Abstract
Description
本発明は、電子写真方式、静電記録方式、静電印刷方式、トナージェット方式に用いられるトナー製造方法に関する。 The present invention relates to a toner manufacturing method used in an electrophotographic method, an electrostatic recording method, an electrostatic printing method, and a toner jet method.
In recent years, electrophotographic full-color copiers have become widespread and have begun to be applied to the printing market. In the printing market, high speed, high image quality, and high productivity are required while supporting a wide range of media (paper types). In the toner, the developability and transferability are stabilized by stabilizing the chargeability of the toner with a toner having a small particle size and a sharp particle size distribution, and high image quality can be achieved.
A melt-kneading pulverization method is known as a general method for producing toner particles. Specifically, it is a method in which toner constituent materials such as a binder resin, a coloring material, and a mold release agent are melt-kneaded, cooled and solidified, and then the kneaded product is finely divided by a pulverizing means to obtain toner particles. Toner is produced by classifying the toner into a desired particle size distribution or adding a fluidizing agent or the like.
Various crushing devices are used as crushing means for the kneaded material, and a rotor supported by a central rotation shaft and having a plurality of protrusions and recesses on the outer peripheral surface in a casing having an input port and a discharge port for the object to be crushed. And, on the outside of the rotor, a stator having a predetermined gap with the outer peripheral surface of the rotor is provided, and a stator having a plurality of convex portions and concave portions is provided on the inner peripheral surface thereof. A machine that crushes the object to be crushed by colliding with the convex or concave portion of the rotor or stator when the object to be crushed passes through the processing section where the rotor and stator oppose each other in the airflow flowing through the rotor. A formula crusher (Patent Document 1) and the like are known.
Further, in order to improve the developability of the toner, the toner particles are sphericalized by heat treatment. As a technique for melting and sphericalizing toner particles by heat treatment, a heat treatment device having a swirling mechanism for dispersing powder particles as a raw material and a heating mechanism for heating the dispersed powder raw material from the inside has been proposed. (Patent Document 2).
However, when the powder particles for toner are heat-treated with this apparatus configuration, the dispersed airflow and the heated airflow of the raw materials are in opposite swirling directions. For this reason, when the processing amount of powder particles is increased, the powder particles collide with each other and coalesce into coarse particles, or the powder particles adhere to the top surface or wall surface of the device due to the turbulence of the air flow generated in the device. In some cases, splinters were formed.
On the other hand, there has been proposed a heat treatment apparatus for suppressing collision between toner powder particles by equipping the apparatus with a swirling member for swirling and supplying hot air (Patent Document 3).
As described above, it is required to reduce the particle size of the toner in order to improve the image quality. From the average particle size of the powder particles for toner in the process of the toner, which heat-sphericizes the powder particles for toner that have been classified for grain size adjustment after melting and kneading the mixture of toner raw materials. However, it is known that the average particle size of the toner after the thermal spheroidization treatment becomes large, and the increase width of the average particle size becomes more remarkable as the powder particles for toner have a smaller particle size. Although the cause of this is not clear, when the particles are transported by the air flow, the small particle size components adhere to the surface layer of the large particle size components, and when the particles are formed into a thermal sphere, the resins that are the main components of the toner raw material are fused together. Therefore, it is considered that the particle size shifts to the larger particle size side.
An object of the present invention is to solve the above-mentioned problems, to suppress the increase in the particle size before and after the thermal spheroidization treatment, and to increase the particle size before and after the thermal spheroidization treatment. It is an object of the present invention to provide the manufacturing method of the toner which suppresses this.

According to the present invention, it is possible to provide a resin fine particle thermal spheroidizing apparatus capable of suppressing a change in average particle size before and after treatment. Although it is not clear about this factor, it is assumed as follows.
Two factors can be assumed that the particle size of the object to be treated becomes large before and after the thermal spheroidization treatment. The first is that when the fine particles to be processed are supplied from the fine particle supply device to the heat treatment device, the transport force received from the transport air is proportional to the projected area of the particles receiving the air, so that the particle size of the object to be processed and the particle size of the object to be processed Due to the variation in transport force due to the difference in circularity and the slight difference in the charging position due to the turbulent flow of the transport air, the particles to be treated have a speed difference for each particle inside the heat treatment device. As a result, the particles being heated collide with each other and are fused to increase the particle size. The second is that when the fine particles to be treated are supplied from the fine particle supply device to the heat treatment device, the fine particles to be treated are not single particles but the fine particles adhere to each other to form secondary particles in the heat treatment device. The particle size is increased by being supplied inward and fused. If the former factor is the main factor, if the fine particles have the same circularity and the same particle size distribution half-value width, the smaller the average particle size, the larger the particle size component and the smaller particle size component will receive air. The difference becomes smaller, and as the average particle size of the fine particles becomes smaller, the speed difference between the particles becomes smaller, and it is considered that the increase in the particle size after the thermal sphere formation becomes smaller. However, the smaller the particle size of the object to be treated, the larger the increase in particle size after the thermal spheroidization treatment tends to occur. Therefore, when the object to be treated is supplied to the latter heat treatment apparatus, the fine particles to be treated are secondary. It is assumed that the formation of particles is the main cause of thermal sphere formation. Therefore, it is considered that if the agglomeration of the fine particles at the time of supply is resolved and the primary particles are supplied to the heat treatment apparatus, the increase in the particle size after the thermal sphere formation can be suppressed. It is thought that the agglomeration of fine particles will be crushed to some extent by the energy received from the injection air of the fine particle supply device and the force such as collision with the dispersion member arranged at the inlet of the heat treatment device, but especially the small particle size resin fine particles. It is considered that it is not enough for the thermal spheroidization of.
On the other hand, as a result of diligent studies by the present inventors, the ionizer is provided so as to supply ions into the flow path in which the resin fine particles are conveyed to the heat treatment device by the fine particle supply device. It has been found that when the thermal spheroidizing device is used, it is possible to suppress the increase in particle size after the thermal spheroidization. Polyester resin, styrene-acrylic acid copolymer, polyolefin resin and the like are known as resins used for the binder resin which is the main component of the toner, and the fine particles of these resins are surfaced in a treatment step such as pulverization. Is known to be charged. For example, it is possible to suppress surface charge by adhering low-resistance metal oxide particles to the resin surface at a high coverage rate to reduce the resistance, but electrophotographic photography in which the surface charge is used as the driving force. Excessive surface resistance reduction is not suitable for the use of toner used in the above. Therefore, it is considered that the powder particles for toner supplied to the thermal spheroidizing apparatus after the treatments such as pulverization and classification are electrostatically aggregated. It was thought that the charge could be canceled by supplying ions to the powder particles for toner in storage by an ionizer, electrostatic aggregation could be suppressed, and the increase in particle size after thermal spheroidization could be suppressed, but no effect was observed. On the other hand, it was confirmed that when ions were supplied to the toner powder particles being conveyed by air by an ionizer, the increase in particle size after thermal sphere formation could be suppressed. It is considered that the effect was exhibited by canceling the electrostatic charge site after the powder particles for toner were crushed to some extent by the injection air.
以下、本発明の実施形態について説明する。 Hereinafter, embodiments of the present invention will be described.
本発明において、数値範囲を表す「○○以上××以下」や「○○~××」の記載は、特に断りのない限り、端点である下限及び上限を含む数値範囲を意味する。 In the present invention, the description of "○○ or more and XX or less" and "○○ to XX" indicating a numerical range means a numerical range including a lower limit and an upper limit which are end points, unless otherwise specified.
The present invention is a particle thermal spheroidizing device having a fine particle supply device, a heat treatment device, and an ionizer, and the fine particle supply device conveys resin fine particles (toner precursor particles in the production of toner) by injection air. It is a device that supplies resin fine particles to the heat treatment device, and the heat treatment device is a device that spheres the supplied resin fine particles by heat treatment in an air stream, and the resin fine particles are formed by the fine particle supply device. There are no other restrictions as long as it is a resin fine particle thermal spheroidizing apparatus characterized in that the ionizer is provided so as to supply ions into the flow path conveyed to the heat treatment apparatus. However, from the viewpoint of suppressing resin fusion inside the heat treatment device and the space of the device configuration, the heat spheroidizing device is preferably a heat spheroidizing device as shown in FIG.
The thermal spheroidizing device of FIG. 1 comprises a processing chamber 6 in which heat treatment of resin fine particles is performed, a raw material supply means 1 for supplying the resin fine particles conveyed by the fine particle supply device to the processing chamber, and resin fine particles. The hot air supply means 7 for supplying hot air for heat treatment to the treatment chamber, the cold air supply means 8 for supplying cold air for cooling the heat-treated resin fine particles to the treatment chamber, and the heat-treated resin fine particles are collected. It has a recovery means 10, and has an
Here, the powder particles quantitatively supplied by the raw material quantitative supply means 1 are guided to the
By supplying the powder particles using an introduction pipe installed so that the supply direction of the powder particles is in the vertical direction, it is possible to suppress variations in the flow velocity in the pipe. Then, in this state, the powder particles are instantly distributed by the distribution member, so that the powder particles are supplied to the processing chamber in a nearly uniform state. The air flow rate supplied from the compressed gas adjusting means is preferably in the range of 0.1 to 1.0 m 3 / min. When the air flow rate supplied from the compressed gas adjusting means is within the above range, the powder particles are well dispersed, and the powder particles are heat-treated in the processing chamber of the heat treatment apparatus in a nearly uniform state. Further, the flow rate of the powder particles in each flow path is adjusted by adjusting the amount of secondary air introduced into each flow path by the flow rate adjusting means 15 installed in the vicinity of each of the powder
粉体粒子を熱処理室へ導く流路は、2方向以上に分割される。その中でも、図6に示すように、供給管5は4以上の流路を有し、流路は突起状部材を中心に処理室の壁面に向かって放射状に広がっていることがより好ましい構成である。また、トナーの熱処理が行われる円筒形状の処理室6を持つ。
The flow path that guides the powder particles to the heat treatment chamber is divided into two or more directions. Among them, as shown in FIG. 6, it is more preferable that the
供給された粉体粒子を熱処理するための熱風は、図1に示す熱風供給手段7から供給される。処理室内に供給される熱風は、熱風供給手段7の出口部における温度が100℃~300℃であることが好ましい。100℃未満の場合は、熱球形化が不十分な場合があり、300℃超の場合は、出口部において樹脂粒子が融着し、壁部に付着してしまうなどの弊害が顕著となる。 The hot air for heat-treating the supplied powder particles is supplied from the hot air supply means 7 shown in FIG. The temperature of the hot air supplied to the processing chamber at the outlet of the hot air supply means 7 is preferably 100 ° C to 300 ° C. If the temperature is lower than 100 ° C., the thermal spheroidization may be insufficient, and if the temperature exceeds 300 ° C., the resin particles are fused at the outlet portion and adhere to the wall portion.
更に熱処理された粉体粒子は冷風供給手段8から供給される冷風によって冷却される。冷風供給手段8から供給される温度は-20℃乃至30℃であることが好ましい。冷風の温度が上記の範囲内であれば、粉体粒子を効率的に冷却することができ、粉体粒子の均一な球形化処理を阻害することなく、粉体粒子の融着を抑制することができる。 Further, the heat-treated powder particles are cooled by the cold air supplied from the cold air supply means 8. The temperature supplied from the cold air supply means 8 is preferably −20 ° C. to 30 ° C. When the temperature of the cold air is within the above range, the powder particles can be efficiently cooled, and the fusion of the powder particles can be suppressed without impeding the uniform spheroidizing treatment of the powder particles. Can be done.
次に、冷却された粉体粒子は、処理室の下端にある回収手段10によって回収される。なお、回収手段の先にはブロワー(不図示)が設けられ、ブロワーによる吸引によって搬送される構成となっている。 Next, the cooled powder particles are recovered by the recovery means 10 at the lower end of the processing chamber. A blower (not shown) is provided at the tip of the collection means, and the blower is used for suction.
熱処理装置の熱風供給手段の出口11は、柱状部材(規制手段)9の上端部に対向している。また、この柱状部材9は、その上端部の中心部に、供給された熱風を周方向に分配するための略円錐形状の熱風分配部材12を具備している。
The
熱風を旋回させるための旋回部材13は、処理室内の内壁面に沿って熱風を螺旋状に回転させて導入することができる構成であればよい。例えば図7に示したような、熱風を回転させるための回転部材13が、複数のブレード16を有しており、その枚数や角度により、熱風の回転を制御することができるものであればよい。
The swirling
なお、柱状部材9には、粉体粒子の融着を防止するために、冷却ジャケットを設けることが好ましい。 It is preferable that the columnar member 9 is provided with a cooling jacket in order to prevent the fusion of the powder particles.
熱風を旋回させるための旋回部材13は、熱風の回転方向が供給された粉体粒子の回転方向と同方向になるように設けられている。
The swirling
処理室に供給された粉体粒子の回転方向と、熱風の回転方向とが同一であることによって、処理室内における乱流の発生を抑制し、処理室内での粉体粒子同士の衝突が少なくなり、粉体粒子の合一粗大化を防ぐことが出来る。熱処理装置の回収手段10は、螺旋状に回転する粉体粒子の回転方向を維持するように、処理室の外周部に設けられている。 By making the rotation direction of the powder particles supplied to the treatment chamber the same as the rotation direction of the hot air, the generation of turbulent flow in the treatment chamber is suppressed, and the collision between the powder particles in the treatment chamber is reduced. , It is possible to prevent the coalescence of powder particles from becoming coarse. The recovery means 10 of the heat treatment apparatus is provided on the outer peripheral portion of the processing chamber so as to maintain the rotation direction of the powder particles rotating in a spiral shape.
The columnar member 9 of the regulating means for regulating the flow of powder particles preferably has a substantially circular cross section. Further, in the columnar member 9, the root portion of the columnar member 9 may become thicker toward the downstream side of the processing chamber. As a result, the flow velocity of the powder particles at the side end of the powder particle recovery means becomes high, the dischargeability of the powder particles can be improved, and adhesion and fusion in the recovery portion can be suppressed. In the heat treatment apparatus of FIG. 1, the cold air supplied from the cold air supply means is configured to be supplied horizontally and tangentially from the outer peripheral portion of the apparatus to the peripheral surface of the processing chamber, whereby the powder is supplied to the wall surface of the processing chamber. Adhesion of particles is suppressed. Further, since the swirling direction of the cold air supplied from the cold air supply means is the same as the swirling direction of the hot air, turbulence does not occur in the processing chamber, so that the coalescence coarsening of the powder particles can be suppressed. can.
熱処理装置において、粉体粒子供給口14から供給される粉体粒子は、装置外周部から処理室内周面に、水平かつ接線方向から供給されるよう構成されている。このため、処理室内に供給された粉体粒子には強い遠心力がかかり、粉体粒子の分散性が向上する。
In the heat treatment apparatus, the powder particles supplied from the powder
It is preferable that the rotation direction of the powder particles supplied from the powder supply port, the rotation direction of the cold air supplied from the cold air supply means, and the rotation direction of the hot air supplied from the hot air supply means are all in the same direction. As a result, turbulence does not occur in the processing chamber, the rotational flow in the device is strengthened, a strong centrifugal force is applied to the powder particles, and the dispersibility of the powder particles is further improved, so that the number of coalesced particles is small. It is possible to obtain toner having a uniform shape. It is preferable that a plurality of cold air supply means are provided on the downstream side of the powder particle supply means. Since the cold air supply means is located on the downstream side of the powder supply means, the introduced cold air does not cool the heat treatment zone in the processing chamber, and the heat treatment temperature required for spheroidizing the powder particles is higher than necessary. Prevents becoming. The air volume and temperature of the cold air introduced into the processing chamber can be controlled independently. Therefore, as shown in FIG. 1, it is preferable that the cold air supply means is provided in three stages. For example, the first stage cold air (8-1) is cold air for efficiently sending the powder particles introduced into the treatment chamber into the heat treatment zone, and the second stage (8-2) is cold air for cooling the powder particles. The third-stage cold air (8-3) is used as cold air for cooling the powder particle recovery means, and the functions of the respective cold air can be separated. In addition, 6 to 15 in FIG. 1 are referred to as a heat treatment apparatus.
The ion supply position is not particularly limited as long as the ionizer is provided so as to supply ions into the flow path through which the fine particles are conveyed from the fine particle supply device to the heat treatment device, but the heat treatment device shown in FIG. 1 can be used. When the particles are used, there is a concern that the particles may be triboelectrically charged and aggregated due to the contact between the protruding
In the present invention, the ionizer ionizes a gas such as air or nitrogen gas, and from the viewpoint of transporting the ions to the surface of fine particles having irregularities by an air flow, the ions generated by the corona discharge are transported to a wind such as a blower. It is preferably a wind corona discharge type ionizer. Among the windy corona discharge type ionizers, the jet ionizer that injects the ions generated at the tip of the needle electrode by compressed air from the pores opened in the facing electrode on the front surface of the needle electrode of the corona discharge before the generated ions decrease. It is preferable from the viewpoint of transporting ions to the surface layer of fine particles.
本発明の熱処理装置は、溶融混練粉砕法、懸濁重合法、乳化凝集法、溶解懸濁法など公知の製造方法で得られた粉体粒子に適用することが可能である。以下、溶融混練粉砕法によってトナーを製造する手順について説明する。 The heat treatment apparatus of the present invention can be applied to powder particles obtained by known production methods such as a melt-kneading pulverization method, a suspension polymerization method, an emulsion aggregation method, and a dissolution-suspension method. Hereinafter, the procedure for producing the toner by the melt-kneading pulverization method will be described.

If necessary, a mold release agent that suppresses the generation of hot offset when the toner is heated and fixed, a dispersant that disperses the mold release agent, a charge control agent, and the like may be mixed. Examples of the mixing device include a double-con mixer, a V-type mixer, a drum-type mixer, a super mixer, a Henschel mixer, a Nauter mixer, and the like.
Further, the toner raw materials blended and mixed as described above are melt-kneaded to melt the resins and disperse the colorants and the like in the resins. In the melt-kneading step, for example, a batch-type kneader such as a pressure kneader or a Bambary mixer, or a continuous kneader can be used. In recent years, single-screw or twin-screw extruders have become the mainstream because of their superiority such as continuous production. For example, KTK type twin-screw extruder manufactured by Kobe Steel Co., Ltd. and TEM type twin-screw extruder manufactured by Toshiba Machine Co., Ltd. , A twin-screw extruder manufactured by K.C.K., a co-kneader manufactured by Bus Co., Ltd., etc. are generally used. Further, the colored resin composition obtained by melt-kneading the toner raw material is melt-kneaded, rolled by two rolls or the like, and cooled through a cooling step of cooling by water cooling or the like.
The cooled product of the colored resin composition obtained above is then pulverized to a desired particle size in the pulverization step. In the crushing step, first, coarse crushing is performed with a crusher, a hammer mill, a feather mill or the like. Furthermore, for toner by finely pulverizing using a mechanical crusher such as an innomizer (manufactured by Hosokawa Micron), Cryptron (manufactured by Kawasaki Heavy Industries), a super rotor (manufactured by Nisshin Engineering), and a turbo mill (manufactured by Turbo Industries). Obtain a finely ground product. In the pulverization step, the toner is pulverized step by step to a predetermined toner particle size.
得られたトナー用微粉砕物をターボプレックス、TSPセパレータ、TTSPセパレータ(ホソカワミクロン社製);エルボージェット(日鉄鉱業社製)等の分級装置により所望の粒度分布に調整することでトナー用粉体粒子を得る。 The obtained finely pulverized toner product is adjusted to a desired particle size distribution by a classification device such as Turboplex, TSP separator, TTSP separator (manufactured by Hosokawa Micron); Elbow Jet (manufactured by Nittetsu Mining Co., Ltd.) to obtain a powder for toner. Get the particles.
Subsequently, the powder particles for toner are subjected to a thermal spheroidizing treatment using the heat treatment apparatus of the present invention to obtain toner particles. In order to impart the required functionality of the toner, an inorganic oxide such as silica particles may be added to the powder particles for the toner before the thermal spheroidizing treatment (before the heat treatment), if necessary. Examples of the effect of adding the inorganic oxide include the addition of functions such as being strongly adhered to the toner surface layer by the thermal spheroidizing treatment and improving the blocking resistance. In addition, the addition of inorganic oxides improves the fluidity of the powder particles for toner and reduces the non-electrostatic adhesion between the particles, making it easier for the particles to become single particles due to injection air, and after the thermal spheroidization treatment. It also has the effect of suppressing the increase in particle size. One kind of the inorganic oxide may be used, or two kinds may be used. When the thermal spheroidizing apparatus of the present invention is used, the number average particle size of at least one kind of inorganic oxide primary particles is 1/40 or more and 1/20 or less of the weight average particle size of the powder particles for toner. preferable. If it is 1/40 or more, even when an agglomerate of powder particles for toner is formed, it acts as a spacer and the ions generated by the ionizer easily reach the voids between the particles after the thermal spheroidization treatment. If the particle size is 1/20 or more, the inorganic oxide fine particles are likely to be separated from the toner powder particles, so that there is a concern that the thermal spheroidizing device may be contaminated.
In order to cope with the improvement of the transferability of the toner, the average circularity of the toner is preferably 0.960 or more, more preferably 0.965 or more. From the viewpoint of not causing cleaning defects, a circularity of 0.990 or less is preferable. Further, the weight average particle size of the toner is preferably a small particle size, specifically, a weight average particle size of 3 to 7 μm, and a weight average particle size, from the viewpoint of improving the image quality of the image formed by the toner. A diameter of 3 to 6 μm is more preferable, and a weight average particle size of 3 to 5 μm is more preferable. If the weight average particle size is less than 3 μm, the cleaning blade is likely to slip through, which causes image defects.

(1) Put about 200 ml of the electrolytic aqueous solution in a 250 ml round bottom beaker made of glass dedicated to
(2) Approximately 30 ml of the electrolytic aqueous solution is placed in a 100 ml flat-bottomed beaker made of glass, and "Contaminone N" (nonionic surfactant, anionic surfactant, organic builder) is used as a dispersant in the electrolytic aqueous solution for precise measurement of

<トナーの平均円形度の測定方法>
トナーの平均円形度は、フロー式粒子像分析装置「FPIA-3000型」(シスメックス社製)によって、校正作業時の測定・解析条件で測定した。
<Measuring method of average circularity of toner>
The average circularity of the toner was measured by a flow type particle image analyzer "FPIA-3000 type" (manufactured by Sysmex Corporation) under the measurement and analysis conditions at the time of calibration work.
The measurement principle of the flow-type particle image analyzer "FPIA-3000" (manufactured by Sysmex Corporation) is to capture a flowing particle as a still image and perform image analysis. The sample added to the sample chamber is sent to the flat sheath flow cell by the sample suction syringe. The sample sent into the flat sheath flow is sandwiched between the sheath liquids to form a flat flow. The sample passing through the flat sheath flow cell is irradiated with strobe light at 1/60 second intervals, and it is possible to take a still image of the flowing particles. Moreover, since the flow is flat, the image is taken in a focused state. The particle image is captured by a CCD camera, and the captured image has 512 pixels × 512 pixels in one field, and is image-processed at an image processing resolution of 0.37 × 0.37 μm per pixel, and the contour of each particle image is processed. Extraction is performed, and the projected area and peripheral length of the particle image are measured.
次に、各粒子像の投影面積Sと周囲長Lを求める。上記面積Sと周囲長Lを用いて円相当径と円形度を求める。円形当径とは、粒子像の投影面積と同じ面積を持つ円の直径のことであり、円形度は、円形当径から求めた円の周囲長を粒子投影像の周囲長で割った値として定義され、次式で算出される。
円形度C=2×(π×S)1/2/L
Next, the projected area S and the perimeter L of each particle image are obtained. Using the area S and the perimeter L, the diameter equivalent to a circle and the circularity are obtained. The circular equivalent diameter is the diameter of a circle having the same area as the projected area of the particle image, and the circularity is the value obtained by dividing the peripheral length of the circle obtained from the circular equivalent diameter by the peripheral length of the particle projected image. It is defined and calculated by the following formula.
Circularity C = 2 × (π × S) 1/2 / L
粒子像が真円形の時に円形度は1.000になり、粒子像の外周の凹凸の程度が大きくなるほど円形度は小さい値になる。 When the particle image is a perfect circle, the circularity becomes 1.000, and the greater the degree of unevenness on the outer circumference of the particle image, the smaller the circularity.
各粒子の円形度を算出後、円形度0.2から1.0の範囲を800分割したチャンネルに振り分け、各チャンネルの中心値を代表値として平均値を計算し平均円形度の算出を行う。 After calculating the circularity of each particle, the range of circularity 0.2 to 1.0 is divided into 800 channels, and the average value is calculated with the center value of each channel as a representative value to calculate the average circularity.
As a specific measurement method, 0.02 g of a surfactant, preferably sodium dodecylbenzene sulfonate, as a dispersant is added to 20 ml of ion-exchanged water, 0.02 g of a measurement sample is added, an oscillation frequency of 50 kHz, and electrical. A tabletop ultrasonic washer disperser with an output of 150 W (for example, "VS-150" (manufactured by Vervocrea, etc.) was used for dispersion treatment for 2 minutes to prepare a dispersion liquid for measurement. It is appropriately cooled so that the temperature of the above temperature is 10 ° C. or higher and 40 ° C. or lower.
The flow-type particle image analyzer equipped with a standard objective lens (10x) was used for the measurement, and the particle sheath "PSE-900A" (manufactured by Sysmex Corporation) was used as the sheath liquid. The dispersion prepared according to the above procedure is introduced into the flow type particle image analyzer, 3000 toner particles are measured in the total count mode in the HPF measurement mode, and the binarization threshold at the time of particle analysis is set to 85%. The diameter of the analyzed particle was limited to the equivalent circle diameter of 2.00 μm or more and 200.00 μm or less, and the average circularity of the toner was determined.
測定にあたっては、測定開始前に標準ラテックス粒子(例えばDuke Scientific社製5200Aをイオン交換水で希釈)を用いて自動焦点調整を行う。その後、測定開始から2時間毎に焦点調整を実施することが好ましい。 In the measurement, automatic focus adjustment is performed using standard latex particles (for example, 5200A manufactured by Duke Scientific is diluted with ion-exchanged water) before the start of the measurement. After that, it is preferable to perform focus adjustment every two hours from the start of measurement.
なお、本願実施例では、シスメックス社が発行する校正証明書の発行を受けたフロー式粒子像分析装置を使用し、解析粒子径を円相当径2.00μm以上、200.00μm以下に限定した以外は、校正証明を受けた時の測定及び解析条件で測定を行った。 In the embodiment of the present application, a flow type particle image analyzer issued by Sysmex Corporation is used, and the diameter of the analyzed particle is limited to 2.00 μm or more and 200.00 μm or less in equivalent circle diameter. Measured under the measurement and analysis conditions when the calibration certificate was received.
<無機微粒子の個数平均粒径(D1)の測定方法>
無機微粒子の一次粒子の個数平均粒径は、透過型電子顕微鏡(TEM)「JEM2800」(日本電子製)を用いて測定する。
<Measuring method of number average particle size (D1) of inorganic fine particles>
The average particle size of the number of primary particles of the inorganic fine particles is measured using a transmission electron microscope (TEM) "JEM2800" (manufactured by JEOL Ltd.).
まず、測定サンプルの調整を行う。無機微粒子約5mgに対し、イソプロパノール1mlを加え、超音波分散機(超音波洗浄機)で5分間分散させる。次に、TEM用の支持膜付きマイクログリッド(150メッシュ)に上記分散液を1滴たらし、乾燥させることで測定サンプルを準備した。 First, the measurement sample is adjusted. To about 5 mg of the inorganic fine particles, 1 ml of isopropanol is added and dispersed with an ultrasonic disperser (ultrasonic cleaner) for 5 minutes. Next, a measurement sample was prepared by dropping one drop of the above dispersion on a microgrid (150 mesh) with a support film for TEM and drying it.
次に、透過型電子顕微鏡(TEM)により、加速電圧200kVの条件のもと、視野中の外添剤が十分に測長できる倍率(例えば200k~1M倍)にて画像を取得し、ランダムに100個の無機微粒子の一次粒子の長径を測定してその個数平均粒径を求める。一次粒子の粒径の測定は手動でもよいし計測ツールを用いてもよい。 Next, an image is acquired by a transmission electron microscope (TEM) at a magnification (for example, 200 k to 1 M times) at which the external additive in the field of view can be sufficiently measured under the condition of an acceleration voltage of 200 kV, and the images are randomly measured. The major axis of the primary particles of 100 inorganic fine particles is measured to obtain the number average particle size. The particle size of the primary particles may be measured manually or by using a measuring tool.

本実施例及び比較例では、重量平均粒径(D4)を測定し、トナー用粉体粒子からの重量平均粒径変化量の評価を行った。下記評価ランクによる実施例1、2及び比較例1、2の評価結果を表3に示す。なお、後述の表4における粒径差の評価ランクも下記A~Fを適用した。
A・・・0.1μm未満 :非常に良好である
B・・・0.1以上0.2μm未満 :良好である
C・・・0.2以上0.3μm未満 :

In this example and the comparative example, the weight average particle size (D4) was measured, and the amount of change in the weight average particle size from the toner powder particles was evaluated. Table 3 shows the evaluation results of Examples 1 and 2 and Comparative Examples 1 and 2 according to the following evaluation ranks. The following A to F were also applied to the evaluation ranks of the particle size difference in Table 4 described later.
A ... Less than 0.1 μm: Very good B ... 0.1 or more and less than 0.2 μm: Good C ... 0.2 or more and less than 0.3 μm:
D: 0.3 or more and less than 0.4 μm:
E ... 0.4 or more and less than 0.5 μm: Acceptable level F ... 0.5 or more: Not acceptable in the present invention
As shown in Table 3, the degree of spheroidization (change in circularity) after the thermal spheroidization treatment under the same conditions is the same, but in the examples, the increase in particle size is smaller and the coarsening is suppressed. It is confirmed that Example 1 has a higher inhibitory effect than Example 2. It is considered that this is because after canceling the electrostatic aggregation by the ionizer, the toner particles are partially triboelectrically charged in the collision with the dispersion member or the like, and the electrostatic aggregation is slightly caused again. Further, when Comparative Examples 1 and 2 are compared, there is no difference in the toner particle size after the treatment. This suggests that the thermal spheroidization of the toner is started after entering the heat treatment apparatus, and the coalescence of the aggregates is also started, so that the ion supply at the cooling port is not effective.

In this example and the comparative example, the produced finely pulverized product was sampled every hour, the weight average particle size (D4) was measured, and the amount of change in the weight average particle size from the toner powder particles was evaluated. .. After the operation for 1 hour, the apparatus was stopped, and adhesion (dirt condition) due to desorption of silica fine particles was confirmed on the dispersion mechanism and the heat treatment apparatus.
A ... There is almost no adhesion.
B ... Some adhesion can be confirmed.
C ... A large amount of adhesion is observed, and a large amount of silica is desorbed from the toner fine particles, and the amount of silica on the surface changes before and after the treatment.
実施例3、4及び比較例3、4の評価結果を表4に示す。 The evaluation results of Examples 3 and 4 and Comparative Examples 3 and 4 are shown in Table 4.
