(a)入力軸に加えられるトルクによる磁気的変化を検出する検出部の外周を覆う磁気シールド部材が合成樹脂製ハウジングと一体にモールドされる。これにより、合成樹脂製ハウジングと一体にモールドされる磁気シールド部材により、例えば車載スピーカ等の外部磁界が検出部に及ぼすノイズを遮断し、検出部による検出エラーを低減できる。別部品の磁気シールド部材をハウジングの外周に固定して組立てる必要がなく、合成樹脂製ハウジング内に設けた検出部の耐ノイズ性を低コストで向上できる。
