例えば、互いに相溶しない3種の液状油、色剤と親和性のある連続相油分、肌密着性油分、外層染み出し油分を配合することで、口紅を使用する際に外層染み出し油分のみがカップに触れるため色移りしない技術(特許文献1)、揮発性油分と撥水性ポリマーを組み合わせることで、色移りを防止しながらなめらかな塗り心地を保ちつつ、保水性を向上させる技術(特許文献2)、特定多価アルコール変性シリコーンとこれを相溶する特定のエステル油で水を添加混合した場合に相分離させることで、色移りを防止する技術(特許文献3)等があった。
しかしながら、特許文献1の技術では、塗布後に化粧膜が2層に分かれることにより色移り防止効果を出しているが、経時の色持ちが十分ではなかった。また、化粧直し時など口紅を再度塗布する際に上滑りし、色つきが悪くなる問題があった。特許文献2の技術では、揮発性油が蒸発した後に形成される皮膜により色移りしにくい効果が現れるが、乾燥感とつっぱり感が感じられ、塗布面のツヤが満足いくものではなかった。特許文献3の技術では、色移りしにくい効果が弱く、使用感がなめらか過ぎるために***の縦皺が目立つなどの仕上がりの点で満足いくものではなかった。

更に成分(C)を加えることによって上記分離が促進されることがわかった。塗布後の成分(A)と成分(B)の分離がより促進されることにより、色移り防止効果を向上させることが可能となったと考えられる。
