導波領域に対して開始領域とは反対側にあり、非開始端を有する非開始領域と、を含む光ガイドであって、非開始端は第1の面内方向に平行な第2の面内方向に沿って延び、
導波領域は実質的に一定の厚さであり、
非開始領域は、開始端から非開始端へと光ガイド内を進む可視光の非開始端による可視の逆行反射を低減するための反射防止機構を含む、光ガイド。
自身の半値全幅により区切られ、30度未満の半値全幅を有し、光ガイドの全出力強度の75%超を含む、1次ピークと、
光ガイドの全出力強度の5%以下を含む2次ピークとを含む、平板光ガイド。
Claims (20)
- 第1の面内方向に沿って延びる開始端を有する開始領域と、
導波領域と、
前記導波領域に対して前記開始領域とは反対側にあり、非開始端を有する非開始領域と、を含む光ガイドであって、
前記非開始端は前記第1の面内方向に平行な第2の面内方向に沿って延び、
前記導波領域は実質的に一定の厚さであり、
前記非開始領域は、前記開始端から前記非開始端へと前記光ガイド内を進む可視光の前記非開始端による可視の逆行反射を低減するための反射防止機構を含む、光ガイド。 - 前記反射防止機構は前記非開始端上に配置された吸収性塗料を含む、請求項1に記載の光ガイド。
- 前記反射防止機構は前記第2の面内方向に直交する厚さ方向に沿って延びる複数の構造体を含む、請求項1に記載の光ガイド。
- 前記複数の構造体は線状プリズムを含む、請求項3に記載の光ガイド。
- 前記複数の構造体のそれぞれが頂角を有し、各頂角は45度未満である、請求項3に記載の光ガイド。
- 前記光ガイドが可撓性である、請求項1に記載の光ガイド。
- 前記反射防止機構は前記光ガイドの前記非開始端上に配置された吸収性テープを含む、請求項1に記載の光ガイド。
- 前記反射防止機構は前記非開始端に近接配置されているが前記非開始端上にはない吸収性テープを含み、前記吸収性テープの配置及び前記非開始端の形状は、前記開始端から前記非開始端に入射する光のうちの少なくとも一部が前記吸収性テープ内に結合されるように構成されている、請求項1に記載の光ガイド。
- 前記反射防止機構は前記非開始端付近の急激に密集する抽出体領域を含む、請求項1に記載の光ガイド。
- 前記反射防止機構はナノ構造反射防止面を含む、請求項1に記載の光ガイド。
- 前記反射防止機構は前記非開始端に近接して前記非開始端に平行に延びる溝を含み、前記溝はカーボンブラックを含む、請求項1に記載の光ガイド。
- 前記反射防止機構は前記非開始端上に反射防止コーティングを含む、請求項1に記載の光ガイド。
- 前記反射防止機構はモスアイ構造を含む、請求項1に記載の光ガイド。
- 前記反射防止機構はダウンコンバータを含む、請求項1に記載の光ガイド。
- 請求項1に記載の光ガイドを含むバックライト。
- 請求項15に記載のバックライトを含むディスプレイ。
- 開始端、及び前記開始端において可視光が平板光ガイド中に結合される際の特性出力分布を有する平板光ガイドであって、極角の関数としての可視強度により特徴づけられる前記出力分布は、
自身の半値全幅により区切られ、30度未満の半値全幅を有し、前記光ガイドの全出力強度の75%超を含む、1次ピークと、
前記光ガイドの前記全出力強度の5%以下を含む2次ピークとを含む、平板光ガイド。 - 前記1次ピークは前記光ガイドの前記全出力強度の80%超を含み、前記2次ピークは前記光ガイドの前記全出力強度の1%以下を含む、請求項17に記載の光ガイド。
