Abstract
Description
用語「ウォッシュコート」は、当該技術分野において公知であり、通常、触媒の製造中の基材に適用される接着性コーティングを指す。
全ての材料は市販されており、別途記載のない限り、既知の供給元から入手した。
触媒1は、二重層構造を有する三元(Pd−Rh)触媒である。底層は、第1のCeZr混合酸化物、4重量%のLa安定化アルミナ、Baプロモーターのウォッシュコート上に担持されたPdからなる。底層のウォッシュコート担持量は約1.6g/in3で、Pd担持量は140g/ft3であった。上層は、第2のCeZr混合酸化物、及びLa安定化アルミナの、ウォッシュコート上に担持されたRhからなる。上層のウォッシュコート担持量は約1.0g/in3であり、Rh担持量は24g/ft3であった。触媒1の総ウォッシュコート担持量は約2.6g/in3であった。
触媒2を本発明に従って調製した。底層は、第1のCeZr混合酸化物、4重量%のLa安定化アルミナ、Baプロモーターのウォッシュコート上に担持されたPdからなる。底層のウォッシュコート担持量は約1.6g/in3で、Pd担持量は140g/ft3であった。上層は、第2のCeZr混合酸化物、La安定化アルミナのウォッシュコート上に担持されたRhナノ粒子(平均粒径が3.10nm、SDが0.92nmであるコロイド状Rhナノ粒子)からなる。上層のウォッシュコート担持量は約1.0g/in3であり、Rh担持量は24g/ft3であった。触媒2の総ウォッシュコート担持量は約2.6g/in3であった。
実施例1
ピーク温度950℃にて、1.8L直列4の自然吸気ガソリンエンジンを使用して、燃料カットエージングサイクルで20時間、比較触媒1及び触媒2をベンチエージングした。ベンチエージング後の触媒中のRhの平均粒径を、透過型電子顕微鏡法により分析した。
比較触媒1及び触媒2の上層の触媒ウォッシュコート粉末に使用されるRhの分散を、表2に示す組成を有する酸化性雰囲気ガス及び還元雰囲気ガスを用いた以下の条件下で、1050℃で4時間の水熱エージング前/後に、CO−パルス法により分析した。
ピーク温度950℃にて、1.8L直列4の自然吸気ガソリンエンジンを使用して、燃料カットエージングサイクルで20時間、比較触媒1及び触媒2をベンチエージングした。1.5リットルのエンジンを有する商用車で車両の排出を実施した。触媒の前後で排出量を測定した。
Claims (41)
- 白金族金属(PGM)ナノ粒子を含むTWC触媒組成物であって、前記PGMナノ粒子が、1nm以下の標準偏差(SD)で約1nm〜約20nmの平均粒径を有する、TWC触媒組成物。
- 前記PGMナノ粒子が、約2〜約15nmの平均粒径を有する、請求項1に記載のTWC触媒組成物。
- 前記PGMナノ粒子がRh又はPdである、請求項1又は2に記載のTWC触媒組成物。
- 無機酸化物を更に含む、請求項1〜3のいずれか一項に記載のTWC触媒組成物。
- 前記無機酸化物が、アルミナ、マグネシア、シリカ、ランタン、ネオジム、プラセオジム、酸化イットリウム、及びこれらの混合酸化物又は複合酸化物からなる群から選択される、請求項4に記載のTWC触媒組成物。
- 前記無機酸化物が、アルミナ又はランタナ/アルミナ複合酸化物である、請求項5に記載のTWC触媒組成物。
- 前記PGMナノ粒子が、前記無機酸化物上に担持されている、請求項4〜6のいずれか一項に記載のTWC触媒組成物。
- 酸素吸蔵能(OSC)材料、及び/又はアルカリ金属若しくはアルカリ土類金属成分を更に含む、請求項1〜7のいずれか一項に記載のTWC触媒組成物。
- 前記OSC材料が、酸化セリウム、酸化ジルコニウム、セリア−ジルコニア混合酸化物、及びアルミナ−セリア−ジルコニア混合酸化物からなる群から選択される、請求項8に記載のTWC触媒組成物。
- 前記OSC材料が、前記セリア−ジルコニア混合酸化物を含む、請求項8又は9に記載のTWC触媒組成物。
- 前記PGMナノ粒子が、前記OSC材料上に担持されている、請求項8〜10のいずれか一項に記載のTWC触媒組成物。
- 前記PGMナノ粒子が、前記OSC材料及び前記無機酸化物上に担持されている、請求項11に記載のTWC触媒組成物。
- 前記PGMナノ粒子が、950℃で20時間のエージング後、40nm未満の平均粒径を有する、請求項1〜12のいずれか一項に記載のTWC触媒組成物。
- 排気ガスを処理するための触媒物品であって、
基材と、
前記基材上の第1の触媒領域と、を含み、
前記第1の触媒領域が第1の白金族金属(PGM)成分を含み、前記第1のPGM成分がPGMナノ粒子を含み、前記PGMナノ粒子が、1nm以下の標準偏差(SD)で約1〜約20nmの平均粒径を有する、触媒物品。 - 前記PGMナノ粒子が、約2〜約15nmの平均粒径を有する、請求項14に記載の触媒物品。
- 前記PGMナノ粒子がRh又はPdである、請求項15に記載の触媒物品。
- 前記第1の触媒領域が、第1の無機酸化物を更に含む、請求項14〜16のいずれか一項に記載の触媒物品。
- 前記第1の無機酸化物が、アルミナ、マグネシア、シリカ、ランタン、ネオジム、プラセオジム、酸化イットリウム、及びこれらの混合酸化物又は複合酸化物からなる群から選択される、請求項17に記載の触媒物品。
- 前記第1の無機酸化物が、アルミナ又はランタナ/アルミナ複合酸化物である、請求項18に記載の触媒物品。
- 前記PGMナノ粒子が、前記第1の無機酸化物上に担持されている、請求項17〜19のいずれか一項に記載の触媒物品。
- 前記第1のPGM成分が、別のPGMを更に含む、請求項15〜20のいずれか一項に記載の触媒物品。
- 前記別のPGMが、白金、パラジウム、ロジウム、及びこれらの混合物からなる群から選択される、請求項21に記載の触媒物品。
- 前記第1の触媒領域が、前記PGMナノ粒子以外のPGMを実質的に含まない、請求項14〜20のいずれか一項に記載の触媒物品。
- 前記第1の触媒領域が、第1の酸素吸蔵能(OSC)材料、及び/又は第1のアルカリ金属若しくはアルカリ土類金属成分を更に含む、請求項14〜23のいずれか一項に記載の触媒物品。
- 前記第1のOSC材料が、酸化セリウム、酸化ジルコニウム、セリア−ジルコニア混合酸化物、及びアルミナ−セリア−ジルコニア混合酸化物からなる群から選択される、請求項24に記載の触媒物品。
- 前記第1のOSC材料が、前記セリア−ジルコニア混合酸化物を含む、請求項24又は25に記載の触媒物品。
- 前記PGMナノ粒子が、前記第1のOSC材料上に担持されている、請求項24〜26のいずれか一項に記載の触媒物品。
- 前記PGMナノ粒子が、前記第1のOSC材料及び前記第1の無機酸化物上に担持されている、請求項27に記載の触媒物品。
- 第2の触媒領域を更に含む、請求項14〜28のいずれか一項に記載の触媒物品。
- 前記第2の触媒領域が、第2のPGM成分を含む、請求項29に記載の触媒物品。
