More specifically, a material that can be suitably used as a material for an electron injection layer of an organic electroluminescent element that can be used as a display device such as a display unit of an electronic device or a lighting device, and an organic electric field that is manufactured using the material. The present invention relates to a light emitting element, a manufacturing method thereof, and a thin film solar cell.
Organic electroluminescent elements (organic EL elements) are expected as new light-emitting elements that can be applied to thin, flexible and flexible display devices and lighting.
The organic electroluminescent element has a structure in which one or more kinds of layers including a light emitting layer formed by containing a luminescent organic compound are sandwiched between an anode and a cathode, and from a hole and a cathode injected from the anode. The light-emitting organic compound is excited by using energy when the injected electrons recombine to obtain light emission. The organic electroluminescent element is a current-driven element, and various studies have been made on the element structure and the material of the layers constituting the element in order to utilize the flowing current more efficiently.
The organic electroluminescent element in which the layers between the cathode and the anode are all formed of an organic compound is likely to be deteriorated by oxygen and water as a result, and strict sealing is indispensable in order to prevent these intrusions. This causes a complicated manufacturing process of the organic electroluminescent element.
More recently, in order to improve the durability while ensuring the performance of the organic EL device, as an electron injection layer not containing an alkali metal, for example, Non-Patent
However, the electron injection layer of the conventional organic EL element has insufficient electron injection property.
For example, by using polyethyleneimine as a material for the electron injection layer of the organic EL element, excellent electron injection properties can be obtained. However, since polyethyleneimine has no electrical conductivity, it can be used only in an ultrathin film, and the allowable range of the film thickness is small, so that it is not suitable for practical use. In addition, there are NH bonds that are unstable to electrical stimulation in the polyethyleneimine molecule. For this reason, the organic EL device having an electron injection layer made of polyethyleneimine has a rapid deterioration in luminance and insufficient durability.
This invention is made | formed in view of the said situation, and makes it a subject to provide the electron injection layer material which is the material which has electroconductivity, and can make the organic EL element excellent in electron injection property.
Moreover, this invention makes it a subject to provide the manufacturing method of the organic thin-film solar cell which has an electron injection layer excellent in electron injection property, an organic EL element, and an organic EL element.
Another object of the present invention is to provide a display device and a lighting device including an organic EL element having an electron injection layer having excellent electron injection properties.
The present inventors refer to the effect of polyethyleneimine shown in Non-Patent Document 3 as a material used for the electron injection layer, but it has a tertiary amine that is resistant to electrical stimulation instead of a primary as a terminal group. As a result of focusing on organic materials having electron transport performance as a central skeleton, the inventors found that the material has conductivity, excellent electron injection and electron transport properties, and excellent durability. The present invention has been reached.
More specifically, in the organic material, an amino group and a cathode material are coordinated to form a dipole (interface dipole). This direction is a direction from the cathode side toward the light emitting layer side. Therefore, by forming the electron injection layer using the organic material, electron injection from the cathode to the light emitting layer is promoted.
Furthermore, the present inventors have found that the solubility of the organic material in a solvent is improved by adding an amino group in which a hydrogen atom of ammonia is substituted with a monovalent alkyl group to an organic compound. Therefore, the electron injection layer containing the organic compound can be formed by a method in which the organic material is dissolved in a solvent to form a solution and applied.
The gist of the present invention made based on the above findings is as follows.
