Description

The present invention provides a main body housing in which an image forming unit is accommodated, an image reading unit disposed above the main body housing, and a recording paper on which an image is formed is provided between the main body housing and the image reading unit. And an image forming apparatus including a paper discharge unit.

2. Description of the Related Art Image forming apparatuses such as copiers and multifunction peripherals discharge recording paper on which an image is formed to a paper discharge unit by a paper discharge roller. Some image forming apparatuses are provided with a paper discharge unit in the body of the apparatus, and space saving is achieved by eliminating the paper discharge unit that is conventionally provided protruding from the body of the apparatus (for example, Patent Literatures 1 to 3). In such an image forming apparatus, the operator reaches to the paper discharge unit from an opening provided on the side of the image forming apparatus, and takes out the discharged recording paper from the paper discharge unit.

By the way, from the viewpoint of ease of operation by the operator, it is required that the height of the image forming apparatus is not too high. Therefore, in order to suppress the overall height of the image forming apparatus, the height of the paper discharge unit is suppressed. However, the recording paper is taken out from the side of the apparatus by reducing the height of the paper discharge unit. It becomes difficult. Therefore, for example, as disclosed in Patent Documents 1 and 2, a recess or an inclined surface is formed on the front side of the paper discharge unit as viewed from the operator, a space is provided below the recording paper, and the end of the recording paper is easily grasped. ing.

However, by forming a dent or an inclined surface on the front side of the paper discharge unit, a new problem arises that the discharged recording paper is not stable and easily slips down from the paper discharge unit.

The present invention has been made in view of the above circumstances, and provides an image forming apparatus in which the recording paper can be easily taken out from the paper discharge unit and the recording paper does not slide down while suppressing the height of the entire apparatus. Objective.

In order to solve the above problems, an image forming apparatus according to the present invention provides:
A main body housing in which an image forming unit for forming an image on recording paper is housed
An image reading unit disposed above the main body housing and reading image data of a document;
An image forming apparatus provided between the main body housing and the image reading unit, wherein the recording sheet on which the image is formed is discharged;
The paper discharge unit is open to the side of the apparatus parallel to the discharge direction of the recording paper,
A recording paper receiving portion for receiving the discharged recording paper;
A recess formed on the downstream side of the discharge direction of the recording paper receiving portion and on the side surface of the apparatus;
A first convex portion formed on the upstream side of the discharge direction of the recording paper receiving portion and on the side surface of the apparatus so as to be along the side edge of the recording paper in a state of receiving the recording paper; It is characterized by providing.

According to such a configuration, the paper discharge unit is opened on the side surface of the apparatus parallel to the recording paper discharge direction, and the concave portion is formed on the side surface of the recording paper receiving unit of the paper discharge unit. Even if the height of the paper discharge unit is lowered, it is easy to reach out to the paper discharge unit from the opened side surface of the apparatus and take out the discharged recording paper. Further, since the first convex portion is formed on the side surface of the recording paper receiving portion along the side end portion of the recording paper in the state where the recording paper is received, By restricting the end portion, the recording paper can be prevented from sliding off from the recording paper receiving portion. As a result, it is possible to provide an image reading apparatus in which the recording paper can be easily taken out from the paper discharge unit and the recording paper does not slide down while suppressing the height of the entire apparatus.

In the image forming apparatus of the present invention, it is preferable that a second convex portion extending along the discharge direction is formed at a central portion of the recording paper receiving portion.

According to such a configuration, the discharged recording paper is received by the recording paper receiving portion, but since the second convex portion is formed at the central portion of the recording paper receiving portion, the recording paper is placed in the recording paper receiving portion. It is possible to prevent the sheet from coming into close contact and becoming difficult to take out from the paper discharge unit.

In the image forming apparatus according to the aspect of the invention, it is preferable that the first convex portion has a regulation surface that regulates a side end portion of the recording paper, and the regulation surface is inclined to the opposite side of the recording paper.

According to such a configuration, since the regulation surface that regulates the side edge of the recording paper is inclined to the opposite side of the recording paper, when the recording paper is taken out from the side of the apparatus, the side edge of the recording paper is It is possible to prevent the first convex portion from being caught by the restriction surface and becoming difficult to take out.

In the image forming apparatus according to the aspect of the invention, it is preferable that the length of the first convex portion in the discharge direction is shorter than half of the length in the discharge direction of the recording paper.

According to such a configuration, it is possible to prevent the length of the first convex portion in the discharge direction from being too long and the side end portion of the recording paper from being caught by the first convex portion and being difficult to take out.

1 is a schematic cross-sectional view illustrating an internal configuration of an image forming apparatus according to an embodiment of the present invention. FIG. 3 is a perspective view of a paper discharge tray as viewed from obliquely above. FIG. 6 is a perspective view showing a state in which recording paper is discharged to a paper discharge tray. It is sectional drawing which shows the cross-sectional shape of the 1st convex part which concerns on embodiment of this invention.

FIG. 1 is a cross-sectional view showing an internal configuration of an image forming apparatus 1 according to an embodiment of the present invention. The image forming apparatus 1 is a copying machine that forms an image on a recording sheet based on image data of a document read by an image reading unit 20, and its outer shape is defined by a main body housing 2 having a substantially rectangular parallelepiped shape. In the main body housing 2, a paper feeding unit 3, an image forming unit 4, a fixing unit 5 and the like are accommodated.

The paper feed unit 3 includes a recording paper cassette 31 for storing recording paper. The recording paper can be stored in a stacked state on a support plate 32 provided in the recording paper cassette 31. It is like that. The support plate 32 is rotatable around a support shaft 33 provided at one end thereof, and the end on the side opposite to the support shaft 33 is biased upward, whereby the uppermost recording is performed. The paper is pressed against the paper feed roller 34. In this state, the paper feeding roller 34 is driven to rotate, whereby the recording paper stored in the recording paper cassette 31 is separated by the paper feeding roller 34 and a separation pad (not shown) and formed inside the main body housing 2. One by one is sent out to the conveying path 6.

The recording paper fed from the recording paper cassette 31 to the conveyance path 6 is conveyed to the image forming unit 4 side through the conveyance path 6. Then, the recording paper is temporarily stopped by the registration roller 7 immediately before the image forming unit 4, and sent to the image forming unit 4 in accordance with the timing at which the image forming unit 4 forms an image on the recording paper.

The image forming unit 4 includes a photosensitive drum 41, a charger 42, an exposure unit 43, a developing unit 44, a transfer unit 45, and a cleaning device 46, and forms an image on recording paper by an electrophotographic method. A photoconductor is formed on the surface of the cylindrical photoconductor drum 41, and the surface of the photoconductor drum 41 that is rotationally driven is uniformly charged by the charger 42 during image formation. The exposure unit 43 outputs light from an LED (Light-Emitting Diode) based on the image data of the document read by the document reading unit 20. An electrostatic latent image is formed on the surface of the photosensitive drum 41 uniformly charged by the charger 42 by being exposed to light output from the exposure unit 43.

On the surface of the photosensitive drum 41 on which the electrostatic latent image is formed, a toner image (developer) supplied from the developing device 44 adheres to form a toner image, and the toner image is transferred using the transfer device 45. Transferred to recording paper. The recording paper on which the toner image is transferred by the transfer unit 45 is conveyed to the fixing unit 5 through the conveyance path 6.

The fixing unit 5 includes a heating roller 18 that is heated to a predetermined temperature, and a pressure roller 19 that contacts the heating roller 18 with a predetermined pressure. The recording paper on which the toner image has been transferred passes between the heating roller 18 and the pressure roller 19 to fix the toner, and then is discharged through the paper discharge roller 8 and formed on the upper surface of the main body housing 2. The paper is discharged onto a paper tray 9 (corresponding to a paper discharge unit).

The toner remaining on the surface of the photosensitive drum 41 after the transfer is removed by the cleaning device 46. The cleaning device 46 includes a blade 47 for scraping toner from the surface of the photosensitive drum 41 and a discharge screw for discharging toner scraped by the blade 47 (hereinafter referred to as “waste toner”). 48.

The discharge screw 48 is configured by forming spiral blades on the outer peripheral surface of a shaft extending in parallel to the photosensitive drum 41. Therefore, by rotating the discharge screw 48, the waste toner can be conveyed and discharged in the axial direction by the spiral blade provided in the discharge screw 48.

FIG. 2 is a perspective view of the paper discharge tray 9 as viewed obliquely from above. FIG. 3 is a perspective view showing a state in which the recording paper P is discharged to the paper discharge tray 9. For convenience of explanation, the image reading unit 20 disposed above the paper discharge tray 9 is not shown. In FIG. 3, only one recording sheet P is shown, but a plurality of recording sheets P may naturally be stacked on the discharge tray 9.

The recording paper P is discharged through a paper discharge roller 8 in a discharge direction A indicated by an arrow in the drawing. As shown in the figure, the paper discharge tray 9 is open to the side surface 21 of the apparatus parallel to the discharge direction A. As a result, the operator can reach the paper discharge tray 9 from the side surface 21 of the apparatus and take out the recording paper P discharged to the paper discharge tray 9.

In the present embodiment, the sheet discharge tray 9 is also opened to the apparatus side surface 22 facing the downstream side in the discharge direction A. However, the apparatus side surface 22 blocks a part of the paper discharge tray 9, and the recording paper P discharged from the paper discharge roller 8 does not jump out in the discharge direction A and fall from the paper discharge tray 9.

The paper discharge tray 9 includes a recording paper receiving portion 91 that receives the entire discharged recording paper P from below. The size of the recording paper receiving portion 91 is appropriately set according to the size of the recording paper P to be discharged. In the central portion of the recording paper receiving portion 91, a recording paper support portion 92 is formed along the discharge direction A, and is slightly higher than both sides of the recording paper support portion 92. The recording paper support portion 92 has a trapezoidal shape that becomes narrower in the discharge direction A when viewed from above. Since the recording paper support unit 92 supports the recording paper P from below, it is possible to prevent the recording paper receiving unit 91 and the recording paper P from coming into close contact with each other.

A plurality of ribs 93 and second convex portions 94 are formed along the discharge direction A on the upper surface of the recording paper support portion 92. The second convex portion 94 is formed from the vicinity of the paper discharge roller 8 along the discharge direction A to the vicinity beyond the center of the recording paper support portion 92. Further, the height of the second convex portion 94 gradually increases in the discharge direction A. Since the second convex portion 94 supports the recording paper P from below, it is possible to prevent the upper surface of the recording paper support portion 92 and the recording paper P from coming into close contact with each other.

The rib 93 is formed over almost the entire surface of the upper surface of the recording paper support portion 92 except for the second convex portion 94. Similarly to the second convex portion 94, the rib 93 supports the recording paper P from below, so that the upper surface of the recording paper support portion 92 and the recording paper P can be prevented from coming into close contact with each other.

In addition, a plurality of slits 95 are provided at the downstream end of the recording paper support portion 92 so that the heated air inside the main body housing 2 can be discharged to the outside.

The recording paper receiving portion 91 is provided with a concave portion 96 on the downstream side in the discharge direction A and on the side surface 21 side of the apparatus. The concave portion 96 has a shape that falls in a gentle curve toward the discharge direction A. However, the concave portion 96 is not limited to the shape shown in the figure, and may be provided so as to be lower than other portions of the recording paper receiving portion 91. Since the concave portion 96 is provided in the recording paper receiving portion 91, the corner portion of the recording paper P is slightly lowered into the concave portion 96 as shown in FIG. Thus, even when a plurality of recording papers P are stacked on the recording paper receiving portion 91, the operator can easily grasp the end of the recording paper P from above and below.

The recording paper receiving portion 91 is provided with a first convex portion 97 on the upstream side in the discharge direction A and on the apparatus side surface 21 side, that is, on the same side as the concave portion 96. As shown in FIG. 3, the first convex portion 97 is formed in the discharge direction A along the side end portion of the recording paper P in a state where the recording paper P is received. The surface of the first convex portion 97 that faces the recording paper P is a regulating surface 97a that is inclined to the opposite side of the recording paper P, and the side edge of the discharged recording paper P can be regulated. Further, the first convex portion 97 is inclined on the downstream side in the discharge direction A, and is not easily caught when the recording paper P is taken out.

The length of the first convex portion 97 in the discharge direction A is preferably shorter than half the length of the recording paper P in the discharge direction A. The length of the first convex portion 97 in the discharge direction A is, for example, 30 to 100 mm. If the first convex portion 97 is too short, the function of regulating the side edge of the recording paper P is insufficient. Conversely, if the first convex portion 97 is too long, the recording paper P is caught and difficult to take out. Further, the height of the first convex portion 97 is, for example, 15 mm in consideration of a case where 100 or more recording sheets P are stacked. If the first convex portion 97 is too low, the function of regulating the side edge of the recording paper P is insufficient. Conversely, if the first convex portion 97 is too high, the recording paper P is caught and difficult to take out.

FIG. 4 is a cross-sectional view showing a cross-sectional shape of the first convex portion 97 on a plane perpendicular to the discharge direction A. In the above embodiment, the cross-sectional shape of the first convex portion 97 is a right triangle as shown in FIG. That is, the regulating surface 97a facing the recording paper P is formed by an inclined surface having a constant inclination. However, the cross-sectional shape of the first convex portion 97 is not limited to such a shape, and may be, for example, a shape as shown in FIG. The cross-sectional shape of the first convex portion 97 shown in FIG. 4B is a circular arc shape in which the regulation surface 97a facing the recording paper P is gradually inclined in the direction of the recording paper P.
