Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a solid fuel using sludge as a raw material.
In recent years, solid fuel using sludge as a raw material has been developed from the viewpoint of effective utilization of resources including waste (see Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 2007-326911). The solid fuel is unstable in calorific value because, for example, sludge containing various components is used as a raw material. In addition, the solid fuel is usually molded into a granular form from the viewpoint of handling properties and the like, but there is a disadvantage that it has a heat storage ignition property and a dust explosion property.
Therefore, a method for producing a solid fuel has been proposed in which dry sludge is carbonized until the atomic ratio of hydrogen to carbon reaches a specific range, and this carbonization treatment is performed while blowing steam (Japanese Patent Laid-Open No. 2007-2007). -146130). The solid fuel thus obtained is said to have a high calorific value and can also suppress stored heat ignition.
However, since the above manufacturing method performs carbonization under specific conditions, special control means and equipment are required. Further, carbonized solid fuel is fragile and thus easily generates dust. Therefore, dust explosion is not sufficiently suppressed.
This invention is made | formed based on the above situations, and it aims at providing the solid fuel which has a high calorific value while using sludge as a raw material, and has low thermal storage ignition property and dust explosion property. .
The invention made to solve the above problems is
It is a granular material obtained by drying sludge,
The proportion of particles having a particle size of 1 mm or more and 5 mm or less is 80% by mass or more,
Moisture content is 30% by mass or less,
Solid fuel with calorific value of 4,000 kcal / kg or more.
Since the solid fuel has a predetermined particle size and water content, it is difficult to be charged, and as a result, heat storage and ignition are low. In addition, since the solid fuel is a granular material obtained by drying, it is less brittle and less likely to become dust as compared with carbonized one, so that the dust explosibility is low. Furthermore, since the solid fuel has a predetermined moisture content, the calorific value is as high as 4,000 kcal or more, and is suitable as a fuel. In addition, using not only organic activated sludge but also latex as the above sludge, adjusting the mixing ratio and adjusting the water content, etc., to produce a solid fuel with a calorific value of 4,000 kcal / kg or more. Can do.
The solid fuel preferably contains a surfactant and fine synthetic resin or rubber. Thus, the calorific value is increased by including fine particle synthetic resin or synthetic rubber. Moreover, since these components function as a binder, brittleness, that is, dust explosiveness, can be further suppressed. Furthermore, since the synthetic resin and rubber can be uniformly dispersed by containing the surfactant, it is possible to increase the stability of the calorific value and suppress the heat storage and ignition.
The sludge preferably contains activated sludge and latex. Thus, by using the sludge containing latex, the function by containing the above-mentioned surfactant and fine particle synthetic resin or rubber can be effectively expressed. Moreover, the heat storage ignition property of the obtained solid fuel can also be reduced by mixing and using activated sludge and latex. Furthermore, adjustment of the calorific value is facilitated by adjusting the mixing ratio of activated sludge and latex.
The lower explosion limit concentration of the solid fuel is preferably 100 g / m 3 or more. By having such a high explosion limit concentration, the dust explosibility of the solid fuel can be suppressed, and the handleability can be improved.
The minimum ignition energy of the solid fuel is preferably 200 mJ or more, and more preferably 300 mJ or more. By having such a high minimum ignition energy, the dust explosibility of the solid fuel can be reduced and the handleability can be improved.
Here, “sludge” refers to a precipitate containing organic substances generated in a process such as sewage treatment or factory wastewater treatment. “Particle size” refers to a value determined according to JIS A1204 (2009) particle size test method “Sieving analysis” using a metal mesh sieve specified in JIS Z8801-1 “Sieving sieve”. The “explosive lower limit concentration” refers to a value measured using a “blow-up type test apparatus” in accordance with the method for measuring the lower limit concentration of explosive dust of JIS Z8818 (2202). The “minimum ignition energy” refers to a value measured according to the minimum ignition energy measurement method of the IEC 61241-2-3 Section 3: dust / air mixture.
As described above, the solid fuel of the present invention has a high calorific value while using sludge as a raw material, and has a low heat storage ignition property and dust explosion property. Accordingly, the solid fuel is excellent in handleability and can be suitably used as fuel for thermal power generation, cement production, boilers, and the like.
Hereinafter, embodiments of the solid fuel of the present invention will be described.

The latex refers to a dispersion system in which fine polymer particles are dispersed in water. Examples of the polymer include synthetic resins, synthetic rubbers, natural resins, oils and fats, and natural rubbers. Among these, a synthetic resin or a synthetic rubber is preferable from the viewpoint that the industrial wastewater can be effectively used and the heat generation amount is high.
Examples of the synthetic resin or synthetic rubber include vinyl acetate polymer, ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer, (meth) acrylic acid ester polymer, styrene- (meth) acrylic acid ester copolymer, and styrene-butadiene copolymer. Examples include polymers, acrylonitrile-butadiene copolymers, isoprene copolymers, chloroprene copolymers, urethane polymers, and copolymers combining two or more of the monomers constituting these polymers. Can do. Examples of the copolymer include those obtained by random copolymerization, graft copolymerization, and block copolymerization.
The latex usually contains a surfactant as a dispersant (emulsifier). The surfactant is not particularly limited, and examples thereof include aliphatic soaps, rosin acid soaps, alkyl sulfonates, dialkylaryl sulfonates, alkylsulfosuccinates, polyoxyethylene alkyl sulfates, and polyoxyethylene alkyl aryl sulfates. Anionic surfactants such as salts, nonionic surfactants such as polyoxyethylene alkyl ether, polyoxyethylene alkyl aryl ether and polyoxyethylene oxypropylene block copolymer, other cationic surfactants, amphoteric surfactants, etc. Can be mentioned.
The wastewater containing the latex may contain other components such as water-soluble polymers and inorganic substances.
The aggregation treatment in this step (1) is not particularly limited, and an aggregation precipitation method using an aggregating agent can be performed. The flocculant is not particularly limited, and known ones can be used, for example, cationic flocculants such as sulfate bands, poly (meth) acrylic acid aminoalkyl esters, polyacrylamide Mannich modified products, and the like. And anionic flocculants such as polyacrylamide and sodium polyacrylate. By using these flocculants, the granulation property, low odor property, high heat generation property, etc. of the obtained solid fuel can be enhanced.
The solid content concentration of the latex-derived sludge obtained through this step (1) is, for example, about 1% by mass to 10% by mass. In addition, this sludge can also be temporarily stored in a storage tank etc., before using for a process (3).
Process (2)
In this step (2), wastewater other than the wastewater used in step (1) is treated. Examples of other wastewater include domestic wastewater and industrial wastewater other than latex.
In the step (2), wastewater treatment by a general activated sludge method can be performed. Specifically, it is processed using a processing facility including an aeration tank and a precipitation tank, and the processed water is discharged. On the other hand, a part of the activated sludge precipitated in the settling tank is sent to the aeration tank by a pump or the like, and excess activated sludge is discharged from the settling tank by the pump or the like as excess sludge. In addition, a well-known flocculant is added to the said precipitation tank and efficient precipitation is performed. This aggregating agent is preferably an aggregating agent containing aluminum element.
The solid content concentration of the excess sludge (activated sludge) is, for example, about 1% by mass to 10% by mass. In addition, this sludge can also be temporarily stored in a storage tank etc., before using for a process (3).
Step (3)
In this step (3), the latex-derived sludge separated in step (1) (hereinafter also referred to as “latex sludge”) and the activated sludge (excess sludge) discharged in step (2) are mixed. To do. This step may be performed, for example, by combining a pipe for transporting latex sludge and a pipe for transporting activated sludge, and mixing two kinds of sludge in the pipe. In addition, for example, two kinds of sludge may be mixed using a mixing tank or the like.
The mixing ratio (active sludge / latex sludge) of activated sludge and latex sludge (that is, latex concentrated to a high concentration) at the time of mixing is not particularly limited, but it is 0. 25 or more and 1 or less are preferable, 0.3 or more and 0.7 or less are more preferable, and 0.4 or more and 0.5 or less are more preferable. By mixing at such a ratio, it is possible to obtain a solid fuel having a higher calorific value, low heat storage and low dust explosiveness.
Step (4)
In this step (4), the mixed sludge obtained in step (3) (hereinafter also simply referred to as sludge) is dehydrated. This dehydration can be performed using a known dehydrator. Examples of the dehydrator include a screw press, a belt press, and a centrifuge.
In this dehydration step, it is preferable to use the dehydrator (screw press and belt press) properly according to the mixing ratio (latex sludge / activated sludge). When the mixing ratio is less than 0.33 or more than 0.5, it is preferable to use a screw press, and when using other mixing ratios, it is preferable to use a belt press. In addition, it is preferable to adjust the mixing ratio to 0.33 or more and 0.5 or less because either dehydrator can be used.
As solid content concentration of the sludge which passed through this dehydration process, it is about 10 mass% or more and 30 mass% or less, for example. This sludge can be temporarily stored in a storage tank or the like before being subjected to the step (5).
Process (5)
In this step (5), the dewatered sludge (dehydrated sludge cake) is dried and granulated. The dryer for performing this drying is not particularly limited, and a known hot air dryer, an indirect heating dryer, or the like can be used. However, an indirect heating agitation dryer is preferably used, and a steam tube dryer is used. Is more preferable. By using a steam tube dryer, drying and granulation can be performed simultaneously.
Hereinafter, a method for drying and granulating sludge using the
The main body shell 3 is a hollow member having a substantially cylindrical shape. The main body shell 3 mainly includes an object to be dried
The multi-tube heating tube 4 has a plurality of tubes arranged in the axial direction, and is provided in the main body shell 3 so as to be rotatable about the axis of the main body shell 3. The steam flowing through the multi-tube heating pipe 4 is supplied from the steam supply port 9 and is at least partially discharged from the
In addition, a plurality of
When the
Furthermore, the dust-removed carrier gas is dehumidified and exhausted using a condenser or the like. At this time, it is preferable to introduce the carrier gas to be exhausted into an oxygen supply port of an incinerator or the like to burn volatile components contained in the carrier gas. By doing in this way, the odor (volatile component) which generate | occur | produces from the
When drying the sludge (mixed sludge) using the
The pressure in the dryer (in the main body shell 3) during drying is not particularly limited, and may be under atmospheric pressure.
In addition, when the sludge is charged into the
Here, without passing through the mixing step (3), the latex sludge dehydrated separately and the activated sludge can be mixed in this drying and granulation step. At this time, two kinds of sludge can be charged simultaneously into the
The granulated product (dried product) obtained through this dry granulation step is temporarily stored as necessary, and can be used for shipment or use in its own facilities.
(Solid fuel)
Since the solid fuel is a granular material obtained by drying in this way, the brittleness is reduced and the dust explosiveness is low as compared with the carbonized one. In the solid fuel, the proportion of particles having a particle size of 1 mm or more and 5 mm or less is 80% by mass or more, and preferably 90% by mass or more. Since the solid fuel is made of such a relatively small size granular material, it is excellent in handleability, and since it is difficult to be charged, the heat storage and ignition property is low.
The water content of the solid fuel is 30% by mass or less, more preferably 0.1% by mass or more and 25% by mass or less, and further preferably 1% by mass or more and 20% by mass or less. Since the solid fuel has such a low water content, the solid fuel has a high calorific value and is not easily charged and has a low heat storage and ignition property.
The calorific value of the solid fuel is 4,000 kcal / kg or more. The solid fuel has a high calorific value in spite of the dry matter obtained from the sludge. The calorific value is preferably from 4,500 kcal / kg to 7,000 kcal / kg.
The solid fuel preferably contains a surfactant and fine synthetic resin or rubber. By including fine particle synthetic resin or synthetic rubber in this way, the calorific value is increased, and these components function as a binder, making it more brittle and thus suppressing dust explosiveness. Further, since the surfactant is contained, the synthetic resin and rubber can be uniformly dispersed, so that the stability of the calorific value can be improved and the heat storage ignition property can be suppressed.
The sludge preferably contains activated sludge and latex (latex sludge). The mass ratio of activated sludge to latex (activated sludge / latex) is preferably from 0.25 to 1, more preferably from 0.3 to 0.7, and even more preferably from 0.4 to 0.5. By setting it as such mass ratio, it can be set as solid fuel with higher calorific value and low thermal storage ignition property and dust explosion property.
The lower explosion limit concentration of the solid fuel is preferably 100 g / m 3 or more, more preferably 120 g / m 3 or more and 250 g / m 3 or less.
The ash content of the solid fuel is preferably 5% by mass or more and 40% by mass or less, and more preferably 12% by mass or more and 30% by mass or less.
The ash melting temperature of the solid fuel preferably exceeds 1,500 ° C. Thus, since the ash melting point temperature is high, generation | occurrence | production of the slacking and fouling at the time of combusting with a boiler can be suppressed. The solid fuel is obtained by the above-described production method, and preferably has a high ash melting point temperature, for example, by using latex and activated sludge as raw materials. This ash melting temperature is a value measured in accordance with JIS M8801 “Measurement of Melting Characteristic Temperature of Ash”.
As described above, the solid fuel has a high calorific value while using sludge as a raw material, and has a low thermal storage and dust explosiveness. Accordingly, the solid fuel is excellent in handleability and can be suitably used as fuel for thermal power generation, cement production, boilers, and the like.

In addition, other factory wastewater was treated by the activated sludge method using existing wastewater treatment facilities to obtain activated sludge. The sulfuric acid band was also used as the flocculant used in this activated sludge method.
The activated sludge and latex sludge were mixed at a ratio of 1 / 2.2 (0.45) and dehydrated to a solid content concentration of 20% by mass using a belt press. As the heat medium, steam at 150 ° C. was used. The temperature in the dryer was controlled within a range of 80 to 90 ° C. and allowed to stay for about 16 hours. In addition, a small amount of dried sludge was charged before the sludge was charged into the dryer.

[Comparative Example 2]
A solid fuel was obtained in the same manner as in Example 1 except that a screw conveyor type dryer was used instead of the steam tube dryer. The solid fuel became granular including powder. When the particle size was measured, the proportion of particles less than 1 mm was about 40% by mass.
