Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a battery pack, and more particularly, to a battery pack having a cooling system that has a heat dissipation system that discharges heat from the battery pack and is applied to a device that requires large electric power such as an electric vehicle.
An electric vehicle, also called an electrically driven vehicle, uses one or more electric motors as a moving vehicle for the drive system. Unlike electric vehicles that use energy obtained by burning petroleum such as gasoline, electric vehicles use electricity for propulsion, thus preventing waste gas generation and reducing noise. .
In the past several decades, transportation using electricity has attracted attention due to the negative effects of transportation using petroleum energy on the environment. The electricity used by the electric vehicle can be generated using many energy sources (for example, fossil fuel, nuclear power, tidal energy, solar energy, wind energy, or a combination of these and other renewable energy).
Currently, electric vehicles or hybrid electric vehicles are becoming increasingly popular. Most of current electric vehicles (EV) and hybrid electric vehicles (HEV) use a nickel-hydrogen (Ni-MH) secondary battery as a power source. Batteries are also starting to be used.
Since these secondary batteries must have high output and high capacity, most of the small secondary batteries (battery units) are connected to each other by series connection or parallel connection and formed into a battery module. . Most of the battery modules are connected to each other by a series connection method or a parallel connection method and formed in one battery pack.
However, when a high-power, high-capacity battery pack is charged and discharged, a great amount of heat may be generated. If the heat due to charging / discharging cannot be effectively released, the electricity of the battery unit will be used up quickly. Therefore, a battery pack having a heat dissipation system has been demanded.
When a hybrid electric vehicle drives a motor with a battery pack, heat dissipation is very important. If the heat radiation is not sufficient, the temperature of the battery unit changes due to the heat generated from the battery unit, the internal temperature of the battery unit rises, and in the worst case, the battery unit may explode.
The battery module of the hybrid electric vehicle is charged / discharged by a high current, and there is a risk that the function is deteriorated by heat generated by an internal reaction of the rechargeable battery.
Please refer to FIG. As shown in FIG. 1, the
The
Please refer to FIG. As shown in FIG. 2, the battery of Patent Document 2 has a double filtration device attached to an air inlet portion that is used to flow air from a cooling battery pack. The double filtration device includes a pre-filter having larger pores and an in-medium filter having smaller pores. Pre-filtering devices are frequently replaced, but in-situ filtering devices are not so often replaced. When viewed from the air flow direction, the pre-filter is installed in front of the in-situ filtration device, so that air dust can be removed to increase the heat dissipation efficiency of the battery pack. However, in the case of this structure, the size of the battery pack cannot be reduced.
Therefore, a battery pack having a small and highly efficient heat dissipation system and a high strength of the internal structure has been demanded.
An object of the present invention is to provide a battery pack having a heat dissipation system for discharging the heat of the battery pack and having a cooling system applied to an apparatus such as an electric vehicle that requires large electric power.
