Abstract
【解決手段】ターボチャージャ18は、タービンハウジングと、その中に配置されたタービン翼車20とを備える。センタハウジングが、タービンハウジングに連結され、圧縮機ハウジングが、センタハウジングに取り付けられている。圧縮機26および28が、圧縮機ハウジング内に配置され、背中合わせの向きに2つのインペラを備える。移動可能な部材が、圧縮機ハウジング内で空気流量を制御するために、圧縮機ハウジング内の圧縮機の下流に配置されている。移動可能な部材位置は、圧縮機の作動効率を全作動範囲で向上させ、エンジン12の必要空気流量を供給するために、圧縮機インペラの1つによって生成される加圧空気の量を制御するように操作することができる。

Description
第1の空気通路122は、圧縮機に向かってある距離だけ軸方向内側に配置され、圧縮機の第1の面128へ空気を送るように構成されている。第2の空気通路124は、第1の空気通路122の周りに同心に配置されており、図9の実施形態に関して上で記述したものと同様な設計で、圧縮機の第2の面134に空気を送るように構成された第1および第2の区間130および132を有する。望むなら、圧縮機の上流で空気に所期の処理を施すために、ディフューザ135を、第2の区間132内に配置することができる。
好ましい一実施形態では、環状部材に設けられた溝152内に嵌まるような寸法および形状の突起150が、空洞内に突き出している。ただし、これは協働する部材の一構成であり、他にも多くのものが、本発明の範囲および精神内にあることが理解されよう。
Claims (10)
- タービンハウジングと、
前記タービンハウジング内に回転可能に配置され、軸に取り付けられたタービン翼車と、
前記タービンハウジングに連結され、前記軸を担持するセンタハウジングと、
前記センタハウジングに取り付けられた圧縮機ハウジングと、
前記圧縮機ハウジング内に回転可能に配置され、前記軸に取り付けられた圧縮機であって、互いに背中合わせの向きの2つのインペラを備え、前記圧縮機ハウジングが、空気を前記圧縮機ハウジング内および前記圧縮機インペラに導く少なくとも1つの空気取入口を有する圧縮機と、
前記圧縮機ハウジング内で空気流量を制御する機構と
を備えるターボチャージャアセンブリ。 - 前記圧縮機ハウジングが、圧縮機インペラそれぞれと空気が流れるように連通する別々の2つの空気取入口を有し、前記両空気取入口は、空気を前記圧縮機に対して軸方向に取り入れるように任意選択的に向きを定められ、また、前記両空気取入口は、空気を前記圧縮機に対して半径方向に取り入れるように任意選択的に向きを定められている、請求項1に記載のターボチャージャアセンブリ。
- 前記圧縮機ハウジングが、圧縮機インペラそれぞれと空気が流れるように連通する共通の単一空気取入口を備え、前記空気取入口は、空気を前記圧縮機に対して軸方向に取り入れるように向きを定められ、また、前記空気取入口は、空気を前記圧縮機に対して半径方向に取り入れるように向きを定められている、請求項1に記載のターボチャージャアセンブリ。
- 前記制御用機構が、前記圧縮機ハウジング内に移動可能に配置された環状部材を備え、
前記環状部材は、前記圧縮機内の加圧空気の流量を制御するように前記圧縮機の下流に配置され、前記環状部材は、前記圧縮機ハウジングの壁部分内に任意選択的に移動可能に配置され、作動位置を取るとき、前記圧縮機インペラの1つからの加圧空気の流量を制御するように任意選択的に位置決めされる、請求項1に記載のターボチャージャアセンブリ。 - タービンハウジングと、
前記タービンハウジング内に回転可能に配置され、軸に取り付けられたタービン翼車と、
前記タービンハウジングに連結され、前記軸を担持するセンタハウジングと、
前記センタハウジングに取り付けられた圧縮機ハウジングと、
前記圧縮機ハウジング内に回転可能に配置され、前記軸に取り付けられた圧縮機であって、互いに背中合わせの向きの2つのインペラを備え、前記圧縮機ハウジングが、前記圧縮機インペラのそれぞれと空気が流れるように連通する少なくとも1つの空気取入口を有する圧縮機と、
作動位置を取ったとき前記圧縮機インペラの1つからの加圧空気の流量を制御するように、前記圧縮機の下流で前記圧縮機ハウジングの壁の空洞内に移動可能に配置された環状部材と
を備える、ターボチャージャアセンブリ。 - 前記圧縮機ハウジングが、圧縮機インペラそれぞれと空気が流れるように連通する別々の2つの空気取入口を有し、前記両空気取入口は、空気を前記圧縮機に対して軸方向に前記圧縮機ハウジングに取り入れるように任意選択的に配置され、また、前記両空気取入口は、空気を前記圧縮機に対して半径方向に取り入れるように任意選択的に向きを定められている、請求項5に記載のターボチャージャアセンブリ。
- 前記圧縮機ハウジングが、圧縮機インペラそれぞれと空気が流れるように連通する共通の単一空気取入口を備え、前記空気取入口は、空気を任意選択的に前記圧縮機に対して軸方向に前記圧縮機ハウジングへ送り込み、また、前記両空気取入口は、空気を任意選択的に前記圧縮機に対して半径方向に前記圧縮機ハウジングへ送り込む、請求項5に記載のターボチャージャアセンブリ。
- タービンハウジングと、
前記タービンハウジング内に回転可能に配置され、軸に取り付けられたタービン翼車と、
前記タービンハウジングに連結され、前記軸を担持するセンタハウジングと、
前記センタハウジングに取り付けられた圧縮機ハウジングと、
前記圧縮機ハウジング内に回転可能に配置され、前記軸に取り付けられた圧縮機であって、互いに背中合わせの向きの2つのインペラを備え、前記圧縮機ハウジングが、前記圧縮機の周りに同心に配置された渦形室、および、同心の向きに配置された2つの空気流路に空気が流れるように連通する単一の空気取入口を有し、空気流路のそれぞれが、圧縮機インペラのそれぞれと空気が流れるように連通する圧縮機と、
前記圧縮機ハウジングの壁の空洞内に移動可能に配置され、作動位置を取ったとき、前記圧縮機インペラの1つからの加圧空気の流量を制御するように前記圧縮機と前記渦形室との間に挿入される環状部材と
を備えるターボチャージャアセンブリ。 - ターボチャージャ内に回転可能に配置されたタービン翼車を回転させるために、内燃エンジンからターボチャージャのタービンハウジングへ排気ガスを導くステップであって、
タービン翼車が回転することによって圧縮機ハウジング内の圧縮機も回転させるステップと、
前記圧縮機ハウジング内および前記圧縮機へ空気を導くステップであって、前記圧縮機が、加圧空気を生成するために、背中合わせの向きに配置された2つのインペラを備えるステップと、
前記内燃エンジンの作動状態に応じて、前記圧縮機ハウジングを出る少なくとも1つの前記インペラからの加圧空気の流量を制御するステップと
を含む、内燃エンジンによる燃焼のために加圧空気を供給する方法。 - 前記制御するステップが、前記圧縮機ハウジング内に移動可能に配置された環状部材を前記圧縮機の下流の空気流路内に突き出すように駆動するステップを含む、請求項9に記載の方法。
