide with an obstacle during a period from when it is determined that the driver is in an abnormal state to when it is determined that the driver is not in an abnormal state. An object of the present invention is to provide a vehicle control device that can reduce the possibility that override control will be executed erroneously when the override control is executed incorrectly.

Furthermore, the control unit (20)
When it is determined that the collision prediction condition is satisfied and it is determined that the driver is not in the abnormal state (step 220: Yes, step 330: No);
A point in time when the driver re-determines that the driver is not in the abnormal state in a state in which it was determined that the driver is in the abnormal state is a starting point, and a point in time when a predetermined period of time has elapsed from the starting point. The transition period to be the end point (i.e., the period within a predetermined time from the time when it is re-determined that the driver is not in the abnormal state in the state where it was determined that the driver is in the abnormal state (transition period) (step 230: Yes, step 440: No), a first condition that the operator state parameter satisfies when the driving operator is operated is adopted as the operation determination condition. (step 240, step 450),
If it is within the transition period (step 230: No, step 440: Yes), the possibility that the driving operator is being operated based on the driver's intention is greater than when the first condition is met. adopting a second condition that the operator state parameter satisfies when it is high as the operation determination condition (
It is configured as follows.
The operation determination condition is, for example, a condition that is satisfied when the magnitude |X| of the operator state parameter X is greater than or equal to the "size threshold value Xth." In this example, the first condition is an operation determination condition when the size threshold Xth is set to the first threshold, and the second condition is that the size threshold Xth is "a second threshold larger than the first threshold". These are the operation judgment conditions when set to .
The operation determination condition is, for example, a condition that is satisfied when the amount of change |dX| of the operator state parameter X per unit time is greater than or equal to the "change speed threshold dXth." In this example, the first condition is an operation determination condition when the change speed threshold dXth is set to the first change speed threshold, and the second condition is the operation determination condition when the change speed threshold dXth is set to "greater than the first change speed threshold." This is the operation determination condition when the second rate of change threshold is set.
In other words, the second condition can be said to be a condition that is satisfied when the driving operator is operated more greatly and/or faster than when the first condition is satisfied.
If the vehicle control device determines that the driver is in an abnormal state at the time when the collision prediction condition is satisfied, the vehicle control device prohibits override control and executes automatic brake control. Therefore, when the driver is in an abnormal state, automatic brake control can be reliably executed regardless of whether or not the driving operator is operated.
Further, if the vehicle control device determines that the driver is not in an abnormal state at the time when the collision prediction condition is satisfied,
(1) If the time point is not a transition period, when the operator state parameter satisfies the operation determination condition set as the first condition, inhibit automatic brake control and execute override control;
(2) If the point in time is a transition period, the controller status parameter is set to ``a second condition that is satisfied when there is a high possibility that the driving controller was operated by the driver's will compared to when the first condition was satisfied.'' ”, automatic brake control is prohibited and override control is executed.
Therefore, it is possible to reduce the possibility that override control will be erroneously executed during the period immediately after it is determined that the driver has recovered from the abnormal state.

(Overview of operation)
This implementation device is established when it is predicted that the vehicle will collide with an obstacle based on information from the obstacle sensor (integrated target information obtained based on radar target information and camera target information). It is determined whether the collision prediction conditions are satisfied. That is, in this embodiment, the "collision possibility index value (to be described later, collision time TTC) representing the possibility that the vehicle will collide with an obstacle" calculated based on the integrated target object information meets the predetermined collision prediction condition. It is determined whether (TTC≦TTCth) is satisfied.
Furthermore, as will be described later, this implementation device determines whether the driver of the vehicle is in a "state in which it is impossible to drive the vehicle (i.e., an abnormal state)" based on driver state parameters. are doing.
As shown in the conceptual flowchart in FIG. 2, when it is determined that the collision prediction condition is satisfied (step 210: Yes), the present implementation device performs override control (step 260) and automatic control according to each of the states described below. Either brake control (step 270) is executed.
Automatic brake control is control that automatically applies braking force to a vehicle using a braking device in order to avoid the vehicle from colliding with an obstacle or to reduce damage caused by a collision, without requiring any brake operation by the driver. It is. Automatic brake control is sometimes referred to as collision avoidance brake control or collision damage reduction brake control. Since automatic brake control itself is well known, its explanation will be omitted. Note that during execution of automatic brake control, this implementation device controls the
Override control is control that prohibits (does not execute) automatic brake control and changes the driving state of the vehicle based on the driver's operation of driving controls (eg,
(State 1) When it is determined that the driver is in an abnormal state If
(State 2) When it is determined that the driver is not in an abnormal state If state 2 has occurred (step 220: Yes), this implementation device determines that the operator state parameter meets the predetermined operation judgment condition. If the condition is satisfied (step 250: Yes), override control is executed without executing automatic brake control (step 260). On the other hand, if the operator state parameter does not satisfy the operation determination condition (step 250: No), the present embodiment prohibits override control and executes automatic brake control (step 270).
The operation determination condition is a condition that the operator state parameter satisfies when the driving operator is operated in a predetermined manner. For example, when the driving operator is the steering wheel SW, the operation determination conditions are that the magnitude of the steering angle θ |θ| is greater than or equal to the threshold steering angle θth, and the magnitude of the change rate of the steering angle |dθ| This is a condition in which the angular change rate is equal to or greater than dθth. Note that the operation determination conditions are not limited to the above conditions. Generally speaking, the operation judgment condition is when the magnitude |X| of the operator state parameter This condition is satisfied when |dX| is greater than or equal to the "change speed threshold dXth."
This operation determination condition is set to a different condition (i.e., either the first condition or the second condition described later) depending on whether the time when it is determined that the collision prediction condition is satisfied is within the "transition period" or not. Set. More specifically, the value of the "size threshold Xth" and/or the "change speed threshold dXth" is determined depending on whether or not the time point when it is determined that the collision prediction condition is satisfied is within the "transition period". is changed.
Here, the transition period starts from the point in time when the device re-determines that the driver is not in an abnormal state (return determination point) in a state in which it was determined that the driver is in an abnormal state. This is a period whose end point is a point in time when a predetermined period of time has elapsed from this start point (that is, a period within a predetermined period of time from the return determination point). In other words, when it is determined that the driver is in an abnormal state, and then it is determined that the driver is not in an abnormal state, the period from that point until the predetermined time elapses. It will be a transition period. Note that if it has never been determined that the driver is in an abnormal state after the vehicle started driving this time, there is no point in time when it was determined that the driver is no longer in an abnormal state, so the collision prediction condition is met. The time point at which it is determined is not determined to be within the "transition period."
(State 2-A) When the time point when the collision prediction condition is satisfied is not within the transition period In this case, the present device performs the first condition (i.e., the operation (step 240). For example, when the driving operator is the steering wheel SW, the first condition is that the magnitude |θ| of the steering angle θ is greater than or equal to "the normal threshold steering angle θNormal set as the threshold steering angle θth", and This is a condition that is satisfied when the magnitude of the steering angle change rate |dθ| is equal to or greater than "the normal threshold steering angle change rate dθNormal set as the threshold steering angle change rate dθth."
(State 2-B) When the collision prediction condition is satisfied within the transition period In this case, the present device detects that the driving controls are being operated based on the driver's intention compared to when the first condition was satisfied. The second condition (that is, the transient period condition after the driver returns to normal) that the operator state parameter satisfies when it is more certain (more likely) is adopted as the operation determination condition (step 280). For example, when the driving operator is the steering wheel SW, the second condition is "transient threshold steering larger than the normal threshold steering angle θNormal" where the magnitude of the steering angle θ |θ| is set as the threshold steering angle θth. θLarge” or more, and the magnitude of the steering angle change speed |dθ| is set as the threshold steering angle change speed dθth. dθLarge” or more.
According to the present implementation device configured in this way, even if it is determined that the driver is not in an abnormal state, if the collision prediction condition is established within the transition period, the collision prediction condition is replaced with the first condition. The second condition is adopted as the operation determination condition. Therefore, override control is executed when there is a high possibility that the driving controls are being operated based on the driver's will, and when it is doubtful whether the driving controls are being operated based on the driver's will. Override control is prohibited and automatic brake control is executed.
(Specific operation)
Next, the operation of the CPU of the
1. Execution of automatic brake control or override control At an appropriate timing, the CPU starts processing from
More specifically, first, the CPU calculates the expected vehicle travel route Ehv. The expected vehicle travel route Ehv is the vehicle's expected travel route Ehv, when the vehicle (the center position of the front end of the vehicle in the vehicle width direction) is assumed to maintain the current "steering angle θ (or yaw rate Yr) and vehicle speed SPD" for a predetermined estimated period of time. is the future route of the vehicle that is predicted to take at .
Next, the CPU obtains a line obtained by moving the expected vehicle traveling route Ehv by a distance d to the left in the vehicle width direction as the left front end movement route SL, and a line obtained by moving the expected vehicle traveling route Ehv by a distance d to the right in the vehicle width direction. is determined as the right front end movement path SR. As described above, the belt-shaped host vehicle passage area SP determined by the left front end movement route SL and the right front end movement route SR is estimated. Then, the CPU determines whether or not an obstacle exists within the own vehicle passage area SP based on information from the obstacle sensor (integrated target information). If there is no obstacle within the own vehicle passage area SP, the CPU determines "No" in
If an obstacle exists within the own vehicle passage area SP, the CPU determines "Yes" in
If the collision prediction condition is not satisfied, the CPU determines "No" in
On the other hand, if the collision prediction condition is satisfied, the CPU determines "Yes" in
The value of the OR prohibition flag XORpr is set to "0" by an initialization routine (not shown) executed by the CPU when the ignition key switch (not shown) of the vehicle is changed from the OFF position to the ON position. Furthermore, the value of the OR prohibition flag XORpr is set to "1" or "0" by a routine shown in FIG. 4, which will be described later. As described later, when the value of the OR prohibition flag XORpr is "1", override control is prohibited.
If the value of the OR prohibition flag XORpr is "1", the CPU determines "Yes" in
On the other hand, when the CPU proceeds to step 330, if the value of the OR prohibition flag XORpr is "0", the CPU determines "No" in
The operation determination condition is a condition that satisfies at least one of
Condition 1: Accelerator pedal operation amount AP≧threshold accelerator pedal operation amount APth and accelerator pedal change speed dAP≧threshold pedal change speed dAPth
Condition 2: Steering angle magnitude |θ|≧threshold steering angle θth and magnitude of steering angle change speed |dθ|≧threshold steering angle change speed dθth
Note that the accelerator pedal change rate dAP is the amount of increase in the accelerator pedal operation amount AP per unit time. The magnitude of the rate of change in the steering angle |dθ| is the magnitude of the amount of change in the steering angle per unit time. Each of the threshold values (APth, dAPth, θth, dθth) used in
If the operation determination condition is satisfied, the CPU determines "Yes" in
On the other hand, if the operation determination condition is not satisfied, the CPU determines "No" in

On the other hand, if it is not determined that the driver is in an abnormal state (if the value of the abnormality determination flag Xijo is "0"), the CPU determines "No" in

The CPU sets the threshold steering angle change rate dθth to the normal threshold steering angle change rate dθNormal.

The value of this abnormality determination flag Xijo is also set to "0" in the above-mentioned initialization routine. Furthermore, as described later, the value of the abnormality determination flag Xijo is set to "1" when it is determined that the driver of the vehicle is "in an abnormal state in which it is impossible to drive the vehicle."

Next, the CPU proceeds to step 560 and determines whether the value of the abnormality determination timer Tijo is equal to or greater than the warning start threshold time Tkeikoku. If the value of the abnormality determination timer Tijo is less than the warning start threshold time Tkeikoku, the CPU determines "No" in

Next, the CPU proceeds to step 580 and determines whether the value of the abnormality determination timer Tijo is equal to or greater than the abnormality determination threshold time Tijoth. The abnormality determination threshold time Tijoth is set to be longer than the warning start threshold time Tkeikoku. If the value of the abnormality determination timer Tijo is less than the abnormality determination threshold time Tijoth, the CPU determines "No" in

On the other hand, if the value of the abnormality determination flag Xijo is "1" (that is, if it is determined that the driver is currently in an abnormal state), the CPU determines "Yes" in

On the other hand, if the return condition is satisfied, it can be determined that the driver's state has changed from an abnormal state to no longer an abnormal state. Therefore, if the return condition is satisfied, the CPU determines "Yes" in

As described above, if it is determined that the driver is in an abnormal state at the time when the collision prediction condition is satisfied, the present embodiment prohibits override control and executes automatic brake control.
Furthermore, if the present implementation device determines that the driver is not in an abnormal state at the time when the collision prediction condition is satisfied,
(1) If the time point is not a transition period, when the operator state parameter satisfies the operation determination condition set as the first condition, inhibit automatic brake control and execute override control;
(2) If the point in time is a transition period, the controller status parameter is set to ``a second condition that is satisfied when there is a high possibility that the driving controller was operated by the driver's will compared to when the first condition was satisfied.'' ”, automatic brake control is prohibited and override control is executed. Therefore, the possibility that override control will be executed erroneously can be reduced.

<Second modification example>
The CPU may determine whether or not the driver is in an abnormal state by employing the so-called "driver monitor technology" disclosed in Japanese Patent Laid-Open No. 2013-152700. More specifically, a vehicle control device that employs driver monitor technology photographs the driver using a driver monitor camera installed in a member inside the vehicle interior (for example, a steering wheel SW, a pillar, etc.), and The direction of the driver's line of sight or the direction of his face is monitored using images. The CPU determines that the driver is in an abnormal state if the driver's line of sight or face continues to face for a predetermined period of time or more in a direction that is not faced for a long time during normal driving of the vehicle. It is determined that this is the case, and the value of the flag Xijo is set to "1". In this way, the image information from the driver monitor camera functions as a driver condition parameter representing the condition of the driver of the vehicle. Note that the return condition in this case may be a condition in which it is confirmed that the direction of the driver's line of sight or the direction of the face changes frequently.
