Description

The present invention relates to an electric wire with a terminal fitting and a manufacturing method thereof.

Conventionally, for example, an electric wire with a terminal metal fitting described in Patent Document 1 is known as an electric wire with a terminal metal fitting in which a terminal metal fitting is connected to a conductive member that covers a core wire made of a plurality of metal strands. In this electric wire with terminal fittings, a brazing material is placed on the terminal fitting and the core wire of the electric wire is superposed on the brazing material and heated to electrically connect the terminal fitting and the core wire with the brazing material. Connected to.

By the way, since the electric wire with a terminal metal fitting of the said patent document 1 fixes a terminal metal fitting and a core wire with a wax material, the manufacturing cost of the electric wire with a terminal metal fitting increases, such as the work process for mounting a wax material increases. End up. Therefore, with the terminal fitting and the tin-plated core wire placed on the upper surface of the flat lower electrode, the terminal fitting and the metal element are supported with support members etc. from both sides in the width direction. A method of welding and fixing a terminal metal fitting and a metal element wire by applying current and heating while pressing a wire with a flat upper electrode from the upper side has been studied.

However, according to such a fixing method, when the terminal fitting and the core wire are sandwiched between both electrodes from above and below with the support member or the like supported from both sides in the width direction, the metal strand of the core wire May be crushed and lifted, and the metal strand may enter the gap between the electrode and the support member. As a result, a metal strand that is not welded to the terminal fitting is generated, and there is a possibility that the metal strand and the terminal fitting cannot be sufficiently fixed.

The present invention has been created in view of the above-described problem, and prevents the generation of a metal wire that is not welded to a terminal metal fitting, thereby favorably fixing between the terminal metal fitting and the metal element wire. With the goal.

The electric wire with a terminal metal fitting of the present invention is an electric wire with a terminal metal fitting that is connected to a conductive member made of a plurality of metal strands, and provided at the end of the terminal metal fitting and the conductive member. The overlapping portion is arranged to be overlapped, and the overlapping portion has a non-fixed portion that is not fixed to the terminal fitting and a fixing portion that is fixed to the terminal fitting, and the fixing portion is arranged in the width direction. The non-adhered portion is provided in a form bulging outward.

The electric wire with terminal fitting has a shape in which both sides in the width direction of the fixed portion swell outward from the non-fixed portion. Such a shape of the fixed portion is such that when the fixed portion is fixed to the terminal fitting in the manufacturing process, the width of the fixed portion is not supported by the support member or the like in the state where both sides in the width direction of the fixed portion are not supported. The fixing portion is pressed and crushed by an electrode or the like having a gap. For this reason, when the fixing portion is pressed with an electrode or the like in the manufacturing process, it is possible to prevent the metal strand from entering the gap between the electrode or the like and the support member or the like. Furthermore, since the fixing portion has such a shape, the metal strand in the fixing portion is fixed to the terminal fitting over the entire width direction of the overlapped portion, so that the metal strand that is not welded to the terminal fitting. Can be prevented. As described above, in the electric wire with terminal fitting, it is possible to satisfactorily fix the terminal fitting and the metal strand by preventing the metal strand not welded to the terminal fitting from being generated.

In the electric wire with terminal fitting, the terminal fitting may have a width of a portion overlapping the non-fixed portion smaller than a width of a portion overlapping the fixed portion.

According to this configuration, when the metal wire and the terminal fitting in the fixed portion are fixed, the both sides of the non-fixed portion in the width direction are supported by the support member or the like, so that the non-fixed portion of the terminal fitting overlaps. A portion overlapping with the fixing portion having a width larger than the portion interferes with the support member or the like in the front-rear direction. For this reason, when the metal element wire and the terminal fitting are fixed to each other at the fixing portion, the terminal fitting can be prevented from being displaced in the front-rear direction, and the gap between the terminal fitting and the metal element wire can be further improved. Can be fixed.

Another aspect of the present invention is a method of manufacturing an electric wire with a terminal fitting, wherein the terminal fitting is fixedly connected to a conductive member made of a plurality of metal wires, and the terminal fitting and the end of the conductive member An overlapping step of overlapping the provided overlapping portions; a supporting step of supporting both sides in the width direction of the non-adhering portions that are not fixed to the terminal fittings of the overlapping portions by a supporting member; and In the state supported by the clamping part, the clamping part fixed to the terminal metal fitting and the terminal metal fitting are clamped between a pair of electrodes, and the clamping part and the terminal metal fitting are pressed. An energization step of passing a current between the pair of electrodes in a pressurized state, and in the support step, a gap is provided between both sides of the fixing portion in the width direction and the support member. The non-fixed portion is supported by the support member, and the front The clamping step, characterized by clamping the said terminal metal fitting and the fixing portion between the pair of electrodes having a width larger than that of the non-stick portion.

According to the above method for manufacturing the electric wire with terminal fitting, in the supporting step, the non-fixed portion is supported by the support member in a form in which a gap is provided between both sides of the fixed portion in the width direction and the support member. The fixed portion and the terminal fitting can be sandwiched between a pair of electrodes having a width equal to or larger than the width of the non-fixed portion. For this reason, it can prevent that a metal strand penetrates into the clearance gap between an electrode and a supporting member in a clamping process. As a result, it is possible to prevent occurrence of a metal strand that is not welded to the terminal fitting, and it is possible to favorably fix the terminal fitting and the metal strand.

In the above method for manufacturing an electric wire with terminal fitting, in the clamping step, the fixing portion and the terminal fitting may be clamped between the pair of electrodes having a width larger than the width of the non-fixing portion.

According to this manufacturing method, even if the electrode is slightly displaced in the width direction in the sandwiching step, the electrode can be maintained in a state of being overlapped over the entire width direction of the overlapping portion. It is possible to effectively prevent the metal strand from entering the gap between the support member. As a result, the terminal metal fitting and the metal element wire can be fixed more satisfactorily.

ADVANTAGE OF THE INVENTION According to this invention, between a terminal metal fitting and a metal strand can be favorably fixed by preventing that the metal strand which is not welded to a terminal metal fitting arises.

<Embodiment 1>
The first embodiment will be described with reference to FIGS. 1 to 6. In this embodiment, the electric wire 1 with a terminal metal fitting shown in FIG. 1 is illustrated. As shown in FIG. 1, the electric wire 1 with terminal fitting is electrically connected to the braided wire 10 and the terminal fitting 20 by welding the terminal fitting 20 to the end of the braided wire (an example of a conductive member) 10. It has been done. In the following description, the upper side in FIG. 2, FIG. 4, and FIG. 5 is the upper side, and the left front side in FIG. 1 and the lower side in FIG. 2 to 5 and 7 are the width directions of the braided wire 10, the terminal fitting 20, and a pair of electrodes 41 and 42 to be described later.

The terminal fitting 20 is a flat plate made of copper or a copper alloy. As shown in FIG. 1, a circular through hole 22 connected to a mating terminal (not shown) is formed on the rear side of the terminal fitting 20. In addition, the front side of the terminal fitting 20 is a connection portion 24 that is connected to the braided wire 10 by overlapping the end portions of the braided wire 10.

Cutouts 26 are provided on both sides of the connecting portion 24 of the terminal fitting 20 in the width direction. A portion of the connecting portion 24 where the notches 26 are not provided on both sides in the width direction is a portion that overlaps a fixing portion 14A of the braided wire 10 described later (hereinafter, this portion is referred to as a terminal-side fixing portion 24A). ). On the other hand, a portion of the connecting portion 24 in which the notches 26 are provided on both sides in the width direction is a portion that overlaps a non-fixed portion 14B of the braided wire 10 to be described later (hereinafter, this portion is referred to as a terminal-side non-fixed portion). 24B). Moreover, in the connection part 24 of the terminal metal fitting 20, since the said notch 26 is provided, the width | variety of the terminal side non-adhesion part 24B is smaller than the width | variety of the terminal side fixation part 24A.

The braided wire 10 has a cylindrical shape, and as shown in FIG. 1, is a wire in which a plurality of thin metal wires 12 made of copper or a copper alloy are knitted in a mesh shape. A tin plating layer (not shown) is formed on the surface of the metal wire 12 by being tin-plated, and the occurrence of oxidation and rust of the metal wire 12 is suppressed. At the end of the braided wire 10, an overlapping portion 14 that overlaps the terminal fitting 20 is provided.

The overlapped portion 14 of the braided wire 10 is a fixed portion 14A that is fixed to the terminal fitting 20 by resistance welding on the front side, and a non-fixed portion 14B that is not fixed to the terminal fitting 20 on the rear side. As shown in FIG. 2, the overlapping portion 14 of the braided wire 10 has a hollow shape before resistance welding. Then, the overlapping portion 14 of the braided wire 10 is overlapped on the terminal fitting 20 and the fixing portion 14A is resistance welded, so that as shown in FIGS. The wire 12 is solidified by a molten tin plating from the tin plating layer of the element wire 12 to form a wide solid shape, and the fixing portion 14A is fixed to the terminal side fixing portion 24A of the terminal fitting 20.

Further, as shown in FIG. 1, the fixing portion 14 </ b> A in the overlapping portion 14 of the braided wire 10 is provided in a shape swelled in an arc shape outside the non-fixing portion 14 </ b> B in the overlapping portion 14 in the width direction. (Hereinafter, a portion of the fixing portion 14A that swells outward is referred to as a bulging portion 16). The metal wire 12 in the fixing portion 14A is fixed to the terminal-side fixing portion 24A of the terminal fitting 20 over the entire width direction of the overlapping portion 14.

Then, the manufacturing method of the electric wire 1 with a terminal metal fitting in this embodiment is demonstrated. In this method, the terminal fitting 20 and the braided wire 10 are connected by resistance welding using the welding apparatus 40. As shown in FIG. 2, the welding apparatus 40 includes a pair of tungsten electrodes 41 and 42 that are arranged vertically. In the pair of electrodes 41, 42, the upper surface 41A of the lower electrode 41 disposed on the lower side and the lower surface 42A of the upper electrode 42 disposed on the upper side are respectively formed flat, and the lower surface 42A of the upper electrode 42 The upper surface 41 </ b> A of the lower electrode 41 is arranged to face in parallel.

In this method, first, the connection portion 24 of the terminal fitting 20 is placed on the welding device 40 so that the terminal-side fixing portion 24A is positioned above the lower electrode 41. By placing the connecting portion 24 of the terminal fitting 20 on the welding device 40, the terminal-side fixing portion 24 </ b> A is placed on the upper surface 41 </ b> A of the lower electrode 41 as shown in FIG. 2. Here, since the connecting portion 24 has a flat plate shape, the terminal side fixing portion 24 </ b> A is in surface contact with the lower electrode 41. Next, the overlapping portion 14 of the braided wire 10 is overlapped on the connection portion 24 of the terminal fitting 20 (an example of an overlapping step).

Next, both sides in the width direction of the connection portion 24 of the terminal fitting 20 and the overlapping portion 14 of the braided wire 10 are sandwiched between a pair of guide members (an example of a support member) 44 and 44. The guide member 44 is made of ceramic, and is symmetrically arranged with the connection portion 24 and the overlapping portion 14 sandwiched therebetween. As shown in FIGS. 2 and 3, the guide member 44 has a recess 44 </ b> A extending in a groove shape along the vertical direction at the tip. The upper end of the recess 44A opens upward, and the lower end opens downward.

Among the front end portions of the guide member 44, the inner end surfaces (end surfaces facing the braided wire 10) of the front side portion and the rear side portion sandwiching the recess 44A are the overlapping portion 14 of the braided wire 10 and the terminal fitting, respectively. The support end surface 44B supports the 20 connecting portions 24. In this method, when the connecting portion 24 and the overlapping portion 14 are sandwiched between the guide members 44, both sides in the width direction of the terminal side fixing portion 24A in the connecting portion 24 and both sides in the width direction of the fixing portion 14A in the overlapping portion 14 are Each of the guide members 44 is sandwiched so as to face the recess 44A.

By sandwiching the connecting portion 24 and the overlapping portion 14 with the guide member 44 in this way, as shown in FIG. 3, in the braided wire 10, the width direction in the front side portion and the rear side portion sandwiching the fixing portion 14A Are supported by the support end surface 44B of the guide member 44 (an example of a support process). In this state, both sides of the overlapping portion 14 in the width direction of the non-fixed portion 14B and both sides of the connection portion 24 in the width direction of the terminal-side non-fixed portion 24B are in contact with the support end surface 44B of the guide member 44, respectively. A gap S1 is provided between both sides in the width direction of the fixing portion 14A and the recess 44A of the guide member 44.

The depth dimension of the recess 44A of the guide member 44 is substantially equal to the depth dimension of the notch 26 of the terminal fitting 20, and the width in the front-rear direction of the recess 44A of the guide member 44 is the notch 26 of the terminal fitting 20. It is slightly larger than the width in the front-rear direction. For this reason, both sides in the width direction of the terminal-side non-fixed portion 24B are in contact with the support end surface 44B, so that both sides in the width direction of the terminal-side fixed portion 24A are in contact with the bottom surface of the recess 44A.

Further, the dimension in the front-rear direction of the recess 44 </ b> A of the guide member 44 is slightly larger than the dimension in the front-rear direction of the terminal-side fixing part 24 </ b> A of the terminal fitting 20. For this reason, as shown in FIG. 3, in a state where the connecting portion 24 and the overlapping portion 14 are sandwiched between the pair of guide members 44, 44, the support end surface 44 </ b> B of each guide member 44 enters each notch 26 of the terminal fitting 20. (Both sides of the terminal side fixing portion 24A of the terminal fitting 20 enter the recess 44A of each guide member 44). As a result, the terminal fitting 20 is restricted from moving in the front-rear direction by the pair of guide members 44, 44.

Next, as shown in FIGS. 3 to 6, the braided wire 10 and the terminal fitting 20 are supported by the pair of guide members 44, 44, and the upper side from the upper side of the fixing portion 14 </ b> A in the overlapping portion 14 of the braided wire 10. The electrode 42 is pressed (in FIG. 3, the upper electrode 42 is shown with a dashed-dotted line). As a result, the fixing portion 14A in the overlapping portion 14 and the terminal-side fixing portion 24A in the terminal fitting 20 are sandwiched and pressed between the pair of electrodes 41 and 42 (an example of a clamping step).

The width of the lower electrode 41 matches the width W1 (see FIG. 3) between the recess 44A and the recess 44A of the pair of guide members 44, 44 in a state where the braided wire 10 and the terminal fitting 20 are supported. Yes. On the other hand, the width of the upper electrode 42 is slightly smaller than the width between the recess 44A and the recess 44A of the pair of guide members 44, 44 in a state where the braided wire 10 and the terminal fitting 20 are supported, and the fixing portion 14A. It is larger than the width W2 (see FIG. 3) of the (non-fixed portion 14B). For this reason, when the upper electrode 42 is pressed against the fixing portion 14 </ b> A, both sides in the width direction of the upper electrode 42 do not interfere with each guide member 44. On the other hand, a slight gap is formed between the upper electrode 42 and each guide member 44.

Further, when the fixing portion 14A and the terminal side fixing portion 24A are pressurized, both sides in the width direction of the fixing portion 14A are not supported by the guide members 44 (both sides in the width direction of the fixing portion 14A and each guide member 44). Since the gap S1 (see FIG. 3) is provided between them, the fixing portion 14A is pressed and crushed between the pair of electrodes 41 and 42, so that both sides in the width direction of the fixing portion 14A are not fixed. The shape swells outward from the portion 14B. As a result, as shown in FIG. 4, the bulging portions 16 are formed on both sides of the fixing portion 14A in the width direction.

Here, if each guide member is not provided with the recess, both sides in the width direction of the fixing portion are supported by the guide member. Therefore, it is necessary to make the width of the upper electrode smaller than the width between the guide members, that is, the width of the fixed portion (non-fixed portion) so that both sides in the width direction of the upper electrode do not interfere with each guide member. In this case, since a portion that is not pressed by the upper electrode occurs in a part of both sides in the width direction of the fixing portion, the fixing portion is sandwiched between the pair of electrodes, and the metal element wire in the fixing portion is crushed, Some metal strands on both sides in the width direction of the fixing portion may enter a gap between the upper electrode and each guide member.

On the other hand, in the present embodiment, as shown in FIG. 5, the width of the upper electrode 42 can be made larger than the width W2 of the fixing portion 14A, so that the fixing portion 14A is sandwiched between the pair of electrodes 41 and 42. Thus, the entire fixed portion 14A is pressurized by the upper electrode 42. For this reason, when the metal strand 12 in the fixing portion 14A is crushed, a part of the metal strand 12 of the fixing portion 14A is prevented from being lifted, and the gap S2 between the upper electrode 42 and each guide member 44 is prevented. It is possible to prevent the metal strand 12 from entering (see FIG. 5).

Next, a current is passed between the pair of electrodes 41 and 42 in a state where the fixing portion 14A and the terminal side fixing portion 24A are pressurized, and the fixing portion 14A and the terminal side fixing portion 24A are made higher than the melting temperature of tin. And heating within a temperature range lower than the melting temperature of copper (an example of an energization process). In this step, when the heating temperature exceeds the melting point of tin, tin is melted from the tin plating layer formed on the surface of the metal strand 12 of the fixing portion 14A and the terminal side fixing portion 24A. Then, the melted tin surely enters the gap between the metal wires 12 and enters the state between the fixing portion 14A and the terminal-side fixing portion 24A. Thereby, between the adhering portion 14A and the terminal-side adhering portion 24A is firmly adhered.

Next, when the entire region of the terminal side fixing portion 24A comes into close contact with the fixing portion 14A, the fixing portion 14A and the terminal side fixing portion 24A are cooled. Thereby, tin hardens | cures and the adhering part 14A and the terminal side adhering part 24A are adhering and electrically connected, and the electric wire 1 with a terminal metal fitting is completed.

As described above, according to the electric wire 1 with terminal fitting of the present embodiment, in the manufacturing process, both sides in the width direction of the non-fixed portion 14B are supported by the guide member 44, and both sides in the width direction of the fixed portion 14A are supported. In a state where the fixing is not performed, the fixing portion 14A and the terminal fitting 20 are pressurized. At this time, the fixing portion 14A and the terminal-side fixing portion 24A are sandwiched between the pair of electrodes 41 and 42 having a width larger than the width of the non-fixing portion 14B. For this reason, when the fixing portion 14 </ b> A is sandwiched between the pair of electrodes 41 and 42 and pressed, the entire area of the fixing portion 14 </ b> A is pressed by the upper electrode 42.

Then, the fixing portion 14A is pressed and crushed between the pair of electrodes 41 and 42 in a state where both sides in the width direction of the fixing portion 14A are not supported, so that both sides in the width direction of the fixing portion 14A are non-fixing portions. The bulging portion 16 is formed on both sides in the width direction of the fixing portion 14A. As a result, the metal strand 12 in the fixing portion 14A can be fixed to the terminal fitting 20 over the entire width direction of the overlapping portion 14, and the metal strand 12 that is not welded to the terminal fitting 20 is prevented from being generated. Can do. Thus, in the electric wire 1 with a terminal metal fitting of this embodiment, the metal wire 12 which is not welded to the terminal metal fitting 20 is prevented from being generated, so that the terminal metal fitting 20 and the metal element wire 12 are firmly fixed. Can do.

Moreover, in the electric wire 1 with a terminal metal fitting of this embodiment, the notch 26 is provided in the terminal metal fitting 20, and, thereby, the width | variety of the terminal side non-adhesion part 24B is smaller than the width | variety of the terminal side adhering part 24A. With such a configuration, when the metal strand 12 and the terminal side fixing portion 24A in the fixing portion 14A are fixed, both sides in the width direction of the non-fixing portion 14B are supported by the guide member 44, A terminal-side fixed portion 24A having a width larger than the terminal-side non-fixed portion 24B is close to the guide member 44 in the front-rear direction. For this reason, when the metal wire 12 and the terminal-side fixing portion 24A are fixed to each other in the fixing portion 14A, if the terminal fitting 20 is displaced in the front-rear direction, the terminal-side fixing portion 24A is immediately brought into contact with the guide member 44 in the front-rear direction. It is possible to prevent the terminal fitting 20 from being displaced in the front-rear direction. Thereby, between the terminal metal fitting 20 and the metal strand 12 can be more favorably fixed.

Moreover, in the electric wire 1 with a terminal metal fitting of this embodiment, as mentioned above, it can prevent that the metal strand 12 enters into the clearance gap S2 between the upper electrode 42 and each guide member 44 in the manufacturing process. it can. As a result, it can prevent that the metal strand 12 which is not welded to the terminal metal fitting 20 arises, and can firmly fix between the terminal metal fitting 20 and the metal strand 12.

Moreover, in the electric wire 1 with a terminal metal fitting of this embodiment, as mentioned above, in the manufacturing process, between the pair of electrodes 41 and 42 which have a width | variety larger than the width | variety of the non-sticking part 14B, 14A of fixed parts and a terminal metal fitting. 20 is sandwiched. For this reason, even when the upper electrode 42 is slightly shifted in the width direction, the upper electrode 42 can be maintained in a state of being overlapped over the entire width direction of the overlapping portion 14, and the upper electrode 42 and the guide member 44 can be maintained. It is possible to effectively prevent the metal strand 12 from entering the gap S2 between the two. As a result, the terminal fitting 20 and the metal element wire 12 can be more firmly fixed.

<Embodiment 2>
Next, Embodiment 2 will be described with reference to FIG. The electric wire 101 with terminal fitting of the present embodiment is different from that of the first embodiment in the depth dimension of the recess 144A of the guide member 144 used in the manufacturing process. Since the other configuration is the same as that of the first embodiment, the description of the structure, operation, and effect is omitted. In FIG. 7, the part obtained by adding the numeral 100 to the reference numeral in FIG. 3 is the same as the part described in the first embodiment.

In the present embodiment, as shown in FIG. 7, the depth of the recess 144A of the guide member 144 used in the manufacturing process is shallower than that of the first embodiment. In the manufacturing process, in the step of sandwiching the fixing portion and the terminal-side fixing portion between the lower electrode and the upper electrode 142, the upper electrode 142 having a width equal to the width of the non-fixing portion 114B is attached to the fixing portion. Press from above.

Even in such a manufacturing method, when the fixed portion is sandwiched between the lower electrode and the upper electrode 142, the entire area of the fixed portion is pressurized by the upper electrode 142. For this reason, when the metal strand in the fixing portion is crushed, it is possible to prevent the metal strand from entering the gap between the upper electrode 142 and each guide member 144. As a result, the terminal fitting 120 and the metal element wire can be satisfactorily fixed.

In the present embodiment, since the guide member 144 is provided with the concave portion 144A, both sides in the width direction of the fixing portion are not supported by the guide member 144, so that the fixing portion is between the lower electrode and the upper electrode 142. By being pressed and crushed, the bulging portions 116 are formed on both sides of the fixing portion in the width direction as in the first embodiment.
