Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a method for fusing a thermal transfer sheet.
2. Description of the Related Art In the production of prints, an image forming method is widely used in which a thermal transfer sheet having a dye layer is used and an image is formed on a transfer medium such as a card or a thermal transfer image receiving sheet by a sublimation thermal transfer system. In the image forming method using the sublimation type thermal transfer method, energy is applied to the thermal transfer sheet, and the dye contained in the dye layer (sublimation dye) is transferred to the transfer medium, thereby forming an image on the transfer medium. can be formed. By the way, in such an image forming method, a pattern corresponding to the image formed on the transfer material remains on the dye layer of the thermal transfer sheet after the image formation as a print trace, and the dye layer of the thermal transfer sheet after the image formation. However, there is an inherent problem that the image formed on the transfer medium can be easily identified from the print traces remaining on the transfer medium. Therefore, when a thermal transfer sheet having a dye layer is used to form confidential information such as ID information as an image on a transfer material, care must be taken in handling the thermal transfer sheet after image formation. The applicant of the present patent has been working to solve this problem for some time, and has developed a technique as described in

In the
Formation of an image using a thermal transfer sheet having a dye layer (manufacture of printed matter) involves combining the thermal transfer sheet with a card base material, a transfer receiving material such as a thermal transfer image receiving sheet, and applying energy to the thermal transfer sheet. This is done by transferring the dye contained in the dye layer to the side of the material to be transferred. In the dye layer of the thermal transfer sheet after image formation used in this method (sometimes referred to as the thermal transfer sheet after use), there are printed
As one means for preventing confidential information from being identified from the thermal transfer sheet after image formation, the thermal transfer sheet after image formation is wound up, for example, by a take-up roller, and fusion bonding is performed in this state. There is a method of fusing the dye layer provided on one surface of the base material and the other surface side of the base material. By the way, the dye layer of the thermal transfer sheet is originally required to have the function of preventing abnormal transfer, in which the dye layer is fused to the material to be transferred during image formation. The dye layer provided on one side and the other side of the substrate cannot be sufficiently fused. In addition, when the fusion is insufficient, by peeling off the thermal transfer sheet after forming the fused image, the print mark existing on the dye layer can be visually recognized again, and as a result, the image is not formed on the transferred material. can identify patterns in images
Here, in the
According to the
Furthermore, according to the

(Method for fusing thermal transfer sheet)
Next, a method of fusing a thermal transfer sheet according to an embodiment of the present disclosure (hereinafter referred to as a fusing method of the present disclosure) will be described.
