Claims (10)
- Sedigraph(登録商標)5120粒径分析装置で測定したときに2〜7ミクロンの中央粒径を有するカオリン体質顔料であって、少なくとも25の製品ムライト指数(M.I.)を有する完全焼成カオリンクレーを含む、カオリン体質顔料。
- 完全焼成カオリンが、40.0〜54.0の製品M.I.を有する、請求項1に記載のカオリン体質顔料。
- 融剤からのアルカリ又はアルカリ土類カチオンを更に含有する、請求項1に記載のカオリン体質顔料。
- 0.01〜2.0重量%未満の前記カチオンを含有する、請求項3に記載のカオリン体質顔料。
- 請求項1に記載のカオリン体質顔料を含む塗料組成物。
- 前記完全焼成カオリン以外の主顔料を更に包含する、請求項5に記載の塗料組成物。
- 水性塗料を含む、請求項5に記載の塗料組成物。
- 前記完全焼成カオリンと前記カオリン以外の主顔料の混合物を包含する、請求項7に記載の塗料組成物。
- 改良されたカオリン体質顔料を製造する方法であって、含水カオリンの水性スラリーを形成する工程、前記スラリーを噴霧乾燥して乾燥カオリン製品にする工程、含水カオリンを少なくとも25.0の製品M.I.を有する完全焼成カオリンに変換するのに十分な温度及び時間で前記カオリン製品を焼成する工程、前記焼成カオリンを微粉砕して、Sedigraph(登録商標)5120粒径分析装置で測定したときに2〜7ミクロンの中央粒径を有する粒子にする工程を含む、方法。
- 前記スラリーの形成中又は前記スラリーの形成後、噴霧乾燥の前に、融剤が前記含水カオリンに添加される、請求項9に記載の方法。
