Abstract
Description
図1に、所定の実施例における双方向に操作可能なカテーテル100を示す。カテーテル100は、その長さ部分に沿って異なるか変更可能な剛性、硬性や可撓性を有し、異種要素からなる多重領域の剛性プロフィール、即ち構造体120を構成に有する長尺状の可撓性を備えたシャフト110を備える。容易に説明できるように、本明細書は、通常異なる剛性属性を有する多重領域構造、即ちプロフィール120を示すが、異なる剛性を有する区域は異なる可撓性を有する。
多重領域構造体120が、異なる数の領域および異なる領域プロフィールを有しつつ、なおシャフトの先端部およびより基端側の部分の間に円滑にして、且つ徐々に移行するように中間の、即ち移行領域を有してもよいことは当業者に明白であろう。更に、異なる剛性領域は様々な方法により、例えばカテーテルの周囲に複数の層を付加することにより、あるいは異なる材料のカテーテル区域を形成することにより、且つ/又はタイプ301ステンレス鋼により形成される内部先端側支持部材のような異なる内部材料を一体的になすことにより、形成することができる。
Claims (13)
- 基端部および操作可能な先端部を有する長尺状の可撓性を備えたシャフトと、同シャフトの操作可能な先端部は、
第1の区域と、
同第1の区域に対して基端側に位置され第1の区域と比較してより低い可撓性又はより高い剛性を備える第2の区域と、
該第1の区域および第2の区域に対して基端側に位置され、第1の区域および第2の区域より低い可撓性又はより高い剛性を備える第3の区域とを有し、第2の区域の剛性は、各第1の区域および第3の区域の間の剛性を徐々に移行すべく、その長さ部分に沿って変化し、該第2の区域以外の少なくとも1つの区域は、その長さ部分の少なくとも一部に沿って可変の剛性を備えることを特徴とする操作可能な血管内カテーテル。 - 前記第2の区域の剛性は、第1の区域および第3の区域間にてその長さ部分に沿ってほぼ直線的に段状に変化することを特徴とする請求項1に記載のカテーテル。
- 前記第2の区域の剛性は、第1の区域および第3の区域間にてその長さ部分に沿ってほぼ直線的に傾斜路状に変化することを特徴とする請求項1に記載のカテーテル。
- 前記第3の区域の少なくとも一部の剛性は、その長さ部分に沿って変化することを特徴とする請求項1に記載のカテーテル。
- 前記第3の区域は、
前記第2の区域に対して基端側に隣接して位置される第1のセグメントと、
同第1のセグメントに対して基端側に隣接して位置される第2のセグメントとを含み、第3の区域の第2のセグメントは、第3の区域の第1のセグメントより低い可撓性又はより高い剛性を備え、第1の区域は、その長さ部分に沿ってほぼ一定、即ち明りょうに区別される剛性を有し、第2の区域の剛性はその長さ部分に沿って変化することを特徴とする請求項4に記載のカテーテル。 - 前記第2の区域において剛性が変化する割合は、第3の区域の第2のセグメントにおいて剛性が変化する割合より小さいことを特徴とする請求項5に記載のカテーテル。
- 前記第1区域は、その長さ部分に沿ってほぼ一定、即ち明りょうに区別される剛性を有することを特徴とする請求項1に記載のカテーテル。
- 前記第1区域が第2の区域より少ないトルクを付与することと、第2の区域は第3の区域より少ないトルクを付与することとを特徴とする請求項1に記載のカテーテル。
- 前記第1の区域は、内部支持部材を含むことを特徴とする請求項1に記載のカテーテル。
- 前記内部支持部材は120,000psi(約827.37MPa)を越える降伏強度を有する材料により形成されることを特徴とする請求項9に記載のカテーテル。
- 内部支持部材はタイプ301ステンレス鋼により形成されることを特徴とする請求項9に記載のカテーテル。
- 前記シャフトの基端部に連結されるハンドルと、
シャフトの操作可能な先端部に支持される電極と、
該ハンドルからシャフトを通過して延び、シャフトの操作可能な先端部を制御可能に湾曲させるべく操作可能なワイヤとを更に備えることを特徴とする請求項1乃至11のいずれか一項に記載のカテーテル。 - ハンドルと、
第1の管状区域と、
同第1の管状区域に対して基端側に位置され第1の管状区域と比較してより低い可撓性又はより高い剛性を備える第2の管状区域と、
該第1の管状区域および第2の管状区域に対して基端側に位置され、第1の管状区域および第2の管状区域より低い可撓性又はより高い剛性を備える第3の管状区域と、第2の管状区域の剛性は、各第1の管状区域および第3の管状区域の間の剛性を徐々に移行すべく、その長さ部分に沿って変化し、該第2の管状区域以外の少なくとも1つの管状区域は、その長さ部分の少なくとも一部に沿って可変の剛性を備えることと、
ハンドルから延び、且つ第1の管状区域、第2の管状区域、および第3の管状区域に対して基端側に位置され、第1の管状区域、第2の管状区域、および第3の管状区域より低い可撓性を備えるか、より高い剛性を備える第4の管状区域とを備えることを特徴とする操作可能な血管内カテーテル。
