Abstract
【解決手段】多数の凹凸部を平面状に有する全反射低減層Aを備えた面発光素子であって、該全反射低減層Aの光取り出し側に屈折率調整層Bが接しており、全反射低減層Aの屈折率nA、屈折率調整層Bの屈折率nBが、1.0<nB<nAの条件を満たすことにより、正面方向および斜め方向の光取り出し効率の優れた面発光素子を作製することが可能となる。

Description
(1)多数の凹凸部を平面状に有する全反射低減層Aを備えた面発光素子であって、該全反射低減層Aの光取り出し側に屈折率調整層Bが接しており、全反射低減層Aの屈折率nA、屈折率調整層Bの屈折率nBが、1.0<nB<nAの条件を満たすことを特徴とする面発光素子。
(2)前記全反射低減層Aの凹凸部のうち、凹部のみを充填するように屈折率調整層Bが形成されていることを特徴とする(1)に記載の面発光素子。
(3)前記面発光素子が有機エレクトロルミネッセント素子であることを特徴とする(1)〜(2)のいずれかに記載の面発光素子。
(4)(1)〜(3)のいずれかに記載の面発光素子を含む照明器具。
ガラス基板(屈折率:1.52)の片面上に、光透過性の陽極電極(インジウム・錫酸化物(ITO)が形成されたITO付きガラス基板を用い、この上に、真空蒸着法により有機EL層、光反射性の陰極電極(Al、膜厚150nm)をこの順に形成し面発光体を作製した。その後、窒素雰囲下においてキャップガラスで封止することにより、18mm×18mmの発光領域とする白色発光の評価素子を作製した。
実施例1の作製手順において、全反射低減フィルム上に屈折率調整層Bを形成していない以外は、全く同様の方法で面発光素子を作製し、比較例1とした。

- 多数の凹凸部を平面状に有する全反射低減層Aを備えた面発光素子であって、該全反射低減層Aの光取り出し側に屈折率調整層Bが接しており、全反射低減層Aの屈折率nA、屈折率調整層Bの屈折率nBが、1.0<nB<nAの条件を満たすことを特徴とする面発光素子。
- 前記全反射低減層Aの凹凸部のうち、凹部のみを充填するように屈折率調整層Bが形成されていることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の面発光素子。
- 前記面発光素子が有機エレクトロルミネッセント素子であることを特徴とする請求項1〜2のいずれかに記載の面発光素子。
- 請求項1〜3のいずれかに記載の面発光素子を含む照明器具。
