Abstract
Description
TECHNICAL FIELD The present invention relates to a hub unit with a steering function, a steering system, and a vehicle, and more particularly to technology for controlling the steering angle of the wheels to an appropriate steering angle according to the driving conditions.
In a vehicle such as a general automobile, a steering wheel and a steering device (or a steering device) are mechanically connected, and both ends of the steering device are connected to left and right wheels by tie rods. Therefore, the turning angle of the left and right wheels due to the movement of the steering wheel is determined by the initial settings. The vehicle geometry includes (1) "parallel geometry" in which the turning angles of the left and right wheels are the same, and (2) the turning inner wheel angle is larger than the turning outer wheel angle so that the turning center of the vehicle is in one place. The cutting "Ackermann geometry" is known.
The Ackermann geometry is designed so that the steering angle difference between the left and right wheels is adjusted so that each wheel turns around a common point in order to turn the vehicle smoothly at low speeds where the centrifugal force acting on the vehicle can be ignored. is set. However, in high-speed turning where the centrifugal force cannot be ignored, it is desirable for the wheels to generate cornering force in a direction that balances the centrifugal force, so the parallel geometry is preferable to the Ackermann geometry.
As mentioned above, a typical vehicle steering system is mechanically connected to the wheels, so it is generally possible to have only a single fixed steering geometry, which is intermediate between the Ackermann geometry and the parallel geometry. It is often set to a typical geometry. However, in this case, the steering angle difference between the left and right wheels is insufficient in the low speed range, resulting in an excessive steering angle of the outer wheels, and an excessive steering angle of the inner wheels in the high speed range. Unnecessary imbalance in the wheel lateral force distribution between the inner and outer wheels causes deterioration of fuel efficiency and premature wear of tires due to worsening of running resistance. There is the problem of damage.
Therefore, by changing the steering angle of the wheels according to the vehicle speed and turning G, and arbitrarily selecting the Ackermann geometry in the low speed range and the parallel geometry in the high speed range, it does not increase the running resistance and also improves the speed at low speed. Techniques have been proposed that make it possible to achieve both smooth cornering performance and high-speed cornering performance.
In the technique of
The steered shaft and the steered shaft support bearing that supports the steered shaft need to have high rigidity and strength to support loads from various directions from the wheels. If is increased, the weight and size increase, the unsprung load increases, and the maneuverability of the vehicle deteriorates. Further, if the steering shaft is arranged outside the tire wheel, the distance from the center of the steering shaft to the center of the contact surface of the wheel becomes long, and a large force is required to steer the wheel. This also increases the size of the actuator included in the hub unit, which in turn increases the weight of the entire hub unit. On the other hand, in the hub unit, since the actuator is arranged inside the wheel, it is necessary to prevent the entry of water, dust, and the like. If water or dust enters actuators or motors while the vehicle is driving through deep puddles or muddy roads, it can lead to malfunctions in the electrical system, rusting of mechanical parts, deterioration of power lines and connectors, and deterioration of functions. Damage from flying stones may occur.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION An object of the present invention is to provide a hub unit with a steering function, a steering system, and a vehicle capable of improving fuel consumption and driving stability by improving the above-described problems.
A hub unit with a steering function according to the present invention comprises a hub unit body having a hub bearing for rotationally supporting a wheel; and a steering actuator for rotationally driving the hub unit main body around the turning axis,
The steering actuator has a motor, a speed reducer that reduces rotation of the motor, and a linear motion mechanism that converts the rotational output of the speed reducer into linear motion.
A hub unit with a steering function,
The axis of the linear motion mechanism of the steering actuator is arranged above the wheel rotation axis of the hub bearing.
According to this configuration, the hub unit main body is rotatably held by the steering shaft center in the hub unit with steering function. Further, the steering actuator arranged in the hub unit with steering function allows the hub unit main body to rotate around the turning axis. This makes it possible to arbitrarily change the toe angle of the wheel attached to the hub unit with a simple structure. For example, since the angles of the left and right wheels can be changed independently according to the running conditions of the vehicle, the motion performance of the vehicle can be improved and the vehicle can run stably. In addition, it is also possible to improve fuel efficiency by setting an appropriate wheel angle. As described above, it is possible to improve the fuel efficiency and the running stability. In addition, the axis of the linear motion mechanism of the steering actuator is arranged at a position above the wheel rotation axis of the hub bearing. As a result, it is possible to prevent the ingress of water and dust, reduce the influence of flying objects such as stepping stones, and avoid functional deterioration.
A shaft center of the motor of the steering actuator may be arranged at a position above a shaft center of the linear motion mechanism of the steering actuator. As a result, it is possible to further prevent the entry of water, dust, etc., reduce the influence of flying objects such as stepping stones, and avoid functional deterioration.
The axis of wheel rotation of the hub bearing, the axis of the linear motion mechanism of the steering actuator, and the axis of the motor may be arranged in parallel. In this case, for example, the external force from the wheels can be evenly supported, and the load applied to the member that fastens the actuator case of the steering actuator and the unit support member is a compressive or tensile load. The structure can be simplified.
Electric power and signal wires for the steering actuator may be positioned above the wheel rotation axis of the hub bearing. By locating the power and signal wires at a position higher than the wheel rotation axis, it is possible to further prevent the ingress of water and dust, as well as reduce the impact of flying stones and other flying objects. decline can be avoided.
Upper and lower bearings that support the steering shaft portion having the steering axis may be positioned within the wheel of the wheel. As a result, the hub unit with steering function can be compactly mounted in the wheel of the wheel.
The steering shaft center may exist on the hub unit main body side. As a result, the driving force of the steering actuator required for steering can be reduced compared to the case where the steering shaft center is not located on the hub unit main body side. If a problem occurs around the rudder axis, it can be easily dealt with by taking out the hub unit main body alone for repair or replacing the hub unit main body.
A steering system according to the present invention includes a hub unit with a steering function having any one of the configurations according to the present invention, and a control device for controlling the steering actuator of the hub unit with a steering function. The control device includes a steering control section that outputs a current command signal corresponding to a given steering angle command signal, and a current corresponding to the current command signal input from the steering control section to drive the steering actuator. and an actuator drive control unit for controlling.
According to this configuration, the hub unit with steering function included in the present invention can achieve the above-described effects. The steering control section outputs a current command signal corresponding to the given steering angle command signal. The actuator drive control section outputs a current corresponding to the current command signal input from the steering control section to drive and control the steering actuator. Therefore, for example, the wheel angle can be arbitrarily changed in addition to the steering by the steering wheel operation of the driver.
In the vehicle of the present invention, one or both of the front wheels and the rear wheels are supported using the hub unit with a steering function having any of the above configurations of the present invention. Therefore, each of the effects described above can be obtained for the hub unit with a steering function included in the present invention. The front wheels are generally steered wheels, and if the hub unit with steering function of the present invention is applied to the steered wheels, it is effective in adjusting the toe angle during running. Rear wheels are generally non-steered wheels, but when applied to non-steered wheels, the minimum turning radius is reduced at low speeds and vehicle stability is improved at high speeds by slightly steering the non-steered wheels. can be achieved.
A hub unit with a steering function according to the present invention comprises a hub unit body having a hub bearing for rotationally supporting a wheel; and a steering actuator for rotationally driving the hub unit main body about the steering axis, the steering actuator comprising a motor, a speed reducer for reducing the rotation of the motor, and the A hub unit with a steering function, comprising a linear motion mechanism for converting rotational output of a speed reducer into linear motion, wherein the axis of the linear motion mechanism of the steering actuator is aligned with the wheel rotation axis of the hub bearing. are also placed in the upper position. As a result, it is possible to improve the fuel efficiency and the running stability.
As a result, the actuator for steering can be miniaturized without degrading its performance, and the mountability on the vehicle and the degree of freedom in peripheral design can be improved while exhibiting the above-described effects.
In the vehicle of the present invention, one or both of the front wheels and the rear wheels are supported using the hub unit with a steering function having any of the above configurations of the present invention. As a result, the actuator for steering can be miniaturized without degrading its performance, and the mountability on the vehicle and the degree of freedom in peripheral design can be improved while exhibiting the above-described effects.
A hub unit with a steering function according to one embodiment of the present invention will be described with reference to the drawings. As shown in FIG. 1, the
The
As shown in FIG. 9, the
The hub unit
As shown in FIG. 4, the hub unit

As shown in FIGS. 4 and 5, the hub unit

As shown in FIG. 5, the

<Effect>
According to the steering function-equipped
The
Also, during turning, the steering angle difference between the left and right wheels can be changed according to the running speed. For example, it is possible to change the steering geometry while driving, such as parallel geometry for high-speed cornering and Ackermann geometry for low-speed cornering. Since the wheel angle can be arbitrarily changed during running in this manner, the motion performance of the vehicle can be improved and the vehicle can run stably. Furthermore, by appropriately changing the steering angle of the left and right steered wheels, it is possible to reduce the turning radius of the vehicle during cornering and improve the sharp turning performance. In addition, even when driving in a straight line, by adjusting the amount of toe angle according to each situation, it is possible to make adjustments such as ensuring driving stability at high speeds without deteriorating fuel efficiency at low speeds.
