Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to an apparatus for generating plasma by applying a high-frequency potential to an electrode, and a plasma generation method using the apparatus.
Atmospheric pressure low-temperature plasma jet (plasma jet flow) that can be used under atmospheric pressure without the need for vacuum equipment is used for medical purposes such as hemostasis and wound healing in addition to industrial applications such as polymer hydrophilization. Yes. For example,
In view of this, a high-frequency plasma jet generation device that is driven by applying a high-frequency potential in a frequency band of the MHz order has been developed. Non-Patent
However, the viewpoint of obtaining a high-density and long plasma jet is that the jet length of the plasma generated by the plasma generation apparatus using the high-frequency power source as disclosed in
Accordingly, an object of the present invention is to provide an apparatus capable of generating a high-density and long plasma jet.
The plasma generation apparatus of the present invention that has solved the above problems has a front end and a rear end, a tubular body for ejecting plasma from the front end side, and a medium gas connected to the tubular body, into the tubular body A gas supply unit for supplying the first electrode, a first electrode provided on the outer surface of the tubular body and connected to a constant potential including a ground potential, and an outer surface of the tubular body and behind the rear end of the first electrode And a second electrode to which a high-frequency potential of 100 kHz or more is applied, and the length L1 of the first electrode is shorter than the length L2 of the second electrode in the long axis direction of the tubular body Has a gist. Thus, by making the length of the first electrode shorter than the length of the second electrode, plasma (plasma jet) ejected from the tip of the tubular body can be generated with high density and length.
The ratio (L1 / L2) of the length L1 of the first electrode to the length L2 of the second electrode is preferably 0.8 or less. By setting L1 / L2 in this way, a long plasma jet can be easily obtained.
In the long axis direction of the tubular body, the length L1 of the first electrode is preferably 0.5 mm or more and 50 mm or less. By setting the length L1 of the first electrode within the above range, a long plasma jet can be easily obtained.
In the major axis direction of the tubular body, the length from the rear end of the first electrode to the front end of the second electrode is preferably 0.1 times or more the length of the first electrode. In this way, by setting the length from the rear end of the first electrode to the front end of the second electrode, discharge is likely to occur between the first electrode and the second electrode.
It is preferable that the length L2 of the second electrode in the major axis direction of the tubular body is one or more times longer than the outer diameter of the tubular body. By setting the outer diameter of the tubular body and the length of the second electrode within the above ranges, a long plasma jet can be easily obtained.
It is preferable that the tip of the first electrode is provided in a region within 20 mm from the tip of the tubular body. Thus, by providing the front-end | tip of a 1st electrode, the length of the plasma jet ejected from the front-end | tip of a tubular body is securable.
It is preferable that the outer surface of the first electrode and the outer surface of the second electrode are covered with an insulator. In this way, if both the first electrode and the second electrode are covered with the insulator, it is possible to suppress the occurrence of unintended discharge between the plasma jet and other electrodes outside the tubular body. .
The plasma generating apparatus of the present invention includes a third electrode provided on the outer surface of the tubular body and behind the rear end of the second electrode and connected to a constant potential including a ground potential, and the outer surface of the tubular body. And a fourth electrode which is provided behind the rear end of the third electrode and to which a direct-current pulse potential or a low-frequency potential is applied. By providing the third electrode and the fourth electrode in this way, a discharge occurs between the third electrode and the fourth electrode, and plasma is generated. Since the charged particles and the excited particles in the generated plasma reach the vicinity of the second electrode, the charged particles and the excited particles function as a seed fire in the discharge between the first electrode and the second electrode. Discharge easily occurs between the electrode and the second electrode.
The present invention also provides a plasma generation method. The plasma generation method of the present invention is a method of ejecting plasma from the tip of a tubular body using the above plasma generation apparatus, wherein the first medium gas is supplied into the tubular body, and a DC pulse is applied to the fourth electrode. A step B of applying a potential or a low-frequency potential; a step C of supplying a second medium gas into the tubular body; a step D of stopping the supply of the first medium gas; and a step of applying a high-frequency potential to the second electrode E and step F of canceling the application of the DC pulse potential or the low-frequency potential to the fourth electrode. A high-density and long plasma jet can be generated by the above method. In the plasma generation method, it is preferable that the first medium gas is helium gas, argon gas, or a mixed gas of helium and argon, and the second medium gas is argon gas.
According to the plasma generator of the present invention, plasma (plasma jet) ejected from the tip of the tubular body can be generated with high density and length.
First, the configuration of the plasma generation apparatus will be described with reference to FIG. The plasma generation apparatus 1 (1A) of the present invention has a front end and a rear end, and is connected to the
The
The
The outer diameter of the
The
At least a
The electrode may be provided only on a part of the
The
In the major axis direction of the
The position where the
The outer surface of the
Only a part of the outer surface of the
The
The frequency of the potential applied to the
The potential applied to the
The length of the
In the
The smaller the ratio (L1 / L2) of the length L1 of the
The length L2 of the
The outer diameter of the

Next, a configuration example of the

The frequency of the potential applied to the

The

FIG. 5 shows an example in which the second medium gas is argon gas.
As shown in FIG. 6, the supply of the first medium gas is stopped (step D). In Steps A to B, since the
As shown in FIG. 7, a high-frequency potential is applied to the second electrode 12 (step E). As a result, discharge occurs between the

First, the second medium gas is supplied into the tubular body 2 (Step G). Step G can be performed in the same manner as Step C above.
A high frequency potential is applied to the second electrode 12 (step H). Step H can be performed in the same manner as Step E described above.
