第3エッジを有する第3圧潰エッジ領域であって、前記第3エッジは、前記複合サンドイッチパネルの公称厚さより少なくとも40%少ない第3の厚みを有し、前記第3圧潰エッジ領域では、少なくとも0.25インチの長さにわたって前記複合サンドイッチパネルの厚みが減少している、第3圧潰エッジ領域と、をさらに含む、先行するいずれかの付記に記載の複合サンドイッチパネル。
前記対向する金型によって形成される内部形状と、を含む圧縮成形ツールであって、前記内部形状は、公称厚さ、前記第1圧潰形成部によって形成された領域における第1の厚み、前記公称厚さと前記第1の厚みとの間に位置する遷移領域、ならびに、前記公称厚さ及び前記第1の厚みを囲む周囲領域を含み、前記第1の厚みは、前記公称厚さより少なくとも40%小さく、前記遷移領域の長さは、少なくとも0.25インチであり、前記周囲領域における厚みは、前記公称厚さより大きい、圧縮成形ツール。
Claims (12)
- 第1複合材外板、第2複合材外板、及び、中空セルコア材を、対向する金型を含むツール内に配置し、
前記対向する金型を用いて、前記第1複合材外板、前記第2複合材外板、及び、前記中空セルコア材を圧縮することにより、第1圧潰エッジ領域を有する複合サンドイッチパネルを圧縮成形し、前記第1圧潰エッジ領域は、前記複合サンドイッチパネルの公称厚さより少なくとも40%少ない第1の厚みを含む、方法。 - 前記ツールを閉じることにより、前記金型間に内部形状を形成することをさらに含み、前記内部形状は、前記第1圧潰エッジ領域を形成し、前記内部形状は、さらに、前記公称厚さより厚みの大きい周囲領域を含む、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記対向する金型のうちの一方における圧潰形成部を用いて、遷移領域内で第1圧潰エッジ領域における前記複合サンドイッチパネルの厚みを減らすことをさらに含み、前記遷移領域の長さは、少なくとも0.25インチである、請求項1又は2のいずれか1つに記載の方法。
- 前記圧潰形成部は、突出部を含む、請求項3に記載の方法。
- 数値制御機械を用いて前記第1圧潰エッジ領域を切断することにより、可視のコア材セルの無いフラットな外観を有する切断エッジを形成することをさらに含み、前記第1圧潰エッジ領域は、前記第1の厚みを有する、請求項1〜4のいずれか1つに記載の方法。
- 前記第1圧潰エッジ領域を切断することにより、前記複合サンドイッチパネルにおける前記第1の厚みを含む部分を除去する、請求項5に記載の方法。
- 前記部分は、前記第1の厚みの二倍の厚みをさらに含む、請求項6に記載の方法。
- 前記第1複合材外板、前記第2複合材外板、及び、前記中空セルコア材を圧縮する際に、第2圧潰エッジ領域及び第3圧潰エッジ領域を形成することと、
前記複合サンドイッチパネルの前記第2圧潰エッジ領域及び前記第3圧潰エッジ領域を形成しつつ、前記複合サンドイッチパネルの第4エッジから揮発性物質を逃がすことと、をさらに含む、請求項1〜7のいずれか1つに記載の方法。 - 第1複合材外板と、
第2複合材外板と、
前記第1複合材外板と前記第2複合材外板との間の中空セルコア材と、
第1エッジを有する第1圧潰エッジ領域と、を含む複合サンドイッチパネルであって、前記第1エッジは、前記複合サンドイッチパネルの公称厚さより少なくとも40%少ない第1の厚みを有し、前記第1圧潰エッジ領域では、少なくとも0.25インチの長さにわたって、前記複合サンドイッチパネルの厚みが減少しており、前記第1エッジは、圧延エッジである、複合サンドイッチパネル。 - 前記複合サンドイッチパネルは、航空機のライト・ヴァランスを形成し、前記第1エッジは、前記航空機の乗客に見えるものである、請求項9に記載の複合サンドイッチパネル。
- 第2エッジを有する第2圧潰エッジ領域であって、前記第2エッジは、前記複合サンドイッチパネルの公称厚さより少なくとも40%少ない第2の厚みを有し、前記第2圧潰エッジ領域では、少なくとも0.25インチの長さにわたって前記複合サンドイッチパネルの厚みが減少している、第2圧潰エッジ領域と、
第3エッジを有する第3圧潰エッジ領域であって、前記第3エッジは、前記複合サンドイッチパネルの公称厚さより少なくとも40%少ない第3の厚みを有し、前記第3圧潰エッジ領域では、少なくとも0.25インチの長さにわたって前記複合サンドイッチパネルの厚みが減少している、第3圧潰エッジ領域と、をさらに含む、請求項9又は10に記載の複合サンドイッチパネル。 - 可視のコア材セルを有する開放エッジであって、前記複合サンドイッチパネルの前記公称厚さである開放エッジと、
