Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a dual-polarized transmission / reception antenna, an antenna unit, and a timepiece, and relates to an antenna for GPS, for example, which is mounted on a metal housing such as a wristwatch and performs transmission and reception of vertical polarization and horizontal polarization.
For example, in a small portable terminal or a watch, the case where an antenna is arranged in a housing containing metal is increasing. For example,
However, in the technologies described in
In addition, when an antenna is incorporated in a metal casing, there is a problem that the characteristics as an antenna deteriorate due to the influence of a metal such as a battery or the influence of a movement in a watch.
By the way, when transmitting and receiving two polarizations of vertical polarization and horizontal polarization, two feeding points corresponding to both polarizations are required.
As a technique for transmitting and receiving such two polarized waves, a polarization sharing antenna has been proposed (see
However, in the conventional dual-polarized antenna, it is necessary to prepare a feeding line for each of two vertically polarized antennas and horizontally polarized antennas arranged on the same plane.
In order to transmit and receive two antennas simultaneously, it is necessary to prepare a high-frequency circuit for each of the vertically polarized antenna and the horizontally polarized antenna.
An object of the present invention is to enable transmission / reception of vertically polarized waves and horizontally polarized waves with a simpler configuration with less characteristic deterioration due to a casing having a metal surface portion.

As shown in FIG. 1, the dual-polarized transmission /
The
The
In this embodiment, the

The
The
At one end of the
The predetermined distance s is set to a distance at which a required capacitance amount can be obtained according to the required degree of miniaturization.
In the present embodiment, the predetermined distance s is set to 0.1 mm, but the present invention is not limited to this. For example, although it depends on the dielectric constant of the
Note that the

In this way, the

FIG. 6 shows the return loss characteristics of the dual-polarized transmission /
According to the return loss characteristic shown in FIG. 6, the resonance frequency is 1.574 GHz in the dual-polarized transmission /
The band that satisfies the return loss ≦ −6 dB is 8 MHz (BW = 8.539 MHz), which satisfies the GPS bandwidth (2 MHz).
FIG. 7 shows the radiation characteristics of the dual-polarized transmission /
FIG. 7A shows radiation characteristics in the XY plane, FIG. 7B shows radiation characteristics in the ZX plane, and FIG. 7C shows radiation characteristics in the ZY plane.
As shown in FIG. 7A, this dual-polarized transmission /
As shown by the dotted line A in FIG. 7B, the maximum value M01 of Eθ is 36.00 °, the maximum value M02 of Eφ is 339.00 °, and both horizontal and vertical polarizations are + Z (windshield direction). The maximum radiation direction is obtained.
In FIG. 7B, the
On the other hand, as shown in FIG. 7C, the maximum value M01 of Eθ is 351.00 °, and the maximum value M02 of Eφ is 276.00 °. However, as shown in FIG. 7C, Eφ is substantially the same as the maximum value M02 up to about 320.00 °. Therefore, as indicated by a dotted line B in FIG. 7C, the maximum radiation directions of both horizontal and vertical polarizations are obtained in + Z (windshield direction).
In FIG. 7C, the
