Claims (10)
- 光源と、
前記光源からの入射光の透過率を調節して映像を形成するディスプレイパネルと、
映像信号によって前記ディスプレイパネルの変調を制御し、前記ディスプレイパネルをスキャニングするディスプレイパネル・コントローラと、
電気的制御によって透光率を調節し、前記ディスプレイパネルから入射された映像ビームを視域分離するためのものであり、奇数カラムセルと偶数カラムセルとが横方向に交互に配列され、前記奇数カラムセルと偶数カラムセルとがそれぞれ光を透過させるスリットと、光を遮断するマスクとの間で交互にスイッチングされるスイッチングバリアと、
前記ディスプレイパネルのスキャニングに同期され、前記スリットとマスクとのバリアモードが変換されるように制御するスイッチングバリア・コントローラとを備えることを特徴とする立体映像ディスプレイ装置。 - 前記ディスプレイパネルがその縦方向にスキャニングされることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の立体映像ディスプレイ装置。
- 前記スイッチングバリアが前記奇数カラムセルに連結された第1電極と、前記偶数カラムセルに連結された第2電極と、前記スイッチングバリアの縦方向に区画された複数の領域nにそれぞれ連結された共通電極とを備えることを特徴とする請求項2に記載の立体映像ディスプレイ装置。
- 前記複数の領域nは、ディスプレイパネルの縦方向解像度の半分と同じであるか、あるいはそれよりも小さいことを特徴とする請求項3に記載の立体映像ディスプレイ装置。
- 前記ディスプレイパネルがその横方向にスキャニングされることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の立体映像ディスプレイ装置。
- 前記スイッチングバリアが前記奇数カラムセルに連結された第1電極と、前記偶数カラムセルに連結された第2電極と、前記スイッチングバリアの横方向に区画された複数の領域mから前記スイッチングバリア・コントローラにそれぞれ連結され、それぞれ独立して電圧が印加される共通電極とを備えることを特徴とする請求項5に記載の立体映像ディスプレイ装置。
- 前記複数の領域mは、ディスプレイパネルの横方向解像度の半分と同じであるか、あるいはそれよりも小さいことを特徴とする請求項6に記載の立体映像ディスプレイ装置。
- 前記スイッチングバリアが前記奇数カラムセル及び前記偶数カラムセルそれぞれから前記スイッチングバリア・コントローラに連結され、それぞれ独立して電圧が印加される電極と、前記スイッチングバリアの全体領域から前記スイッチングバリア・コントローラに連結された共通電極とを備え、前記各電極に独立して電圧を印加することによって、スリットとマスクとのモード変換がスイッチングバリアの横方向になされることを特徴とする請求項5に記載の立体映像ディスプレイ装置。
- 前記ディスプレイパネルは、液晶ディスプレイであることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の立体映像ディスプレイ装置。
- 前記スイッチングバリアは、空間光変調器からなることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の立体映像ディスプレイ装置。
