Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a method for manufacturing a balloon catheter.
Conventionally, balloon catheters are sometimes used in treatments such as PTA (percutaneous angioplasty) and PTCA (percutaneous coronary angioplasty) (see, for example, Patent Document 1). The balloon catheter is provided with a balloon that can be inflated and deflated on the distal end side thereof, and the balloon is expanded by introducing and inflating the balloon to a treatment target site that is narrowed or occluded in the body. . In addition, the balloon catheter is introduced to a treatment target site through the lumen of a sheath introducer introduced into the body in advance, for example.
FIG. 9 shows an example of a balloon catheter. A
The
In general, the
As a method for forming this kind of wings in the balloon 82 (specifically, an inflating and contracting portion), a plurality of pressing members arranged around the inflated
By the way, when wings are formed on the
The present invention has been made in view of the above circumstances, and manufacture of a balloon catheter that can prevent the proximal side joint portion joined to the distal end portion of the fluid tube in the balloon from being crushed or damaged. The main purpose is to provide a method.
In order to solve the above-described problem, a balloon catheter manufacturing method according to a first aspect of the present invention includes a fluid tube having a fluid lumen for circulating a fluid, and a proximal side joint joined to a distal end side of the tube. And a balloon having an inflation / deflation part that is inflated or deflated when fluid is circulated through the fluid lumen, in an inflating step of inflating the balloon, and the balloon The expansion / contraction part is expanded by moving a plurality of pressing members arranged around the expansion / contraction part toward a predetermined position toward the inside in the radial direction of the expansion / contraction part, and crushing by the respective pressing members. And a wing forming step of forming a plurality of wings by projecting a part of the pressing member toward the radially outer side between the pressing members, and the predetermined position is When assuming a virtual inscribed circle inscribed in the pressing surface that presses the expansion / contraction portion in the radial direction in the pressure member, the diameter of the virtual inscribed circle is larger than the outer diameter of the proximal side joint portion. The plurality of wings are formed in the expansion / contraction part in a deflated state of the balloon and are folded along the circumferential direction of the balloon.
According to the present invention, in a state where the balloon is inflated, a plurality of wings are formed in a part of the expansion / contraction portion by the expansion / contraction portion of the balloon being crushed inward in the radial direction by the plurality of pressing members. . At this time, each pressing member is moved to a predetermined position where the diameter of a virtual inscribed circle inscribed in each pressing surface is larger than the outer diameter of the proximal joint portion of the balloon. In this case, since it can avoid that a press member bites into a proximal side junction part, it can prevent that a collapse and a damage | wound generate | occur | produce in a proximal side junction part.
By the way, even when the predetermined position, which is the destination to which each pressing member is moved, is set to a position where the diameter of the virtual inscribed circle is smaller than the outer diameter of the proximal-side joint, it is surrounded by each pressing member. When the balloon is placed (set) inside, if the proximal side joint portion is disposed in a state of protruding to the proximal side from the pressing surface of the pressing member, the pressing member can bite the proximal side joint portion. Can be avoided. However, in that case, it is troublesome because a certain consideration is required when the balloon is arranged with respect to the pressing member. In that respect, the present invention can obtain the above-mentioned effects without taking such consideration into consideration.
Further, when the expansion / contraction part is crushed by the pressing member, it is assumed that a pulling force toward the expansion / contraction part side acts on the proximal side joint part joined to the fluid tube. In that case, there is a possibility that inconveniences such as the proximal side joint part coming off from the fluid tube may occur. In that respect, in the present invention in which the predetermined position as the movement destination of each pressing member is a position where the diameter of the virtual inscribed circle is larger than the outer diameter of the proximal side joint portion, A region where the outer diameter is larger than the diameter of the virtual inscribed circle is a non-pressed region that is not pressed by the pressing member. Therefore, when the expansion / contraction portion is crushed by the pressing member, the non-pressing region is deformed such as expansion, so that the tensile force acting on the proximal side joint portion can be suppressed. Therefore, according to this invention, the effect which suppresses said inconvenience is also acquired.
According to a second aspect of the present invention, there is provided a balloon catheter manufacturing method according to the first aspect, wherein the balloon inflating / shrinking portion is expanded in diameter from the distal end portion of the proximal side joint portion toward the distal side. Applied to a balloon catheter having a distal-side enlarged portion, and includes an arrangement step of arranging the balloon in a balloon arrangement region which is an inner region surrounded by the plurality of pressing members before the wing formation step. In the arrangement step, the balloon is arranged such that the proximal diameter-expanded portion does not protrude to the proximal side of the pressing surface of the pressing member in the axial direction. In the wing formation step, the arrangement is performed. The expansion / contraction part of the balloon arranged by the process is crushed by the pressing members.
According to this invention, when a balloon is arrange | positioned in a balloon arrangement | positioning area | region, it arrange | positions so that a proximal side enlarged diameter part may not protrude on the proximal side rather than the press surface of a press member. In this case, the entire area is pressed by the pressing member in a region where the outer diameter of the proximal-side enlarged portion is larger than the diameter of the virtual inscribed circle when the pressing member is in a predetermined position. Therefore, it is possible to form wings in a wide range in the proximal-side expanded portion, and it is possible to improve the foldability of the wings in the proximal-side expanded portion that tends to become resistance when the balloon is pulled out from the body. Therefore, in this case, the operation of pulling out the balloon from the body can be made suitable.
The method for manufacturing a balloon catheter according to a third aspect of the present invention further comprises a joining step of joining the proximal side joining portion and the fluid tube before the expansion step in the first or second invention, In the joining step, joining the proximal joint and the fluid tube so that a part of the distal joint of the proximal joint is a non-joined region that is not joined to the fluid tube. Features.
In the present invention, by joining only a part of the proximal side of the proximal side joint to the fluid tube, a part of the proximal side of the proximal side joint that is not joined to the fluid tube is formed as a non-joined region. It is supposed to be provided. Accordingly, when the expansion / contraction portion is crushed by the pressing member, a tensile force acts on the joining region joined to the fluid tube at the proximal joining portion by deforming the non-joining region or the like. Can be suppressed. Therefore, the inconvenience that the proximal side joint portion is detached from the fluid tube can be suppressed.
According to a fourth aspect of the present invention, there is provided a balloon catheter manufacturing method according to any one of the first to third aspects, wherein the pressing member is provided so as to be rotatable about a rotation axis extending in the same direction as the axial direction of the balloon. The balloon is moved inward in the radial direction by the rotation.
In the first to third inventions, for example, as the pressing member, a rotating pressing member that moves inward in the radial direction of the balloon by rotating may be used. Here, when the expansion / contraction part is crushed using such a rotary pressing member, it is assumed that a force in the outer peripheral direction acts on the outer peripheral surface of the expansion / contraction part, and in that case, the force acts on the proximal side joint part. It is considered that the tensile force to be increased is likely to cause inconvenience that the joint portion is detached from the fluid tube. In view of this point, it is desirable to apply the third aspect of the invention when using the rotary pressing member, and the above-described disadvantages can be suitably suppressed.
Hereinafter, an embodiment of a balloon catheter will be described with reference to the drawings. First, a schematic configuration of the
As shown in FIG. 1, the
The
The
The

Next, the structure of the
As shown in FIG. 2, the

Inside the proximal leg region 13a, an

Next, the manufacturing procedure of the

Subsequently, a balloon placement step (corresponding to the placement step) in which the
As shown in FIG. 4, the
An inner area surrounded by each pressing
The pressing
Each
Each pressing

Returning to the description of the manufacturing procedure, in the balloon placement step, the
Next, a wing formation process is performed to form
After the wing formation process is completed, a negative pressure is applied to the
Next, a folding step of folding the
In the folding step, first, as shown in FIG. 7 (b), the
Next, a shaping process is performed in which the
Thereafter, as a post process, a process of attaching the
Next, a method for using the
First, a guide wire G is inserted into the
After the expansion of the narrowed portion is completed, the

As mentioned above, according to the structure of this embodiment explained in full detail, the following outstanding effects are acquired.
Since the balloon crushing diameter D is set to be larger than the outer diameter of the proximal leg region 13a, the pressing
Even when the balloon crushing diameter D is set to be smaller than the outer diameter of the proximal leg region 13 a, the proximal leg region 13 a can be moved from the pressing
In the balloon arranging step, the
In the proximal joining step, the
Further, in the above-described configuration using the rotating type that moves inward in the radial direction of the
The present invention is not limited to the above embodiment, and may be implemented as follows, for example.
(1) The
In such a configuration, when each pressing
