Abstract
Description
本明細書において、「平均置換度」は、プロトン核磁気共鳴(1H−NMR)によって求めた値である。
実施例1
<マルチトール安息香酸エステル(平均置換度6.5)>
撹拌棒、温度計、冷却コンデンサー、滴下漏斗、およびpHメーターに接続したpH電極を備えた5つ口フラスコに、マルチトール30.0部と水70.0部を仕込み溶解した後、水浴で10℃以下に冷却しながら、塩化ベンゾイル79.0部を含むシクロヘキサノン100部を徐々に加え、均一に溶かした。20℃以下の温度を保ちながら、48%苛性ソーダ水溶液50.1部を、滴下漏斗よりpHが10〜11に保たれるような速度で加えた。滴下は1時間以内で終了した。その後、水浴を取り去り、20〜30℃の室温で、1時間撹拌を続け熟成して反応を完結させた。その後、若干量の炭酸ソーダを加え加熱して、微量に残っている塩化ベンゾイルを安息香酸ソーダに変換した。そして溶媒をロータリーエバポレーターにより除去することにより、マルチトール安息香酸エステルを得た。平均置換度を1H−NMRによって求めたところ、6.5であった。
<マルチトール安息香酸エステル(平均置換度3.2)>
マルチトール30.0部および塩化ベンゾイル39.0部を用いた以外は、実施例1と同様に処理して、マルチトール安息香酸エステルを得た。平均置換度を1H−NMRによって求めたところ、3.2であった。
<ショ糖トルイル酸エステル(平均置換度6.3)>
マルチトールに代えてショ糖30.0部および塩化ベンゾイルに代えてトルイル酸クロライド85.3部を用いた以外は、実施例1と同様に処理して、ショ糖トルイル酸エステルを得た。平均置換度を1H−NMRによって求めたところ、6.3であった。
<ショ糖トルイル酸エステル(平均置換度4.7)>
マルチトールに代えてショ糖30.0部および塩化ベンゾイルに代えてトルイル酸クロライド63.6部を用いた以外は、実施例1と同様に処理して、ショ糖トルイル酸エステルを得た。平均置換度を1H−NMRによって求めたところ、4.7であった。
<マルチトールトルイル酸エステル(平均置換度7.6)>
マルチトール30.0部および塩化ベンゾイルに代えてトルイル酸クロライド102.3部を用いた以外は、実施例1と同様に処理して、マルチトールトルイル酸エステルを得た。平均置換度を1H−NMRによって求めたところ、7.6であった。
<ショ糖安息香酸エステル(平均置換度7.3)>
ショ糖30.0部および塩化ベンゾイル部89.9部を用いた以外は、実施例1と同様に処理して、ショ糖安息香酸エステルを得た。平均置換度を1H−NMRによって求めたところ、7.3であった。
<ショ糖安息香酸エステル(平均置換度6.0)>
ショ糖30.0部および塩化ベンゾイル73.9部を用いた以外は、実施例1と同様に処理して、ショ糖安息香酸エステルを得た。平均置換度を1H−NMRによって求めたところ、6.0であった。
<ショ糖安息香酸エステル(平均置換度4.8)>
ショ糖30.0部および塩化ベンゾイル部59.1部を用いた以外は、実施例1と同様に処理して、ショ糖安息香酸エステルを得た。平均置換度を1H−NMRによって求めたところ、4.8であった。
<色相>
試験管に、上記実施例および比較例で得た各エステル5gを入れ、130℃のオイルバス中で15時間加熱した。加熱前後の各サンプルについて、JIS K2421記載の方法に準じて、その色相を判定した。すなわち、各サンプルをトルエンで50%に希釈し、該希釈液の色相が、肉眼で比べた場合において、同じと判断されるAPHA標準液の数値(ハーゼン色数:APHA)を記録した。
