Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a method for manufacturing a light emitting device including a phosphor layer, and more particularly to a manufacturing method capable of adjusting chromaticity.
As an LED device that emits white light, a device including a blue LED chip mounted on a base material and a phosphor-containing resin is known. Part of the blue light of the LED excites the phosphor, and white light is obtained by mixing the blue light emitted from the LED chip and the yellow fluorescence emitted from the excited phosphor. Instead of the phosphor emitting yellow fluorescence, it is also possible to use a mixture of phosphors capable of emitting green and red light. As a method for forming the phosphor-containing resin, generally, a coating method such as printing or dispensing is used.
It is the ratio of the amount of light emitted from the blue LED and the amount of light emitted from the phosphor that dominates the light color (chromaticity) of the white LED device. At the time of manufacture, the application conditions such as the phosphor concentration to obtain the desired chromaticity and the thickness of the phosphor resin layer on the chip are determined. By applying under these conditions, the chromaticity variation between individual products can be reduced. It is suppressed. However, even if it is manufactured under certain conditions, there will be some variation in the thickness and amount of the phosphor layer on the chip. Due to the variation in the phosphor layer, the light emission chromaticity of the product LED device varies.
At present, lighting inspections are performed on products with chromaticity variations, and the products are ranked according to product specifications. For this reason, when a product having a chromaticity other than the rank that matches the product specification is generated, the cost increases. Moreover, even if the products are in the same rank, for example, when the products at both ends of the rank coordinates are lit side by side, the color of light emission is slightly different, and a problem may occur depending on the product.
As described in
The objective of this invention is providing the manufacturing method of the light emitting element which can adjust chromaticity, without changing the shape of fluorescent substance containing resin.
In order to achieve the above object, according to the first aspect of the present invention, the following light emitting device is provided. That is, in a chromaticity measurement step for measuring chromaticity of light emitted from a light emitting device including a light emitting element and a phosphor layer including a phosphor that is excited by light emitted from the light emitting element and emits fluorescence, When the measured chromaticity is out of the predetermined range, the phosphor layer is irradiated with laser light of a predetermined wavelength, and a part of the phosphor is deactivated without changing the shape of the phosphor layer. And a chromaticity adjustment step of shifting the degree.
When the phosphor layer contains a phosphor and a resin, it is preferable that the laser light irradiated in the chromaticity adjustment step is absorbed by the phosphor and has a wavelength that transmits the resin.
In the chromaticity adjustment step, it is possible to irradiate the phosphor layer located directly above the light emitting element with laser light. Thereby, chromaticity can be effectively shifted.
When there are a plurality of light emitting elements and the phosphor layer is arranged so as to cover the plurality of light emitting elements integrally, in the chromaticity adjustment step, the phosphor layer located in the gap between adjacent light emitting elements is irradiated with laser light. It is possible. Thereby, the damage given to a light emitting element can be suppressed.
When there are a plurality of types of phosphors contained in the phosphor layer, it is possible to deactivate a plurality of types of phosphors using a wavelength that is absorbed by any of the plurality of types of phosphors as a laser beam. .
When there are multiple types of phosphors contained in the phosphor layer, only some types of phosphors are used as the laser light, using wavelengths that are absorbed only by some types of phosphors of the plurality of types of phosphors. Can be deactivated.
In the chromaticity adjustment step, it is possible to adjust the chromaticity shift amount by controlling the laser irradiation amount.
Further, in the chromaticity adjustment step, the deviation between the chromaticity measured in the chromaticity measurement step and a predetermined range is calculated using the relationship between the laser light irradiation amount and the chromaticity shift amount obtained in advance. It is possible to determine the irradiation amount of the corresponding laser beam and irradiate the phosphor layer with the irradiation amount of the laser beam. Thereby, the chromaticity shift amount is adjusted by the laser irradiation amount, and a light emitting device having a predetermined chromaticity range can be manufactured.
According to the present invention, the chromaticity can be adjusted by a simple process of irradiating laser light without deforming the phosphor layer. As a result, a light emitting device having a chromaticity within a predetermined range can be manufactured, the manufacturing efficiency is improved, and the product quality is also improved. In addition, since the phosphor layer is not deformed, loss of light flux accompanying the deformation can be prevented, and a light emitting device with high emission efficiency can be provided.
Hereinafter, an embodiment of the present invention will be described.
In the present invention, in a light-emitting device including a phosphor resin that covers an LED chip, the phosphor is deactivated by irradiating a part of the phosphor resin with laser light without deforming the phosphor resin portion. Here, the deactivation of the phosphor means that the appearance of the phosphor visually does not change, but it does not emit fluorescence even when irradiated with excitation light of a predetermined wavelength.
By deactivating part of the phosphor in the phosphor resin part so that it does not emit fluorescence, the amount of light that passes through the phosphor resin from the LED chip and is emitted as it is is relatively large. The degree changes in a direction approaching the emitted light chromaticity of the LED chip. The chromaticity can be adjusted by adjusting the amount of phosphor to be deactivated.
(First embodiment)
A method for manufacturing the light emitting device according to the first embodiment will be described with reference to FIGS. 1A and 1B are a cross-sectional view and a front view of the light-emitting device of the present embodiment.
1 (a) and 1 (b), the light emitting device includes a
In the present embodiment, the phosphor contained in the
As the resin of the
It is also possible to use an inorganic sealing material such as glass or ceramic instead of the resin. Further, it is possible to form the phosphor layer by molding the phosphor itself without using a resin or a sealing material.
Next, the manufacturing method of the light-emitting device of this embodiment is demonstrated using the flowchart of FIG.
In
For example, methyl silicone (OE6336 manufactured by Toray Dow Corning Co., Ltd.) or phenyl silicone (OE6520 manufactured by Toray Dow Corning Co., Ltd.) can be used as the resin, and these resins have the transmission spectrum shown in FIG. Show.
When a YAG phosphor is used as the phosphor, the excitation light spectrum (absorption spectrum) of the YAG phosphor is as shown in FIG. (The method for measuring the excitation light spectrum of FIG. 4 will be described in detail in the embodiment.) As is apparent from the excitation spectrum of FIG. 4, the YAG phosphor is excited by a wide range of light in the ultraviolet region. It can be seen that light of a wavelength is absorbed.
Accordingly, by selecting, for example, a wavelength of 266 nm or 355 nm as the laser wavelength, the phosphor can be deactivated because it is absorbed by the phosphor and passes through the resin. Wavelengths of 355 nm and 266 nm are the third and fourth harmonics of a YAG laser (wavelength 1064 nm) and can be obtained using a nonlinear crystal.
Moreover, in order to prevent the laser light from reaching the

A phosphor resin obtained by kneading a predetermined amount of phosphor with uncured resin is prepared, and a
Next, a lighting inspection of the light emitting device manufactured in the
A difference (chromaticity shift amount) between the chromaticity of the light emitting device of the product measured in
The laser beam is aligned with a predetermined region of the
Note that a table or the like indicating the relationship between the laser irradiation amount and the chromaticity shift amount used in
As described above, the manufacturing method of the present embodiment can adjust the chromaticity by a simple process of measuring the chromaticity and irradiating a predetermined amount of laser corresponding to the deviation from the desired chromaticity. Therefore, a light emitting device having a predetermined chromaticity range can be manufactured, and the manufacturing yield is improved. In addition, since variation in chromaticity between products can be reduced, a light emitting device with high chromaticity and high quality can be provided.
(Second Embodiment)
A method for manufacturing the light emitting device according to the second embodiment will be described.
In the second embodiment, the
Examples of the phosphor include YAG phosphor (Y 3 Al 5 O 12 : Ce 3+ ), nitride phosphor (CASN; CaAlSiN 3 : Eu 2+ ), orthosilicate phosphor ((Sr, Ba, Ca ) 2 SiO 4 : Eu 2+ or (Sr, Ba) 2 SiO 4 : Eu 2+ ), oxynitride phosphor (β sialon; (Si, Al) 6 (O, N) 8 : Eu 2+ ), An oxide garnet phosphor (Ca 3 Sc 2 Si 3 O 12 : Ce 3+ ) or the like can be mixed and used.
Specifically, for example, the
In this case, the excitation spectrum (absorption spectrum) of Ca 3 Sc 2 Si 3 O 12 : Ce 3+ and CaAlSiN 3 : Eu 2+ is as shown in FIG. 5 and FIG. In 105, for example, by irradiating the
As the resin, for example, either phenyl silicone or methyl silicone can be used. These resins have a high transmittance with respect to laser light having a wavelength of 532 nm as shown in FIG.
Therefore, a light emitting device with adjusted chromaticity can be manufactured by manufacturing in the same manner as the manufacturing method of FIG. 3 except that two types of phosphors are contained.
In addition, as a phosphor emitting red fluorescence, Gd 2 MgTiO 6 can be used instead of CaAlSiN 3 : Eu 2+ . FIG. 7 shows the excitation spectrum (absorption spectrum) of Gd 2 MgTiO 6 and the fluorescence spectrum when excited at a wavelength of 450 nm. Gd 2 MgTiO 6 absorbs 532 nm laser light, so it is dispersed in resin together with Ca 3 Sc 2 Si 3 O 12 : Ce 3+ to form a
(Third embodiment)
A method for manufacturing the light emitting device according to the third embodiment will be described.
In the third embodiment, two kinds of phosphors having different fluorescence wavelengths are contained in the
Specifically, for example, the
In this case, since the excitation spectra (absorption spectra) of the two types of phosphors are as shown in FIGS. 6 and 4, in
Therefore, a light emitting device with adjusted chromaticity can be manufactured by manufacturing in the same manner as the manufacturing method of FIG. 3 except that two types of phosphors are contained.
Examples of the present invention will be described.
In this example, a light emitting device with adjusted chromaticity was manufactured by the manufacturing method of the first embodiment.
The structure of the light emitting device is the shape of FIGS. 1A and 1B, and the

First, in order to determine the laser wavelength irradiated in the step of deactivating the phosphor (
As is apparent from the excitation spectrum of FIG. 4, the YAG phosphor is excited by a wide range of light in the ultraviolet region and absorbs light of these wavelengths. Among the wavelength ranges to be absorbed, a wavelength region having a normalized intensity of 0.10 or more was selected here. Specifically, the wavelengths are 266 nm and 355 nm.
Next, the laser wavelength which permeate | transmits resin was calculated | required. As is clear from the transmission spectrum of the resin shown in FIG. 3, methyl silicone has a transmittance of 80% or more in a wavelength region of 260 nm or more. In order to prevent the resin from being discolored or deformed during laser light irradiation, the resin transmittance is preferably 80% or more. At wavelengths of 266 nm and 355 nm, methyl silicone shows a high transmittance of 80% or more.
Next, the relationship between the laser irradiation amount to the light emitting device and the chromaticity shift amount was obtained. First, a plurality of light emitting device samples were manufactured in
各試料に表1の条件により、355nm(試料1〜10)、または266nm(試料11〜17)のレーザー光を照射した。
Each sample was irradiated with laser light of 355 nm (
In Table 1,
When irradiating the
When irradiating the
The chromaticity of the sample after irradiation was measured again, and the chromaticity difference (chromaticity shift amounts ΔCx, ΔCy) before irradiation was obtained. The results are shown in Table 1.
As shown in Table 1, it was confirmed that the samples irradiated with either 355 nm or 266 nm laser light were shifted in chromaticity by laser irradiation. FIG. 8 shows emission spectra before and after laser light irradiation of the light-emitting device of sample 12 in Table 1. As is apparent from FIG. 8, the intensity of the emission peak of the
FIG. 9 shows the measurement results of the irregularities on the surface of the
In addition, when comparing the chromaticity shift amount of each sample in Table 1, the chromaticity shift amount of the sample at the same wavelength and the same irradiation position increases as the irradiation amount increases. By controlling the laser irradiation amount, It was found that the desired chromaticity shift can be produced and the chromaticity can be adjusted.
In addition, when the amount of laser irradiation irradiated onto the
Also, from Table 1, the samples 1-6, 11-13 irradiated on the
As the resin for the phosphor resin layer, other resins such as phenyl silicone (OE6520 manufactured by Toray Dow Corning Co., Ltd.) can be used. The transmission spectrum of phenyl silicone is shown in FIG. As is apparent from FIG. 3, phenyl silicone exhibits a transmittance of 80% or more in a wavelength region of 320 nm or more. It is considered that the phosphor can be similarly deactivated by using the laser beam having a wavelength of 355 nm used in this example.
The light emitting device of each embodiment described above can be suitably used as a light source using an LED. For example, backlight LEDs for liquid crystal displays such as TVs, indoor lighting LEDs such as houses, offices and stores, outdoor lighting such as street lights, signboard lights, crime prevention lights, and landscape lights, automotive LEDs such as headlamps, various indicator LEDs There is.
