Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a workpiece processing apparatus, and more particularly to a workpiece processing apparatus that performs processing by irradiating a workpiece such as a glass substrate with laser light.
As a workpiece processing apparatus using laser light, for example, an apparatus disclosed in
When a laser beam is scanned on a glass substrate along a curved line such as a circle, an arc, or an S shape using the conventional laser beam processing apparatus as described above, the table on which the glass substrate is placed is moved in the x direction and It is necessary to drive in synchronization with the y direction. For example, when a laser beam is scanned from a straight line extending in the x direction along a linear trajectory extending in the y direction via an arcuate curved portion, the table is initially moved only by a motor for driving in the x direction. It is necessary to drive the y-direction drive motor at the start position of the locus and stop the x-direction drive motor at the end position of the arc-shaped locus.
However, since the table has a relatively large inertia, the table cannot be immediately moved or stopped with respect to the drive control of each motor. That is, even if the drive of the y-direction drive motor is started at the start position of the arcuate locus, the movement of the table in the y-direction is delayed, and conversely, the x-direction drive motor is stopped at the end position of the arcuate locus. However, the motion in the x direction does not stop immediately due to the inertia of the table.
For this reason, it is necessary to perform control in anticipation of a decrease in followability due to the inertia of the table as described above, or to perform processing at a low scanning speed (table moving speed). In this case, the control becomes complicated, and the processing speed decreases, so the processing efficiency decreases.
An object of the present invention is to suppress a decrease in scanning speed and improve processing efficiency when scanning laser light along a processing line including a curve such as a circle, an arc, or an S-shape.
A workpiece processing apparatus using a laser beam according to a first aspect of the invention is a device that performs processing by irradiating a workpiece with a laser beam, a workpiece table on which a workpiece to be processed is placed, a table driving unit, and a laser beam. A laser beam output unit for outputting, a deflection / rotation unit, and a scanning control unit are provided. The table driving means moves the work table in x and y directions orthogonal to each other in a plane parallel to the placement surface. The deflecting / rotating unit deflects the laser beam emitted from the laser beam output unit from the emission axis and rotates the deflected laser beam around the emission axis. The scanning control unit performs coordinated control of driving of the table driving unit and the deflection / rotation unit, and scans the laser beam on the workpiece.
In this apparatus, the work table on which the work is placed is driven in the x and y directions by the table driving means, and the laser light deflected from the emission axis is rotated around the emission axis by the deflection / rotation means. For this reason, when the machining line includes a curve, the work table has a larger radius than the curve of the machining line by deflecting and rotating the laser beam while moving the work table in the x and y directions. It is possible to move along a locus like drawing.
Here, since the radius of the scanning trajectory by the work table can be increased, the scanning speed can be made relatively high even when the followability of the work table with respect to the driving means is low. Therefore, the processing speed is increased and the processing efficiency is improved.
The workpiece processing apparatus using laser light according to the second invention is the apparatus according to the first invention, wherein the deflection / rotation means is a first wedge prism and a second wedge prism arranged opposite to each other, and a first and a second wedge prism. And rotating means for rotating the laser beam around the emission axis, and a condensing lens for condensing the laser beam on the workpiece.
Here, the laser beam condensed on the workpiece can be rotated by rotating the pair of wedge prisms around the emission axis.
According to a third aspect of the present invention, there is provided the laser beam work processing apparatus according to the second aspect, wherein the rotation means of the deflection / rotation means includes a first motor for rotating the first wedge prism around the output axis, and a second motor. And a second motor for rotating the wedge prism about the output axis.
Here, the rotation of each wedge prism can be controlled separately. For this reason, the deflection amount of the laser beam can be arbitrarily controlled.
According to a fourth aspect of the present invention, there is provided the laser beam workpiece processing apparatus according to the first aspect, wherein the rotation means of the deflection / rotation means is a hollow motor in which the first and second wedge prisms are disposed.
According to a fifth aspect of the present invention, there is provided the work processing apparatus using laser light in the apparatus of the first aspect, wherein the scanning control means moves the work table in the x direction or the y direction by the table driving means when scanning a straight processing line. Control. When scanning a curved processing line, the work table is moved and controlled in the X and Y directions by the table driving means, and the laser beam is rotated by the deflection / rotation means.
Here, similarly to the above, the radius of the scanning locus by the work table can be further increased. Therefore, even when the followability of the work table with respect to the driving means is low, the scanning speed can be made relatively high, and the processing efficiency is improved.
A workpiece processing apparatus using laser light according to a sixth aspect of the present invention is the apparatus according to the fifth aspect of the present invention, wherein the deflecting / rotating means includes a first wedge prism and a second wedge prism arranged opposite to each other, and a first and a second wedge prism. And a condensing lens for condensing the laser beam on the workpiece. When the scanning control means scans the laser beam along the processing line including the straight line portion and the curved line portion, when scanning the straight line portion of the processing line, the table driving means moves the work table in the x direction or the y direction. Move to control. Further, when scanning the curved portion of the processing line, the work table is controlled to move in the x and y directions by the table driving means, and the first and second wedge prisms are rotated in the same direction around the output axis.
Here, similarly to the above, the radius of the scanning locus by the work table can be further increased.
According to a seventh aspect of the present invention, there is provided the workpiece processing apparatus using laser light according to the fifth aspect of the invention, wherein the deflection / rotation means includes a first wedge prism and a second wedge prism arranged opposite to each other, and a first and a second wedge prism. Further, when scanning the curved portion of the processing line, the work table is controlled to move in the x and y directions by the table driving means, and the first and second wedge prisms are rotated in the opposite directions around the emission axis.
Here, the scanning radius of the work table can be increased, and the processing efficiency can be further improved.
A workpiece processing apparatus using a laser beam according to an eighth aspect of the present invention is the apparatus according to any one of the first to seventh aspects of the present invention, disposed between the laser beam output section and the deflection / rotation means, and a pair of wedge prisms and a pair of wedge prisms. The wedge prism is composed of a hollow motor disposed inside, and further includes a condensing point rotating mechanism for rotating the condensing point of the laser beam.
Here, the laser light deflected through the pair of wedge prisms is rotated around the incident optical axis. In the present invention as described above, in the processing of a workpiece using laser light, when laser processing is performed along a scanning line including a curved locus, it is possible to suppress a decrease in scanning speed and improve processing efficiency. it can.

FIG. 4 shows a schematic diagram of the high-speed
By arranging the two high-speed
θ1=(n1−1)・δ
θ2=(n2−1)・δ
θ=(n1−1)・δ−(n2−1)・δ=(n1−n2)・δ
<Declination when two wedge prisms are used>
Referring to FIG. 5, when the apex angle of the prism is δ and the refractive index is n, the deflection angle θ of this prism is
(N-1) · δ
It is. The above expression is an approximation expression when δ is small enough to be approximated by sin δ = δ (unit is radians). In the prism used in the present embodiment, the apex angle δ is about 5 ° at most, so it can be approximated as sin δ = δ. Therefore, the respective deflection angles θ1 and θ2 of the two wedge prisms having the same shape (the same apex angle) and the refractive indexes of n1 and n2, respectively,
θ1 = (n1-1) · δ
θ2 = (n2-1) · δ
It is. And the deviation angle θ when the two wedge prisms are arranged in combination so that the slopes are parallel is
θ = (n1-1) · δ− (n2-1) · δ = (n1−n2) · δ
It becomes. As is apparent from the above, if the apex angle δ is the same and the wedge prisms are made of the same material, n1 = n2 and the total declination becomes “0”.
However, if n1 ≠ n2, the total declination is not “0”, and is proportional to the difference in refractive index between the two wedge prisms.
Therefore, here, the refractive indexes of the two high-speed
As examples of wedge prisms having the same specific gravity and different refractive indexes, for example, the following combinations are conceivable.

[Operation]
<Basic machining operations>
Next, the processing operation of the glass substrate with laser light will be described.
First, a plurality of
Next, the
After the
The laser light input to the pair of high-speed
Laser light emitted from the high-speed
The locus of the laser beam on the glass substrate as described above is shown in FIG. Here, due to processing errors and attachment errors in the pair of high-speed
Here, the height at which the glass is removed by one processing with a laser beam is several tens of μm. Therefore, when a hole is formed in the glass substrate G, it is generally possible to form a hole even if the condensing point is scanned only once along the processing line, that is, to remove a portion inside the processing line. Have difficulty.
Therefore, usually, the z-
Alternatively, instead of increasing the condensing point once every time along the processing line, the hole is similarly drilled by increasing it in the z-axis direction continuously at an appropriate speed and processing it in a spiral shape. be able to.

Next, as shown in FIG. 10, the laser beam is irradiated along a processing line having two straight portions extending in the x-axis direction and the y-axis direction and an arcuate curved portion between the two straight portions. Then, cooperative control in the case of processing will be described. In the example shown in FIG. 10, the movement tables 10 and 11 are controlled to move while rotating the low-speed

Next, FIG. 13 and FIG. 14 show a second processing example when processing a processing line having the same shape as the first processing example by another control process. In the example shown in FIGS. 13 and 14, the movement tables 10 and 11 are controlled to move while rotating the low-speed

[Feature]
In the present embodiment as described above, a laser beam is deflected and rotated while moving the work table 2 in the x and y directions, thereby drawing a larger radius than the processing line when processing the curved portion of the processing line. The work table 2 can be moved along such a locus. Therefore, even when the followability of the work table with respect to each motor is dull, the scanning speed can be made relatively high, and the processing efficiency is improved.
In addition, since the pair of second wedge prisms can be separately rotationally controlled, the amount of deflection of the laser light from the optical axis can be arbitrarily controlled.
