Abstract
Description
一実現例による表示装置は、光源と、表示パネルと、光学複合シートとを含む。前記表示パネルは、前記光源からの光が入射され画像を表示する。前記光学複合シートは、前記光源から前記表示パネルまでの光路に配置され得る。したがって、前記表示装置は、光源と、前記光源からの光が入射される光学複合シートと、前記光学複合シートからの光が入射される表示パネルとを含み得る。前記光源からの光は、前記光学複合シートを通過しながら特性が向上され、前記表示パネルは、前記向上された特性の光をもって画像を表示する。
前記光学複合シートは、プリズムシートと、光拡散層と、光吸収層とを含み、そのほか、基材フィルム、反射偏光フィルム、緩衝フィルムおよび接着層をさらに含み得る。
以下、各構成層別に具体的に説明する。
前記プリズムシートは、プリズムパターンの界面の屈折率差による集光により輝度を向上させる役割をする。
前記プリズムシートは、ロール・ツー・ロール(roll to roll)法により円柱状のマスターロールに形成されたパターンを高分子フィルムに転写して製造され得る。まず、マスターロールの外周面(円柱の円周面)をバイトやレーザーなどで切削加工して、マスターロールにパターンを刻印し得る。その後、マスターロール上に原料造液(UV塗料)をコーティングして、マスターロールのパターンを有する原料造液コーティング層を基材フィルム上に転写し、紫外線を照射し硬化することにより、パターンを有するプリズムシートを製造し得る。または押出によってプラスチック原材料を熱で溶かして、液状のプラスチック平板が固体化しながら前記マスターロールのパターンが転移されるようにして、パターンを有するプリズムシートを製造し得る。
前記光拡散層は、光を拡散させることにより、プリズムシートなどのパターンを隠蔽し得る。前記光学複合シートは、1つまたは2つ以上の光拡散層を含み得る。
前記光吸収層は、特定波長帯域の光を選択的に吸収する。
前記実現例による光学複合シートは、前記光拡散層がコーティングされる基材フィルムをさらに含み得る。すなわち、前記基材フィルム上に前記光拡散層がコーティングされ得る。
前記実現例による光学複合シートは、輝度向上のために反射偏光フィルムを含み得る。
前記光学複合シートは、前記反射偏光フィルムのスキン層を保護するために、緩衝フィルムをさらに含み得る。具体的に、図4に示すように、反射偏光フィルム400の下にプリズムシート210が配置されると、プリズムシート210のパターンが反射偏光フィルムの薄膜に影響を与えて輝度向上性能を低下させ得る。そのため、反射偏光フィルム400とプリズムシート210との間に緩衝フィルム500を配置することにより、このような輝度低下を防止し得る。
前記光学複合シートは、その構成要素(プリズムシート、基材フィルム、反射偏光フィルム、緩衝フィルムなど)の間に接着層を含み得る。
以上説明した光学複合シートの各構成層の厚さは、一定の範囲内に調節され得る。
前述した光学複合シートの各構成層(プリズムシート、光拡散層、光吸収層、反射偏光フィルム、緩衝フィルムなど)は、光路に配置され得る。
前記実現例による光学複合シートを含む表示装置は、色域が従来よりも向上され得る。
図1は、一実現例による光学複合シートのスペクトル透過率曲線(太い実線)、前記光学複合シートが適用された表示装置のスペクトル強度曲線(細い実線)、および前記光学複合シートが適用されていない表示装置のスペクトル強度曲線(細い点線)を示したものである。
前記光学複合シートは、特定波長帯域内で色透過率の最低値を有し得る。
以下、実施例によりさらに具体的な実施形態を説明するが、これらの実施例の範囲に限定されるものではない。
(実施例1)
イ)光吸収層組成物を調製するために、アクリルバインダー樹脂(AOF-2914、エギョン社)とプロピレングリコールメチルエーテル(PGME)とが30:70の重量比で混合された溶液100重量部に、光吸収剤(PANAX NEC584、ウクソン化学社)0.05重量部と、UV遮断剤(Tinuvin(登録商標)928、BASF)1.0重量部とを添加した。
実施例1の段階イ)~ホ)の手順を繰り返すが、段階ロ)において下部プリズムシートの基材フィルムの他面に光吸収層を形成せず、その代わりに段階ハ)において上部プリズムシートの他面に光吸収層を形成し、光吸収層の表面に接着剤樹脂をコーティングして下部プリズムシートと接着した後、以降の手順を行って、最終の光学複合シートを得た(図5b参照)。
実施例1の段階イ)~ホ)の手順を繰り返すが、段階ロ)において下部プリズムシートの基材フィルムの他面に光吸収層を形成せず、その代わりに段階ニ)において緩衝フィルムの一面に光吸収層を形成し、光吸収層の表面に接着剤樹脂をコーティングして上部プリズムシートと接着した後、以降の手順を行って、最終の光学複合シートを得た(図5c参照)。
実施例1の段階イ)~ホ)の手順を繰り返すが、段階ロ)において下部プリズムシートの基材フィルムの他面に光吸収層を形成せず、以降の手順を行って、最終の光学複合シートを得た(図6参照)。
液晶表示装置(55インチLED直下型、220V、LG電子)から、液晶表示パネルの背面に位置する光学フィルム(反射偏光フィルム、プリズムシートなど)を除去し、その位置に光学複合シートを配置した。
光学複合シートを表示装置に適用し、スペクトロラジオメーター(Spectroradiometer、SR-3、TOPCON、Working Distance:660mm、Field Spec.:0.2D)を用いて、各色別の輝度と、CIE1931色度座標xyと、CIE1976色度座標u'v'とを測定し、これを用いて色域(color gamut)の面積およびDCI重畳比等を算出した。その結果を下記表に示した。
実施例1の段階イ)の手順を繰り返して光吸収層組成物を調製し、これを厚さ100μmのPETフィルムの一面にコーティングし、乾燥および硬化して、厚さ3μmの光吸収層を形成した。スペクトロフォトメーターを用いて590nmの波長に対する光透過率を測定した。その結果を下記表に示した。

Claims (10)
- 互いに異なる光学的特性を有する第1樹脂層および第2樹脂層が交互に100層~2000層に積層される反射偏光フィルムと、
前記反射偏光フィルムの下に配置されるプリズムシートと、
前記プリズムシートの下に配置される光拡散層と、
前記反射偏光フィルム、前記プリズムシート、および前記光拡散層のいずれかの一面に配置され、特定波長帯域の光を選択的に吸収する光吸収層とを含む、光学複合シート。 - 前記光学複合シートが、前記反射偏光フィルムと前記プリズムシートとの間に緩衝フィルムをさらに含み、
前記反射偏光フィルム、前記緩衝フィルム、前記プリズムシート、前記光拡散層、および前記光吸収層は互いに直接または間接的に結合される、請求項1に記載の光学複合シート。 - 前記反射偏光フィルムが50μm~200μmの厚さを有し、
前記緩衝フィルムが50μm~200μmの厚さを有し、
前記プリズムシート50μm~350μmの厚さを有し、
前記光拡散層が3μm~30μmの厚さを有し、
前記光吸収層が1μm~100μmの厚さを有する、請求項2に記載の光学複合シート。 - 前記プリズムシートが、互いに異なる高さを有する複数のプリズムパターンを含む、請求項1に記載の光学複合シート。
- 前記光学複合シートの下部に光が入射され上部に出射し、
前記光吸収層が前記プリズムシートよりも下に配置される、請求項1に記載の光学複合シート。 - 前記プリズムシートが、基材層と前記基材層の一面に形成されたパターン層とを含み、
前記基材層の他面に前記光吸収層が配置され、
前記光吸収層の表面に前記光拡散層が配置される、請求項1に記載の光学複合シート。 - 前記光学複合シートが580nm~610nmの波長帯域内で色透過率の最低値を有し、前記色透過率の最低値が0.6以下であり、
前記色透過率が測定されるために、連続発光スペクトルを有する白色光を出射する光源が用意され、前記光源からの光が前記光学複合シートを通過するとき、前記光学複合シートからの光のスペクトル強度L1が測定され、
前記光学複合シートから前記光吸収層のみが除去された参照シートが用意され、前記光源からの光が前記参照シートを通過するとき、前記参照シートからの光のスペクトル強度L0が測定され、
前記色透過率はL1をL0で除した値である、請求項1に記載の光学複合シート。 - 前記光吸収層が、1種以上の光吸収剤と、バインダー樹脂とを含む、請求項1に記載の光学複合シート。
- 光源と、
前記光源からの光が入射され画像を表示する表示パネルと、
前記光源から前記表示パネルまでの光路に配置される光学複合シートとを含み、
前記光学複合シートは、
互いに異なる光学的特性を有する第1樹脂層および第2樹脂層が交互に100層~2000層に積層される反射偏光フィルムと、
前記反射偏光フィルムの下に配置されるプリズムシートと、
前記プリズムシートの下に配置される光拡散層と、
前記反射偏光フィルム、前記プリズムシート、および前記光拡散層のいずれかの一面に配置され、入射される光の特定波長帯域の光を選択的に吸収する光吸収層とを含む、表示装置。 - 前記表示装置は、
CIE1976色度座標u'v'におけるDCI重畳比が90%以上であり、
白色光に対して170cd/m2以上の輝度を示す、請求項9に記載の表示装置。
