Abstract
【解決手段】射出成形されたポリマー製品中の強化繊維の配列を制御する方法であって、以下の工程:成形装置の少なくとも1つの領域に電場を加えること、その後、加えている電場を維持しながら、実質的に配列されていない強化繊維を含む流動ポリマーを成形装置に射出すること、を含む方法。

Claims (12)
- 射出成形されたポリマー製品中の強化繊維の配列を制御する方法であって、以下の工程:
成形装置の少なくとも1つの領域に電場を加えること、その後
加えている電場を維持しながら、実質的に配列されていない強化繊維を含む流動ポリマーを成形装置に射出すること、
を含む方法。 - 前記成形装置が金型キャビティであり、前記方法が、強化繊維を含む流動ポリマーの射出後のセットアップ期間の間、加えられた電場を維持する追加工程を含む、請求項1記載の方法。
- 前記電場が約30秒〜3分の間維持される、請求項2記載の方法。
- 前記強化繊維が、電導性の低いポリマーもしくはガラス製である、請求項1記載の方法。
- ポリマー中の前記繊維の平均長さが約4〜7mmである、請求項4記載の方法。
- 前記電場がDCであり、この電場の強さが、電極長さ1mmあたり約1〜5kVである、請求項1記載の方法。
- 金型キャビティが少なくとも1つの細長い部分を有し、この細長い部分を横切って電場が加えられる、請求項1記載の方法。
- 射出成形により繊維強化ポリマーで作られている製品を形成するための金型、及び
成形工程の間に所定の方向に繊維強化ポリマー中の繊維の少なくとも一部を配列させることができる強度及び方向に、金型の少なくとも1つの部位に電場を加えるための電極
を含む組立体。 - 前記電極が、DC電場を加えるように配列されている、請求項8記載の組立体。
- 前記電極が、電極長さ1mmあたり約1〜5kVの電場強度を与えるよう配列されている、請求項9記載の組立体。
- 前記繊維が非導電性材料製である、請求項8記載の組立体。
- 前記繊維がガラス製である、請求項11記載の組立体。
