Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a control device for an internal combustion engine.
Conventionally, as disclosed in, for example, Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 2006-69472, a vehicle stabilization control system that suppresses the influence of driver operation disturbance, road surface disturbance, and the like and stabilizes the vehicle posture and vehicle characteristics has been proposed. ing. In this system, various vibrations on the vehicle spring are estimated by a vehicle body vibration model, and the required engine torque corresponding to the required driving force is corrected so as to suppress pitching vibration which is one of vibrations on the vehicle body spring.
By the way, when the three-way catalyst or the exhaust gas sensor disposed in the exhaust passage of the internal combustion engine deteriorates, normal air-fuel ratio feedback control cannot be executed, and the emission characteristics deteriorate. Therefore, exhaust system failure diagnosis control (OBD) may be performed for the purpose of detecting abnormalities in these three-way catalysts and exhaust gas sensors at an early stage. In the exhaust system OBD, more specifically, the control target air-fuel ratio of the internal combustion engine is changed, and changes in the state quantities of various exhaust system parts before and after the change are calculated as parameters. Then, the degree of deterioration is detected based on the parameter. For example, in the OBD of a three-way catalyst, the maximum oxygen storage amount is calculated by forcibly changing the air-fuel ratio upstream of the three-way catalyst to rich or lean. Based on the maximum oxygen storage amount, the degree of deterioration of the three-way catalyst is detected.
Here, when the sprung mass damping control for suppressing the vibration on the vehicle spring as in the above-described conventional system is executed, the air-fuel ratio is greatly roughened due to the fluctuation of the required torque during the period. For this reason, if the sprung mass damping control is executed during the execution of the OBD of the exhaust system described above, the exhaust air / fuel ratio cannot be maintained at a desired value, and the failure diagnosis parameters can be accurately calculated. It is assumed that this is not possible. As described above, in the conventional system, the failure diagnosis control of the exhaust system cannot be executed with high accuracy during the execution of the sprung mass damping control, and it is still difficult to ensure the detection opportunity of the failure diagnosis and the diagnosis accuracy. It left room for improvement.
The present invention has been made to solve the above-described problems. The sprung mass damping control and the failure diagnosis control of the exhaust system are compatible at a high level, ensuring a detection opportunity for failure diagnosis and improving diagnosis accuracy. A seventh invention is the sixth invention, wherein
The sprung mass damping control realizes a required torque mainly based on an air-fuel ratio change when the parameter acquisition means is executed.
According to the first invention, when the failure diagnosis of the internal combustion engine is executed while the sprung mass damping control is being executed, the failure is less than when the sprung mass damping control is not being executed. The variation width of the intermediate variable representing the degree is increased. While the sprung mass damping control is being executed, the air-fuel ratio changes greatly depending on the demand for the sprung mass damping control. For this reason, the failure diagnosis parameter calculated using the sensor output of the exhaust gas sensor varies under the influence of the change in the air-fuel ratio. According to the present invention, while the sprung mass damping control is being executed, the variation range of the intermediate variable indicating the failure degree is set to be large. It is possible to effectively suppress erroneous normality determination for diagnosing normality. Thereby, even while the sprung mass damping control is being executed, the abnormality diagnosis of the internal combustion engine can be executed with high accuracy, so that the opportunity for detection of the abnormality diagnosis can be effectively ensured.
According to the second invention, it is possible to effectively diagnose the degree of deterioration of the catalyst provided in the exhaust passage even while the sprung mass damping control is being executed.
According to the third aspect, the maximum oxygen storage amount of the catalyst when the air-fuel ratio of the internal combustion engine is changed between the predetermined rich air-fuel ratio and the lean air-fuel ratio is calculated as a parameter. For this reason, according to the present invention, it is possible to accurately determine the degree of deterioration of the catalyst using the maximum oxygen storage amount as a parameter.
According to the fourth invention, it is possible to effectively diagnose the responsiveness of the exhaust gas sensor even while the sprung mass damping control is being executed.
According to the fifth invention, it is possible to effectively diagnose the imbalance amount of the air-fuel ratio sensor even while the sprung mass damping control is being executed.
According to the sixth aspect of the invention, parameter acquisition is performed using the air-fuel ratio change caused by the execution of sprung mass damping control. For this reason, according to the present invention, it is possible to effectively obtain a parameter detection opportunity without actively changing the air-fuel ratio.
According to the seventh aspect, when the parameter is detected, the required torque by the sprung mass damping control is realized mainly based on the air-fuel ratio change. For this reason, according to the present invention, the change in the air-fuel ratio due to the sprung mass damping control can be increased, so that the parameter detection opportunity can be obtained effectively.
Embodiments of the present invention will be described below with reference to the drawings. In addition, the same code | symbol is attached | subjected to the element which is common in each figure, and the overlapping description is abbreviate | omitted. The present invention is not limited to the following embodiments.
Embodiment 1 FIG.
[Configuration of Embodiment 1]
The internal combustion engine according to the present embodiment is a spark ignition type internal combustion engine mounted on a vehicle, and has a system capable of executing sprung mass damping control described later. In addition, the internal combustion engine has a system capable of executing catalyst deterioration diagnosis control (OBD) provided in the exhaust system independently of the sprung mass damping control. The system for performing these controls in the present embodiment is configured as shown in the block diagram of FIG. In FIG. 1, each element of the system is indicated by a block, and signal transmission (main) between the blocks is indicated by an arrow. The overall configuration of the system according to the present embodiment and its features will be described below with reference to FIG.
As shown in FIG. 1, the system of the present embodiment includes a sprung mass damping
Further, the system of the present embodiment includes a catalyst
Further, the deterioration
Furthermore, the
[Characteristic Operation of First Embodiment]
Next, the characteristic operation of the system of the internal combustion engine of the present embodiment will be described with reference to FIGS. In the system of the present embodiment, the above-described sprung mass damping control is executed when the sprung vibration of the vehicle is detected. The required torque varies during the execution of the sprung mass damping control. For this reason, during such a control period, a change in the air amount and a corresponding change in the air-fuel ratio occur, and as a result, the air-fuel ratio becomes unstable without being stabilized.
Here, the OBD of the catalyst is started when a predetermined detection condition is satisfied regardless of whether or not the sprung mass damping control is executed. In this OBD, as described above, the control target air-fuel ratio is changed from the rich side to the lean side with respect to the stoichiometry, and the maximum oxygen storage amount Cmax is detected. Therefore, when the maximum oxygen storage amount Cmax is detected during the execution of the sprung mass damping control, the air-fuel ratio of the internal combustion engine is affected by the roughening, and the maximum oxygen storage amount Cmax and the catalyst deterioration degree are detected. There is a risk that the relationship between and will vary beyond the variation range specified in the map. In this case, there is a possibility of causing an erroneous normal determination in which it is erroneously determined that the catalyst should be determined to be normal.
Therefore, in the system of the present embodiment, when calculating the catalyst deterioration degree, a catalyst deterioration degree map having a different variation width is used according to the execution state of the sprung mass damping control. More specifically, the
FIG. 3 is a diagram showing two catalyst deterioration degree maps 32 and 34 in comparison. In FIG. 3, when compared with the same maximum oxygen storage amount Cmax, the first catalyst
On the other hand, when compared with the same maximum oxygen storage amount Cmax, the second catalyst
The
As described above, according to the system of the present embodiment, during the execution of sprung mass damping control that is greatly affected by air-fuel ratio roughness, the catalyst has a wider variation range than during normal control in which the control is not performed. A deterioration degree map is selected. Thereby, the erroneous normal determination in catalyst OBD can be suppressed effectively. Further, according to the system of the present embodiment, the catalyst deterioration determination control can be executed even while the sprung mass damping control is being executed. Therefore, the opportunity for executing the catalyst deterioration control is effectively ensured. be able to.
By the way, in the system of Embodiment 1 described above, the maximum oxygen storage amount Cmax is detected as the detection parameter of the catalyst OBD, but the parameters usable for the OBD are not limited to this. That is, other known parameters may be used as long as they are related to the degree of deterioration of the catalyst.
Further, in the system of the first embodiment described above, the OBD of the catalyst is executed as the OBD of the exhaust system, but the OBD to which the present invention can be applied is not limited to this. That is, as long as the OBD uses the air-fuel ratio change, it may be applied to other known OBDs, for example, the OBD of an air-fuel ratio sensor. In an internal combustion engine provided with an air-fuel ratio sensor for each cylinder. Further, the present invention may be applied to an OBD of cylinder-to-cylinder air-fuel ratio imbalance.
FIG. 4 is a diagram showing an example of a map used for OBD of the air-fuel ratio sensor. In this map, the sensor deterioration degree (responsiveness) is associated with a predetermined variation width with respect to the air-fuel ratio sensor OBD parameters such as the air-fuel ratio sensor response time constant and the sensor trajectory length. More specifically, this map includes a map that is selected during normal control (during non-execution of sprung mass damping control) and takes a sensor deterioration degree with a narrow variation range, and when the air-fuel ratio roughness is large (spring A map for selecting a degree of sensor deterioration with a wide variation range, which is selected during execution of upper vibration suppression control, is set. In the OBD of the air-fuel ratio sensor, by using such a map, it is possible to effectively suppress erroneous normal determination during execution of sprung mass damping control.
FIG. 5 is a diagram showing an example of a map used for OBD of cylinder-by-cylinder air-fuel ratio imbalance. In this map, the imbalance amount is associated with a predetermined variation width to the cylinder-by-cylinder air-fuel ratio imbalance OBD parameters such as the trajectory length of the air-fuel ratio sensor and the feedback learning value of the oxygen sensor downstream of the catalyst. More specifically, this map includes a map that is selected during normal control (during non-execution of sprung mass damping control) and takes an imbalance amount with a narrow variation range, and when air-fuel ratio roughness is large (spring A map that takes an imbalance amount with a wide variation range, which is selected during the execution of the upper vibration suppression control, is set. In the OBD of cylinder-by-cylinder air-fuel ratio imbalance, by using such a map, it is possible to effectively suppress erroneous normal determination during execution of sprung mass damping control.
In the first embodiment described above, the OBD
Embodiment 2. FIG.
[Features of Embodiment 2]
In the system of the first embodiment described above, when the predetermined detection condition is satisfied, the control target air-fuel ratio upstream of the catalyst is changed from the rich side to the lean side with respect to the stoichiometry, and the maximum oxygen storage amount Cmax is detected. To do. Here, during the execution of the sprung mass damping control described above, the air-fuel ratio fluctuates between rich and lean due to fluctuations in the required torque.
Therefore, in the system according to the second embodiment, the OBD detection parameter is detected using the air-fuel ratio change caused by the execution of sprung mass damping control. FIG. 6 is a timing chart showing an execution state of the catalyst OBD and sprung mass damping control. In the example shown in this figure, one of the detection conditions of the catalyst OBD includes a period during which sprung mass damping control is executed. For this reason, in the timing chart shown in this drawing, the OBD detection condition is satisfied and the detection of the OBD parameter is performed during a part of the period during the execution of the sprung mass damping control. As a result, the maximum oxygen storage amount Cmax can be detected by utilizing the air-fuel ratio change by the sprung mass damping control, so that the maximum oxygen storage amount Cmax can be positively detected without giving the air-fuel ratio change. It becomes possible. Thereby, the OBD parameter detection opportunity can be increased and the detection accuracy can be improved.
In the control described above, it is preferable that the required torque is controlled mainly by the air-fuel ratio during the period in which the maximum oxygen storage amount Cmax is detected. More specifically, as shown in FIG. 6, the required torque is realized mainly by the injection amount and the ignition timing during the period of detecting the OBD parameter, and the air amount and the ignition timing are set during the other periods. It is preferable to achieve the required torque on the main body. As a result, the amount of change in the air-fuel ratio at the time of detecting the OBD parameter can be increased, so that opportunities for detecting the OBD parameter can be effectively increased.
By the way, in the system of the second embodiment described above, the OBD of the catalyst is executed as the OBD of the exhaust system, but the OBD to which the present invention can be applied is not limited to this. That is, as long as the OBD uses the air-fuel ratio change, for example, the OBD may be applied to the OBD of the air-fuel ratio sensor described in the first embodiment or the OBD of cylinder-by-cylinder air-fuel ratio imbalance.
