Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a coating apparatus and a method for manufacturing a coating film.
2. Description of the Related Art Conventionally, as a method for producing a coating film, for example, a method of forming a coating film by applying a coating liquid onto an object to be coated such as a sheet member using a die coater provided with a die is used.
A die coater provided with such a die is configured to form a coating film by applying a coating liquid onto a coating object with the die while moving the coating object. The die includes a pair of die blocks disposed so as to face each other, a manifold formed between the pair of die blocks, to which a coating liquid is supplied from one end side in the width direction, and the pair of dies. A slot formed between the blocks, which is supplied with a coating liquid from the manifold and discharges the supplied coating liquid from the leading edge of the die.
In this type of coating film manufacturing method, when the type, viscosity, flow rate, and the like of the coating liquid are set, the distribution in the width direction of the thickness of the coating film to be obtained does not vary based on this setting. As such, strictly designed dies are used.
However, since the die is strictly designed in this way, when the type of the coating liquid is changed, the thickness of the coating film varies in the width direction. In this case, since a newly designed die must be used in accordance with the change, it takes time and effort to replace the die, which is uneconomical.
Therefore, in order to suppress such variation in thickness, multiple bolts are arranged on the die along the width direction of the slot, and the tightening condition of the bolts is adjusted at a position corresponding to the region where the variation in thickness occurs. A coating apparatus configured to do this has been proposed (see Patent Document 1).
However, since the coating apparatus like
In view of the above circumstances, the present invention provides a coating apparatus and a coating film manufacturing method capable of relatively easily obtaining a coating film in which variation in the width direction of the coating film is suppressed. This is the issue.
The coating apparatus according to the present invention is
Equipped with a die that discharges the coating liquid to the workpiece,
The die is a pair of die blocks arranged so as to face each other, a manifold formed between the pair of die blocks, to which the coating liquid is supplied from the first end side in the width direction, A slot formed between a pair of die blocks, the coating liquid being supplied from the manifold, and a slot for discharging the supplied coating liquid from a tip edge of the die,
The manifold is formed to be inclined with respect to the tip edge so as to approach the tip edge as it goes from the first end side in the width direction to the second end side.
When the thickness of the coating film formed on the object to be coated and the thickness on the first end side is smaller than the thickness on the second end side, the interval between the slots is increased. In addition, when the thickness on the first end side is larger than the thickness on the second end side, the slot interval is adjusted so that the slot interval becomes smaller. It is configured.
Here, the “slot interval” refers to the shortest distance connecting each region forming a slot in a pair of die blocks.
According to such a configuration, the manifold is arranged to be inclined with respect to the tip edge so as to approach the tip edge of the die as it goes from the first end side to the second end side. The thickness variation of the coating film in the width direction is such that the thickness on the first end side is larger than the thickness on the second end side, or the thickness on the first end side is the second end. It can be made into any state of becoming smaller than the thickness of the part side.
In addition, when the thickness on the first end side is smaller than the thickness on the second end side, the pressure loss on the first end side of the coating liquid passing through the slot is 2 is larger than the pressure loss on the end side. Therefore, by increasing the gap between the slots, the pressure loss on the first end side decreases more than the pressure loss on the second end side. The difference in pressure loss is reduced. Thereby, since the balance of the pressure loss in the 1st edge part side and the 2nd edge part side can be made appropriate, the variation in the width direction of the thickness of a coating film can be suppressed.
On the other hand, when the thickness on the first end side is larger than the thickness on the second end side, the pressure loss on the first end side of the coating liquid passing through the slot is the first. 2 is smaller than the pressure loss on the end side. Therefore, by reducing the slot interval, the increase in the pressure loss on the first end side becomes larger than the increase in the pressure loss on the second end side. The difference in pressure loss is reduced. Thereby, since the balance of the pressure loss in the 1st edge part side and the 2nd edge part side can be made appropriate, the variation in the width direction of the thickness of a coating film can be suppressed.
Thus, by simply changing the slot spacing according to the thickness of the coating film on the first end side and the second end side, it is possible to obtain a coating film in which variations in thickness are suppressed. Can do.
Therefore, it is possible to obtain a coating film in which thickness variation in the width direction of the coating film is suppressed relatively easily.
In the coating apparatus having the above configuration,
A plurality of shim members having different thicknesses from each other;
It is preferable that the gap between the slots is adjusted by selecting one shim member from the plurality of shim members and interposing it between the pair of die blocks.
According to this configuration, when the thickness on the first end side is smaller than the thickness on the second end side, the shim member having a relatively large thickness is selected so that the slot interval is increased. The slot spacing can be adjusted. On the other hand, when the thickness on the first end side is larger than the thickness on the second end side, the slot spacing is selected by selecting a shim member having a relatively small thickness so that the slot spacing is reduced. Can be adjusted.
Thus, the slot spacing can be adjusted by selecting the shim member.
Here, for example, when adjusting the interval between the slots by tightening the bolts, the bolts may be loosened and the interval between the slots adjusted at the folding angle may vary. However, according to the above configuration, by interposing the shim member between the pair of die blocks, the slot interval is less likely to fluctuate than when a bolt is used.
Therefore, a coating film in which the variation in the thickness direction of the coating film is suppressed can be obtained more easily and reliably.

The method for producing a coating film according to the present invention includes:
Equipped with a die that discharges the coating liquid to the workpiece,
The die is formed between a pair of die blocks arranged to face each other, a manifold formed between the pair of die blocks, and supplied with the coating liquid on the first end side in the width direction, A slot formed between a pair of die blocks, the coating liquid being supplied from the manifold, and a slot for discharging the supplied coating liquid from a tip edge of the die,
The manifold is formed so as to be inclined with respect to the tip edge so as to approach the tip edge as it goes from the first end side in the width direction to the second end side. Using the device,
Forming the coating film by applying the coating liquid to the object to be coated;
Measuring the thickness of the coating film formed on the object to be coated and the thickness of the first end portion and the thickness of the second end portion; and
Based on the result measured in the measuring step, when the thickness on the first end side is smaller than the thickness on the second end side, the interval between the slots is increased, and And a step of adjusting the slot spacing so that the slot spacing is reduced when the thickness on the first end side is larger than the thickness on the second end side. .
According to such a configuration, based on the result of measuring the thickness on the first end side and the thickness on the second end side, the thickness on the first end side is the second end as in the above. When the thickness is smaller than the thickness on the part side, the slot interval can be adjusted so that the slot interval is increased. On the other hand, when the thickness on the first end side is larger than the thickness on the second end side, the slot interval can be adjusted so that the slot interval becomes smaller.
Thus, by adjusting the slot spacing, it is possible to suppress variations in the width direction of the thickness of the coating film to be obtained.
Therefore, it is possible to obtain a coating film in which variation in the thickness direction of the coating film is suppressed relatively easily.
In the manufacturing method of the coating film having the above configuration,
In the step of adjusting the interval between the slots,
Prepare multiple shim members with different thicknesses,
It is preferable to adjust the interval between the slots by selecting one shim member from the plurality of shim members and interposing it between the pair of die blocks.
According to such a configuration, based on the result of measuring the thickness on the first end side and the thickness on the second end side, the thickness on the first end side is the second end as in the above. When the thickness is smaller than the thickness on the part side, the shim members are selected so that the slot interval is increased, and the slot interval can be adjusted. On the other hand, when the thickness on the first end side is larger than the thickness on the second end side, the shim members can be selected so that the slot spacing becomes small, and the slot spacing can be adjusted. .
Thus, the slot spacing can be adjusted by selecting the shim member.
Further, similarly to the above, by interposing the shim member between the pair of die blocks, the interval between the slots is hardly changed.
Therefore, a coating film in which the variation in the thickness direction of the coating film is suppressed can be more easily and reliably obtained.
As described above, according to the present invention, there are provided a coating apparatus and a coating film manufacturing method capable of relatively easily obtaining a coating film in which variation in the width direction of the coating film is suppressed. Is done.
Hereinafter, a coating apparatus and a film manufacturing method according to an embodiment of the present invention will be described with reference to the drawings. Although this embodiment demonstrates the example which employ | adopted the sheet | seat member as a to-be-coated article, in this invention, a to-be-coated article is not specifically limited.
First, the
As shown in FIG.1 and FIG.2, the

As shown in FIGS. 2 to 4, the

In the present embodiment, a plurality of

As such a thickness gauge, a contact-type thickness gauge and a non-contact-type thickness gauge can be employed. Examples of the contact-type thickness gauge include a linear gauge. An example of the non-contact thickness gauge is an optical interference thickness gauge.

As shown in FIG. 5, the

As described above, the

The manifold 25 is formed to be inclined with respect to the

Reference Experimental Example A coating apparatus as described in FIG. 1 was used. As the sheet member, a polyethylene terephthalate (PET) film (product name MRF-38, manufactured by Mitsubishi Plastics, width 1920 mm, thickness 38 μm) was used. As a coating solution, a solution in which an acrylic resin was dissolved in ethyl acetate was used. The viscosity of the coating liquid was 10 Pa / s as a result of measurement at a shear rate of 1 s −1 using a rheometer (RS1, manufactured by HAAK). The inclination angle of the manifold with respect to a virtual straight line parallel to the tip edge of the die was set to 0.19 °. As shown in Table 1, this die has a coating film thickness of 20 m / min, when the flow rate supplied to the die by the pump is 8.8 L / mim, and the thickness of the shim member is 450 μm. The thickness is set so that there is little variation in the width direction.
Using this die, the coating liquid was applied to the sheet member under the conditions shown in Table 1 to form a coating film.
Next, the thickness of the formed coating film, that is, the thickness T1 on the first end side and the thickness T2 on the second end side of the manifold are set to a thickness measuring unit (trade name MCDP3700, manufactured by Otsuka Electronics Co., Ltd. ). Thicknesses T1 and T2 were measured at
Dimensionless film thickness deviation (-) = (T1-T2) / (average value of T1 and T2)
The results are shown in Table 1. The dimensionless film thickness deviation indicates the variation in the thickness direction of the coating film, and the greater the absolute value of the dimensionless film thickness deviation, the greater the thickness variation. As shown in Table 1, the dimensionless film thickness deviation was extremely small.
Experimental example 1
As shown in Table 1, except that the moving speed of the sheet member is changed to 10 m / min and the flow rate is changed to 4.4 L / min, the coating liquid is applied to the sheet member in the same manner as in the reference experimental example. A film was formed.
Similarly to the reference experiment example, the thickness T1 on the first end side and the thickness T2 on the second end side were measured for the thickness of the formed coating film. The dimensionless film thickness deviation was calculated from the thickness T1 on the first end side and the thickness T2 on the second end side obtained by the measurement. The results are shown in Table 1.
As a result, by changing the moving speed of the sheet member and the flow rate of the coating liquid, the absolute value of the dimensionless film thickness deviation was much larger than that of the reference example. Further, since the dimensionless film thickness deviation is a negative value (−0.10), it was found that the thickness T1 on the first end side is smaller than the thickness T2 on the second end side. .
Therefore, the die was disassembled, and instead of the shim member having a thickness of 450 μm, the shim member having a thickness of 500 μm was sandwiched between two die blocks, and the die was assembled again. By exchanging the shim member in this way, the slot interval is increased by the difference in thickness of the shim member before and after the exchange.
Then, under the same conditions as before the replacement of the shim member, a coating film is formed on the sheet member, and for the formed coating film, the first end side thickness T1 and the second end side thickness T2 Was measured.
As a result, as shown in Table 1, the dimensionless film thickness deviation was −0.01. As a result, it was found that the absolute value of the dimensionless film thickness deviation was much smaller after the shim member was changed than before the change, and thickness variation was suppressed. Moreover, the result of the dimensionless film thickness deviation comparable as a reference experiment example was obtained.
Experimental example 2
As shown in Table 1, the coating liquid was applied to the sheet member in the same manner as in the reference experimental example except that the moving speed of the sheet member was changed to 30 m / min and the flow rate was changed to 13.2 L / L.
Further, since the dimensionless film thickness deviation is a positive value (0.14), it was found that the thickness T1 on the first end side is larger than the thickness T2 on the first end side.
Therefore, the die was disassembled, and instead of the shim member having a thickness of 450 μm, the shim member having a thickness of 400 μm was sandwiched between two die blocks, and the die was assembled again. By exchanging the shim member in this way, the slot interval is reduced by the difference in thickness of the shim member before and after the exchange.
Then, under the same conditions as before the replacement of the shim member, a coating film is formed on the sheet member, and for the formed coating film, the first end side thickness T1 and the second end side thickness T2 Was measured.
As a result, as shown in Table 1, the dimensionless film thickness deviation was 0.01. As a result, it was found that the absolute value of the dimensionless film thickness deviation was much smaller after the shim member was changed than before the change, and thickness variation was suppressed. Moreover, the result of the dimensionless film thickness deviation comparable as a reference experiment example was obtained.
Experimental example 3
A coating apparatus similar to that in the reference experiment example was used except that the manifold was formed in parallel with the tip edge. Using the same sheet member and coating liquid as in the reference experimental example, the moving speed of the sheet member and the flow rate of the coating liquid were set as shown in Table 2. Then, as shown in Table 2, shim members having thicknesses of 400 μm, 200 μm, 150 μm, and 100 μm are sandwiched between two die blocks, respectively, and a coating solution is applied to the sheet member to form a coating film Formed.
Similar to the reference experimental example, the thickness of the formed coating film, which is the first end side (coating liquid supply side) and the second end side (coating liquid discharge side) of the manifold ) Was measured, and the dimensionless film thickness deviation was calculated from the obtained results. The results are shown in Table 2.
As shown in Table 2, it was found that the dimensionless film thickness deviation tends to increase as the thickness of the shim member increases. Even when the thickness of the shim member is reduced, the degree of suppression of the dimensionless film thickness deviation is far from sufficient as compared with Experimental Examples 1 and 2. When a shim member having a thickness of 100 μm was used, the coating liquid could not be applied because it exceeded the allowable pressure of the die, pump, and piping. As a result, when a die having a manifold formed parallel to the tip edge was used, it was not possible to suppress variations in thickness as in a die having a manifold inclined to the tip edge. .
