Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a method for preventing clogging of silica to prevent clogging of silica in exhaust gas generated in a firing furnace used in a flameproofing process, carbonization process, etc., which is a carbon fiber manufacturing process, in an exhaust gas passage region. More specifically, the present invention relates to a carbon fiber manufacturing method that prevents the silica from being deposited by using kinetic energy when exhaust gas is discharged.
For example, as a method for producing a carbon fiber bundle using a polyacrylonitrile fiber bundle as a precursor fiber bundle, the precursor fiber bundle was subjected to a flameproofing treatment (flameproofing step) in an oxidizing atmosphere at 200 to 300 ° C. Thereafter, it is known to perform a pre-carbonization treatment (pre-carbonization step) at 300 to 1000 ° C., and further perform carbonization (carbonization step) in an inert gas atmosphere at 1000 ° C. or higher.
In the flameproofing step of converting the precursor fiber bundle into the flameproofed fiber bundle, fusion occurs between the single fibers, the firing becomes uneven, and troubles such as fluff and yarn breakage occur. In order to avoid this obstacle, a silicone-based oil agent is usually applied to the precursor fiber bundle before flame resistance because it has high heat resistance and effectively suppresses fusion. However, when a silicone fluid is used for the precursor fiber bundle, silicon oxide or the like, which is a decomposition product of the silicone fluid, is generated in the flameproofing process and is deposited and accumulated on the flameproofing furnace wall, or carbon in the carbonization process. It accumulates in the exhaust gas treatment line of the chemical furnace and reduces the operability of each process and reduces the strength of the carbon fiber.
As a mechanism for reducing the strength of the carbon fiber bundle, the single fiber constituting the precursor fiber bundle reacts with silicon oxide (silica) present in the precursor fiber bundle at a high temperature and is oxidized to gasify as carbon monoxide. It is considered that defects are introduced into the obtained carbon fiber bundle and the strength is lowered. The temperature at which the reaction occurs varies depending on the type of the silicon compound to be reacted, but it is generally considered that the reaction rate is fast at a high temperature of 1000 ° C. or higher in the carbonization step. In addition, it is thought that the silica which exists in a precursor fiber bundle originates in the silicone type oil agent provided to the precursor fiber bundle as a raw material for manufacturing a carbon fiber bundle as mentioned above.
Thus, the silica that is considered to be generated by the application of the silicone oil is deposited in the exhaust gas treatment passages of various firing furnaces such as a flame-proofing furnace and a carbonizing furnace in the carbon fiber manufacturing process, and the operability as described above. This is a factor that decreases the strength of the carbon fiber and the strength of the carbon fiber. Therefore, many proposals have been made to eliminate the silica so that the silica is not clogged in the exhaust gas treatment passage.
For example, according to Japanese Patent Laid-Open No. 2001-324119 (Patent Document 1), an exhaust gas pipe passage that is horizontally disposed above the carbonization furnace and opens into the exhaust gas combustion chamber is generated in the carbonization furnace. When the exhaust gas is guided and introduced into the exhaust gas combustion chamber, an exhaust gas flow rate adjusting valve for adjusting the amount of exhaust gas introduced into the exhaust gas combustion chamber is disposed between the exhaust gas pipe passage and the opening. ing. The exhaust gas flow rate adjusting valve has an operating rod extending horizontally from the front center of the valve body on the combustion chamber side to the outside of the exhaust gas combustion chamber, and is introduced from the opening by moving the operating rod forward and backward. The flow rate of the exhaust gas to be adjusted is adjusted, and clogging is prevented by scraping out silica adhering to the periphery of the opening into the exhaust gas fuel chamber by a so-called scraper that has a special shape.
In heat exchangers and boilers, silica is blown away using soot blow using a fluid such as air or steam. For example, in Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 2008-231644 (Patent Document 2) and Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 2009-174078 (Patent Document 3), a high-temperature exhaust gas that is burned in a heat treatment chamber for exhaust gas of a carbonization furnace is heated. After lowering the temperature through the exchanger, it is discharged to the outside air through a filter, and the outside air heated by the heat exchanger and heated is introduced into the flameproofing furnace, While the outside air is forced to circulate in the hot air circulation path in the flameproofing furnace with a circulation fan provided in the flameproofing furnace, a part of the silica is attached to the flameproofing furnace wall by so-called air blow together with hot air. It is discharged outside the furnace. According to
The silica clogging prevention method using the scraper and chain described above is often intermittent operation. For this reason, pressure fluctuation in the system occurs every intermittent operation, and the pressure in the kiln installed upstream fluctuates. May be affected. In addition, in the case of mechanical types such as scrapers and chains, the material used must be a refractory metal, and regular maintenance against thermal fatigue is required, and it is necessary to renew every few years. Inevitably leads to cost increase.
On the other hand, in the case of the silica clogging prevention method by blowing air, steam, etc., there are many continuous operations. However, the continuous operation increases the total air volume, which necessitates an increase in fan power, which increases power consumption and increases costs. Leads to. In particular, when steam is used, there is a problem of corrosion due to reaching the acid dew point in the low temperature part.
In any case, in the conventional techniques as described above, any technique cannot be completely eliminated because silica clogging partially remains, and the duct resistance increases in the duct and the fan output seems to be insufficient. become. Also, every time the output is increased, pressure fluctuations in the system occur, affecting the quality. Particularly in the heat exchanger, there is a problem that the heat transfer efficiency is lowered. In order to prevent these, complicated maintenance work such as periodically cleaning the inside of the system occurs. Further, since the deposited silica is suddenly scattered, there are many cases in which process stability is lacking due to a sudden pressure fluctuation in the system. Therefore, it is important for process stability that silica is not clogged.
The present invention has been made to solve these conventional problems, and an object of the present invention is to provide a carbon fiber production method capable of easily and smoothly removing silica deposited in the system as much as possible in carbon fiber production. There is.
The object is to perform a pre-carbonization treatment at 300 to 1000 ° C. after subjecting the precursor fiber bundle, which is a basic structure of the present invention, to a flame resistance treatment in an oxidizing atmosphere at 200 to 300 ° C., and further to 1000 A carbon fiber manufacturing method for carbonization in an inert gas atmosphere at or above ° C,
When the exhaust gas generated in the firing furnace is burned in the exhaust gas combustion path,
The density of the exhaust gas (kg / m 3 ) and the wind speed (m / s) in the exhaust gas passage region are achieved by the carbon fiber manufacturing method that satisfies the following equation (1).
Density (kg / m 3 ) × Wind speed (m / s) 2 ≧ 250 …… (1)
The value of the formula (1) is preferably 400 or more.
The exhaust gas passage area includes an exhaust gas conduit, a boiler can passage, a heat exchanger passage, and the like, and the fluid velocity becomes extremely slow in an apparatus having a complicated structure such as a heat exchanger or a boiler. Since there is a dead space, even if the density × wind speed 2 is 400 or more, silica may remain in that portion. For this reason, it is desirable to satisfy the above formula (1) by making the cross section of the exhaust gas flow path circular and adjusting its inner diameter. In addition, it is desirable that the exhaust gas passage region does not form a dead space where the wind speed becomes extremely slow. For this reason, the cross section of the exhaust gas passage is preferably circular.
According to the present invention, when the value of density × wind speed 2 is 250 or more, preferably 400 or more, silica contained in the exhaust gas moving in the flow channel by the kinetic energy of the exhaust gas itself is used as the wall surface of the flow channel. The flow path can be smoothly moved together with the silica without being attached. For example, in the case of high temperature exhaust gas at 5000 NM 3 / h × 800 ° C., the wind speed is usually designed in the range of 2 to 20 m / s with reference to the exhaust gas standard wind speed and the low pressure gas standard wind speed. In this range, the value of density × wind speed 2 is 1.3 to 130, so silica is clogged in the pipeline. However, if the pipe is a circular pipe and the inner diameter is 500 mm or less, the value of wind speed 27.8 m / s and density × wind speed 2 is 250 or more, and silica clogging can be prevented. The wind speed at this time is the average wind speed in the flow path, and the value of density × wind speed 2 is 250 or more, and sufficient kinetic energy can be given to the exhaust gas on the wall surface on which silica is deposited. Clogging can be greatly reduced.
Currently, it is possible to continuously supply precursor fiber bundles by improving containers packed with precursor fiber bundles and progressing to yarn joining technology. However, silica clogging during the subsequent carbon fiber manufacturing process is possible. Therefore, it was necessary to periodically stop the process and clean it, which hindered continuous operation. According to the present invention, silica clogging is eliminated as described above, and further continuous operation is possible.
In this way, in the present invention, silica clogging can be easily eliminated simply by adjusting the wind speed in the exhaust gas passage region and the inner diameter of the flow path, and equipment for preventing silica clogging is provided. The number of points can be greatly reduced, which not only leads to reduced equipment costs and maintenance costs, but also enables continuous operation.

FIG. 3 shows a schematic configuration of the carbon fiber manufacturing apparatus disclosed in Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 2009-174078 (Patent Document 3). Below, based on the gazette, the carbon fiber manufacturing apparatus and the manufacturing method of the said fiber are demonstrated concretely. Here, since the carbon fiber production apparatus is described in detail in

The so-called vertical flow type in which hot air is blown onto the precursor fiber bundle will be described below, but the parallel flow type in which hot air is flowed in parallel with the precursor fiber bundle to perform the flame resistance treatment is also the same. The flameproofing

Here, in the present invention, for example, air is positively introduced into the exhaust gas containing the combustion-treated silica, and the kinetic energy of the air mixed exhaust gas itself is increased to deposit in the system. Deposition is prevented by actively flowing the silica to be tried. That is, the inner diameter of the duct, the flow path in the boiler can, the heat exchanger so that the density of the air mixed exhaust gas (kg / m 3 ) × wind velocity (m / s) 2 is 250 or more, preferably 400 or more. If the flow path and the like can be designed appropriately, silica clogging can be greatly suppressed. In the case of a duct, it is desirable that the cross section be circular in order not to create a dead space where the wind speed becomes extremely slow.
According to the embodiment shown in FIG. 1, the carbonization

As shown in FIG. 1, the

Next, the outline of the carbon fiber manufacturing method using the above-described carbon fiber manufacturing apparatus will be specifically described with reference to FIG.
(Flame resistance process)
In the flameproofing process, the hot air heated by the hot air heating means 5 passes through the
Next, the hot air passes from the

The precursor fiber bundle F used in the flameproofing process is a tow in which thousands to hundreds of thousands of single fibers are bundled. Examples of the single fiber include PAN-based and pitch-based fibers. Examples of the hot air (oxidizing gas) blown to the precursor fiber bundle F in the flameproofing process include oxygen-containing gas such as air. Industrially, air is preferable. The heating temperature of the hot air is usually 200 to 300 ° C. The wind speed of the hot air blown to the precursor fiber bundle F is often in the range of 0.2 to 1.5 m / s, but is not limited to this range, and the tension of the precursor fiber bundle F and It is determined appropriately in consideration of the charging pitch. The flameproofing treatment may be performed in a single flameproofing furnace, or may be performed simultaneously and / or stepwise using a plurality of flameproofing furnaces.

The flame-resistant fiber bundle obtained by flame-proofing the precursor fiber bundle F is then introduced into the
In the present embodiment, for example, when the high-temperature exhaust gas discharged from the carbonization furnace exhaust

Therefore, the temperature detection means 26 provided at the subsequent stage of the

The carbon fiber bundle obtained through the above carbonization step is further subjected to a surface treatment as needed to impart adhesiveness with the resin. The surface treatment method is not particularly limited as long as it is a method capable of imparting adhesiveness to a resin, and examples thereof include a dry method such as ozone oxidation and a wet method in which an electrolytic surface treatment is performed in an electrolytic solution. A sizing agent is further applied to the surface-treated carbon fiber bundle as necessary. The sizing agent has a function of improving the handleability of the carbon fiber bundle and the affinity with the resin. The type of the sizing agent is not particularly limited as long as desired characteristics can be obtained, and examples thereof include a sizing agent mainly composed of an epoxy resin, a polyether resin, an epoxy-modified polyurethane resin, and a polyester resin.
FIG. 3 shows a second embodiment of the present invention.
According to the figure, the
Since the present embodiment has the above-described configuration, the density of the exhaust gas passing through the exhaust gas passage 36 (kg / m 3 ) × wind speed (m / s) is set by appropriately setting the amount of the outside air that is fed. The value of 2 can be set to 250 or more, and silica clogging deposited on the inner wall portion of the
In the present invention, in a device having a complicated structure such as a heat exchanger or a boiler, there is often a dead space where the fluid velocity becomes extremely slow. Even if the value of density × wind speed 2 is 400 or more, silica may remain in the dead space portion. If this remaining significantly affects the heat exchange efficiency, a soot blower or an air blow facility may be provided. In this case, there is a concern about pressure fluctuations in the system, but silica clogging is partial and insignificant, so pressure such as soot blow may be smaller than before, and it may affect the upstream firing furnace. Absent. In addition, since the number of operations such as soot blows is small, there is no particular burden.
