Description

Claims (43)
- 容器内の液体体積を測定するための装置であって、
前記容器に向けて電磁放射を放出するように配置および構成された複数の光源と、
前記複数の光源に光学的に結合可能な複数のセンサであって、それぞれが、前記複数の光源の少なくとも一部によって放出された前記電磁放射を検出するように配置および構成される、複数のセンサと、
前記複数のセンサのそれぞれから、前記検出された電磁放射の前記一部を表すデータを受信するように構成され、前記受信したデータを、複数のセンサによって検出された前記電磁放射を表す識別符号へと変換するように動作可能な処理ユニットと、
を備える、装置。 - 前記処理ユニットは、さらに、前記識別符号を、前記容器内の液体体積を表す参照識別符号に関連付けるように構成される、請求項1に記載の装置。
- 前記複数の光源、前記複数のセンサ、および前記処理ユニットは、筐体内に配置され、
前記筐体は、薬物送達デバイスに取り外し可能に連結することができるように構成される、請求項1に記載の装置。 - 前記薬物送達デバイスは、注射ペンである、請求項3に記載の装置。
- 前記筐体は、ペンキャップである、請求項4に記載の装置。
- 前記注射ペンおよび前記ペンキャップの少なくとも一方は、前記ペンキャップを所定の半径方向の向きで前記注射ペンに連結させるように構成された位置合わせ機能を備える、請求項5に記載の装置。
- 前記処理ユニットは、前記複数のセンサのそれぞれから前記検出された電磁放射の前記一部を表すデータと、前記複数のセンサによって検出された前記電磁放射を表す前記識別符号と、のうち少なくとも一方を一時的に記憶するように構成されたメモリを備える、請求項1に記載の装置。
- 前記処理ユニットは、複数の参照識別符号を記憶するように構成されたメモリを備え、
前記複数の参照識別符号のそれぞれは、前記容器内の液体体積を表す、請求項1に記載の装置。 - 前記処理ユニットは、情報を記憶するように構成されたRFIDチップを備え、
前記RFIDチップは、近距離無線通信が使用可能なデバイスに、前記記憶された情報を読み取らせるように構成される、請求項1に記載の装置。 - 前記光源は、発光ダイオードである、請求項1に記載の装置。
- 前記センサは、光検出器である、請求項1に記載の装置。
- 前記電磁放射は、赤外線放射である、請求項1に記載の装置。
- 前記電磁放射は、マイクロ波放射である、請求項1に記載の装置。
- 前記電磁放射は、パルス状に放出される、請求項1に記載の装置。
- リモートデバイスとの双方向通信を可能にするように構成された通信モジュールをさらに備える、請求項1に記載の装置。
- 信号品質を改善するための絶縁構造をさらに備える、請求項1に記載の装置。
- 前記絶縁構造は、前記装置の前記電子コンポーネントを外部の電磁雑音から遮蔽するように構成された金属裏張りを備える、請求項16に記載の装置。
- 前記装置の状態に関する情報をユーザに伝達するように構成されたディスプレイをさらに備える、請求項1に記載の装置。
- 前記状態は、残存投与量、使用履歴、残存電池寿命、無線通信状況、およびユーザリマインダの少なくとも1つを含む、請求項18に記載の装置。
- 前記ユーザが、前記装置の電源を入れること、前記装置の電源を切ること、前記装置をリセットすること、患者の行動の詳細を手動入力すること、容器の使用の詳細を手動入力すること、および、前記装置とリモートデバイスとの間の通信を手動で開始すること、のうち少なくとも1つを行うことができるように構成されたユーザ入力インタフェースをさらに備える、請求項1に記載の装置。
- 前記複数の光源は、前記容器の第1の側に配置され、
前記複数のセンサは、前記容器の第2の側に配置され、前記第2の側は前記第1の側の実質的に反対側である、請求項1に記載の装置。 - 前記複数の光源は、前記容器に対して第1半径方向位置に配置され、
前記複数のセンサは、第2半径方向位置に配置され、前記第2半径方向位置は、前記第1半径方向位置とは異なる、請求項1に記載の装置。 - 前記第2半径方向位置は、前記第1半径方向位置からおよそ180°にある、請求項22に記載の装置。
- 前記複数の光源は、実質的に直線上に配置される、請求項1に記載の装置。
- 前記複数のセンサは、実質的に直線上に配置される、請求項1に記載の装置。
- 薬物容器内の液体の体積を推定する方法であって、
複数の光源に、前記薬物容器に向けて電磁放射を放出させることと、
前記薬物容器を通った前記放出後の電磁放射の識別符号を複数のセンサにより検出することと、
前記識別符号を複数の参照識別符号と比較して、前記薬物容器内の前記液体の体積を決定することと、
を含む、方法。 - 前記薬物容器を通った前記放出後の電磁放射の前記識別符号を検出することは、前記複数の光源の少なくとも一部から放出された前記電磁放射の少なくとも一部を、前記複数のセンサデバイスのそれぞれによって検出することを含む、請求項26に記載の方法。
- 前記複数のセンサのそれぞれによって検出された前記電磁放射の前記一部は、前記識別符号にコンパイルされる、請求子27に記載の方法。
- 前記薬物容器内の前記液体の体積に基づいて、患者に送達された投与量を計算することをさらに含む、請求項26に記載の方法。
- 服用遵守を監視するために、前記患者に送達された前記投与量を、患者の投薬治療スケジュールと比較することをさらに含む、請求項29に記載の方法。
- 前記信号識別符号を背景光に対して補正することをさらに含む、請求項26に記載の方法。
- 前記補正は、前記複数の光源のそれぞれが暗い状態で前記複数のセンサによって検出された背景識別符号と、前記信号識別符号と、を比較することを含む、請求項31に記載の方法。
- 前記薬物容器内の投与量体積の範囲における前記識別符号を記録することにより、複数の参照識別符号を生成することをさらに含む、請求項26に記載の方法。
- 前記信号識別符号を、確率マッチングを使用して前記参照識別符号に関連付けることをさらに含み、
前記確率マッチングは、前記薬物容器内に残存する前記液体の体積を決定するように動作可能である、請求項26に記載の方法。 - 複数の光源に、一度目の電磁放射を前記注射ペンに向けて放出させることと、
前記注射ペンを通った前記放出後の電磁放射の第1識別符号を複数のセンサにより検出することと、
前記第1識別符号を複数の参照識別符号と比較して、前記注射ペン内の液体の前記第1体積を決定することと、
前記複数の光源に、前記一度目の後、二度目の電磁放射を前記注射ペンに向けて放出させることと、
前記注射ペンを通った前記放出後の電磁放射の第2識別符号を前記複数のセンサにより検出することと、
前記第2識別符号を前記複数の参照識別符号と比較して、前記注射ペン内の前記液体の前記第2体積を決定することと、
前記第1体積および前記第2体積に基づいて、前記注射ペンから送達された投与量を推定することと、
を含む、方法。 - 前記複数の光源および前記複数のセンサは、注射ペンキャップ内に配置され、
前記方法は、
前記注射ペンから前記注射ペンキャップが取り外される前に、前記第1識別符号を検出することと、
前記注射ペンに前記注射ペンキャップが戻された後に、前記第2識別符号を検出することと、
を含む、請求項35に記載の方法。 - 前記送達された投与量の情報を外部デバイスに伝達することをさらに含む、請求項35に記載の方法。
- 前記ペンキャップの非活動状態が所定期間続いた後、前記ペンキャップを節電モードに切り替えることを含む、請求項36に記載の方法。
- 前記薬物容器内に残存する液体の体積が極度に少ない場合に、ユーザに警告することをさらに含む、請求項35に記載の方法。
- 薬物貯蔵部を備える薬物送達デバイスと、前記薬物送達デバイスに取り外し可能に連結することができるように構成された投与量測定システムと、を備えた健康管理システムであって、
前記投与量測定システムは、
前記薬物貯蔵部に向けて電磁放射を放出するように配置および構成された複数の光源と、
前記複数の光源に光学的に結合可能な複数のセンサであって、それぞれが、前記薬物貯蔵部を通って伝達された電磁放射の量を検出するように配置および構成され、前記薬物貯蔵部を通って伝達された前記電磁放射の量は、前記薬物貯蔵部内に残存する液体の体積を表す識別符号である、複数のセンサと、
前記薬物貯蔵部内に残存する前記液体の体積を示す情報をユーザに提示するように構成されたディスプレイと、を備える、
健康管理システム。 - 前記投与量管理システムは、前記薬物貯蔵部内に残存する前記液体の体積を表すデータをリモートデバイスに伝達するように構成される、請求項40に記載の健康管理システム。
- 前記薬物貯蔵部内に残存する前記液体の体積を表す前記データのリモートデバイスへの伝達により、前記リモートデバイスが、前記患者に送達された投与量を計算することができる、請求項41に記載の健康管理システム。
- 前記投与量管理システムは、前記リモートデバイスからユーザの健康データを受信するように構成され、
前記ユーザの健康データは、ユーザの血糖値、ユーザの食事、ユーザの運動、およびユーザの家庭にて監視された健康データの少なくとも1つを含む、請求項41に記載の健康管理システム。
