Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a positive electrode and a lithium ion secondary battery using the positive electrode.
Conventionally, Li-based layered compounds such as LiCoO 2 and LiNi 1/3 Mn 1/3 Co 1/3 O 2 and spinel compounds such as LiMn 2 O 4 have been used as positive electrode materials (positive electrode active materials) for lithium ion secondary batteries. Has been. In recent years, polyanionic compounds typified by LiFePO 4 have attracted attention. Polyanionic compounds are known to have high thermal stability at high temperatures and high safety.
In a polyanionic compound, electrons are strongly attracted to the tetrahedral skeleton of the crystal lattice, and metal atoms in the crystal lattice are isolated. For this reason, the electronic conductivity of the polyanionic compound tends to be lower than that of the Li-based layered compound. In a lithium ion secondary battery using such a polyanionic compound having low electron conductivity as a positive electrode active material, there is a tendency that a sufficient capacity with respect to the theoretical capacity cannot be obtained or the rate characteristics are lowered.
It is disclosed that the lithium vanadium phosphate compound described in
However, since the number of particles existing in the electrode is increased by making the particles finer than conventional active material particles, a larger amount of conductive auxiliary is required than usual to impart conductivity to each particle. . If the amount of the conductive auxiliary agent is increased, the ratio of the active material particles present in the electrode is reduced, the electrode density is lowered, and various characteristics such as battery capacity and rate characteristics are deteriorated.
Patent Document 2 describes a method in which the powder density is improved and the electrode density is increased while a conductive additive is attached to the surface of the positive electrode active material.
However, such a method for improving the powder density by attaching a conductive additive to the surface of the positive electrode active material has a problem that the rate discharge characteristics are inferior because it is performed by applying a strong pressure and shearing force.
The present invention has been made in view of the above-described problems of the prior art, and an object thereof is to obtain a positive electrode that achieves both high electrode density and excellent rate discharge characteristics, and a lithium ion secondary battery using the positive electrode.

The positive electrode of the present embodiment includes a positive electrode active material and carbon attached to the surface thereof, the positive electrode active material is lithium vanadium phosphate, and the positive electrode is 1200 to 1200 in a Raman spectrum using an argon ion laser. has a peak P a (D band) located 1450 cm -1, a peak P B located 1450~1700cm -1 (G band), a peak P C located 780~980Cm -1, the wavenumbers in the region 200~1800cm-1, when the normalized intensity of the
(Positive electrode)
As illustrated in FIG. 2, the
(Positive electrode active material layer)
The positive electrode
(Positive electrode active material)
The positive electrode active material is preferably a compound represented by the following formula (1).
LiVOPO 4 (1)
The average primary particle diameter of LiVOPO 4 is preferably 30 nm to 300 nm. By using such a particle size, further excellent rate characteristics can be obtained.
Here, when the particle diameter is 300 nm or more, since the diffusion distance of lithium ions in the particle becomes relatively long, the conductivity may be lowered. Properties may be degraded.
The average primary particle diameter is more preferably in the range of 30 to 200 nm. According to such a configuration, since the diffusion distance of lithium ions in the particles is further shortened, conductivity is improved.
In addition, the measurement of an average primary particle diameter can be measured by the existing method, and can be measured with microscopes, such as a scanning electron microscope (SEM) and a transmission electron microscope (TEM).
(Conductive aid)
Examples of carbon as the conductive assistant include carbon blacks, graphites, carbon nanotubes (CNT), and vapor grown carbon fibers (VGCF). Carbon blacks include acetylene black, oil furnace, and ketjen black. It is more preferable to include one or more kinds of carbon including carbon blacks and graphites, carbon nanotubes (CNT), vapor grown carbon fibers (VGCF) and the like.
The mixing ratio of the conductive assistant is preferably 6 to 10% by weight with respect to the whole positive electrode. If the amount of the conductive additive is too small, the electron conductivity may be lowered and the rate discharge characteristics may be lowered. If the amount of the conductive additive is too large, the binding force with the current collector may be insufficient. .
(binder)
As binders, polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF), vinylidene fluoride-hexafluoropropylene-based fluororubber (VDF-HFP-based fluororubber), vinylidene fluoride-hexafluoropropylene-tetrafluoroethylene-based fluororubber (VDF-HFP-TFE-based) Fluorine rubber), aromatic polyamide, cellulose, styrene / butadiene rubber, isoprene rubber, butadiene rubber, ethylene / propylene rubber, and the like may be used. Also, thermoplastic elastomeric polymers such as styrene / butadiene / styrene block copolymers, hydrogenated products thereof, styrene / ethylene / butadiene / styrene copolymers, styrene / isoprene / styrene block copolymers, and hydrogenated products thereof. May be used. Further, syndiotactic 1,2-polybutadiene, ethylene / vinyl acetate copolymer, propylene / α-olefin (carbon number 2 to 12) copolymer and the like may be used. From the viewpoint of increasing the electrode density, the specific gravity of the polymer used as the binder is preferably greater than 1.2 g / cm 3 . Moreover, it is preferable that a weight average molecular weight is 700,000 or more from the point which makes an electrode density high and improves adhesive force.
It is preferable that the content rate of the binder contained in the positive electrode
(Positive electrode current collector)
The positive electrode
As described above, the positive electrode is composed of the above-described constituent materials, and it is more preferable that the Raman intensity of the V band is 0.24 or more and 0.28 or less because more excellent electrode density and rate characteristics can be obtained.
The Raman spectrum using an argon ion laser may be measured using a known Raman measuring apparatus using an argon ion laser, for example, using an argon ion laser having a wavelength of 514.532 nm.
When this
Further, when the normalized Raman intensity of the peak P C located wavenumber 780~980Cm -1 is 0.6 to 1.0, in amounts appropriate conductive auxiliary agent, the appropriate thickness membrane, the cathode active A structure that is uniformly applied to the surface of the material and has improved electron conductivity between the active materials can be obtained. Such a structure is considered to provide excellent rate discharge characteristics as a battery.
Here, when the normalized Raman intensity of the V band described above exceeds 0.28, the possibility that the conductive additive is altered becomes large. The normalized Raman intensity of the peak P C is less than 0.6 and a positive electrode active layer of conductive auxiliary agent adhering to the material surface ion conductivity is deteriorated to inhibit desorption of Li ions discharge The property is expected to deteriorate, and if it is larger than 1.0, the adhesion of the conductive assistant to the surface of the positive electrode active material becomes insufficient, and a high density of the electrode can be obtained because the aggregate of conductive assistant exists in the electrode. It is thought that there is a risk that it will not be possible.
A peak P A (D band) located 1200~1450cm -1, normalized Raman intensity and the wave number of the smallest (V band) between the two peaks of the peak P B located 1450~1700cm -1 (G band) normalized Raman intensity of the peak P C located 780~980Cm -1, is adjusted by the shear force during complexing treatment of cathode active material and the electrically conducting additive. Normalized Raman intensity of the V band and the force is increased up, normalized Raman intensity of the peak P C drops.
In order to adjust the V band to 0.28 or less, a method of reducing the number of revolutions of the compounding device, a method of shortening the processing time, a method of increasing the input amount of the active material and the conductive auxiliary agent, the inclination of the compounding device The method of installing so that it may become small is mentioned. These can be used alone or in combination of two or more.
Normalized Raman intensity of P C to 0.6 or more and 1.0 or less, the rotational speed and the processing time of the composite apparatus, appropriately adjusting the input amount of the active substance and conductive additive. These can be used alone or in combination of two or more.
Next, the configuration of the lithium secondary battery including the positive electrode described above will be described.

(Negative electrode)
The
(Electrolytes)
The electrolyte is impregnated into the positive electrode
As the organic solvent, a mixture of a cyclic carbonate and a chain carbonate can be used. Preferred examples of the cyclic carbonate include propylene carbonate, ethylene carbonate, fluoroethylene carbonate, and examples of the chain carbonate include diethyl carbonate, dimethyl carbonate, and methyl ethyl carbonate. These may be used alone or in combination of two or more at any ratio.
In the present embodiment, the electrolyte may be a gel electrolyte obtained by adding a gelling agent in addition to liquid.
(Separator)
The

The electrode manufacturing method according to the present embodiment includes a composite process, a slurry preparation process, an electrode application process, and a rolling process.
(Composite process)
First, in the composite step, the positive electrode active material and the conductive additive are mixed while applying a shearing force, and the conductive auxiliary agent is uniformly applied to the surface of the positive electrode active material while increasing the density of the composite particles to such an extent that the conductive additive does not deteriorate. To attach.
(Slurry production process)
Next, the composite particles composed of the positive electrode active material and the conductive additive are mixed with a binder and a solvent corresponding to the type thereof, for example, a solvent such as N-methyl-2-pyrrolidone or N, N-dimethylformamide in the case of PVDF. A slurry is prepared.
(Electrode production process)
The slurry is appropriately selected from known methods such as a doctor blade, a slot die, a nozzle, a gravure roll, and coating is performed. The amount of positive electrode supported can be adjusted by adjusting the amount of coating and the line speed. After applying the slurry, drying is performed to volatilize the solvent.
(Rolling process)
Finally, rolling is performed by a roll press to complete the positive electrode. At this time, a higher electrode density can be obtained by heating the roll and softening the binder. The roll temperature is preferably in the range of 100 ° C to 200 ° C.
(Method for producing negative electrode)
On the other hand, the negative electrode can be produced by a slurry production process, an electrode application process, and a rolling process excluding the above-described compounding process. Each process can be manufactured under the same conditions as the positive electrode.

(Evaluation of rate discharge characteristics)
The rate discharge characteristics (unit:%) of Example 1 were determined. The rate discharge characteristic is the ratio of the discharge capacity at 1 C when the discharge capacity at 0.1 C is 100%, and the degree to which the discharge characteristic is maintained from the low rate to the high rate was evaluated. The results are shown in Table 1. Higher rate discharge characteristics are preferable, but 70% or more was judged to be good.
(Evaluation of electrode density)
The electrode density was calculated from the weight of the electrode and the area and thickness of the coating film. The results are shown in Table 1. The higher the electrode density, the better, but it was judged that 2.10 (unit: g / cm 3 ) or more was good.
(Evaluation of Raman scattering intensity)
The Raman spectrum of the positive electrode was measured using an argon ion laser having a wavelength of 514.532 nm using an Argon Laser Raman apparatus manufactured by Horiba Joban Yvon. An example of the Raman spectrum is shown in FIG. As shown in FIG. 3, in the wave number region 200 to 1800 cm −1 , the Raman spectrum was normalized by setting the intensity of the peak P A (D band) to 1 and the minimum peak intensity to 0.
Raman intensity of the Raman intensities and peak P C between the peaks P A and the peak P B changes the measurement points of the positive electrode, the average value of those measured 10 points.
As is apparent from the results shown in Table 1, the minimum normalized Raman scattering intensity between two peaks existing between wave numbers 1200 to 1700 cm −1 of the positive electrode is 0.28 or less, and between wave numbers 780 to 980 cm −1. It can be seen that when the maximum normalized Raman scattering intensity is 0.6 or more and 1.0 or less, excellent discharge characteristics are exhibited even under high rate conditions, and a high electrode density can be obtained.
