Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to the production of radiation image conversion panels such as imaging plates and scintillator panels, and more specifically, to stably produce a radiation image conversion panel that eliminates cracks and peeling of the phosphor layer and has good sensitivity. The present invention relates to a method for manufacturing a radiation image conversion panel.
There are known phosphors that exhibit a response according to the received radiation energy when irradiated with radiation (X-rays, α-rays, β-rays, γ-rays, electron beams, ultraviolet rays, etc.). It is used for purposes.
As an example, when irradiated with radiation, a part of this radiation energy is accumulated, and when irradiated with excitation light such as visible light after that, stimulated light emission corresponding to the accumulated energy is exhibited. It is called a phosphor (accumulating phosphor) and is used for various applications such as medical applications.
A radiation image information recording / reproducing system using a radiation image conversion panel (so-called IP (Imaging Plate)) having the photostimulable phosphor layer is known. For example, an FCR (Fuji Computed Radiography) manufactured by Fujifilm Corporation is known. ) Etc.
In this system, a radiation image of a subject is recorded on a conversion panel (stimulable phosphor layer) by irradiating X-rays or the like through a subject such as a human body (taking a radiation image). After recording, the conversion panel is scanned two-dimensionally with excitation light to generate stimulated emission, and this stimulated emission light is photoelectrically read to obtain an image signal, and an image reproduced based on this image signal is A radiation image of the subject is output to a display device such as a CRT or a recording material such as a photographic photosensitive material.
In addition, as in the case of IP, there is also known a phosphor that emits (fluoresces) visible light by incident radiation, instead of accumulating and recording radiation images and obtaining a radiation image by stimulating light emitted by excitation light irradiation. ing. Radiation image conversion panels (so-called scintillator panels) having a phosphor layer made of this phosphor are also used for various applications such as medical applications.
In a system using a scintillator panel, radiation that has passed through the subject is incident on the scintillator panel to convert the radiation carrying the subject image into visible light, and this visible light is converted into electric charges by a photoelectric conversion element such as a photodiode. Then, this electric charge is sequentially read out by a TFT (Thin Film Transistor) or the like to obtain an electric signal, and this electric signal is output as a radiographic image of the subject as before.
Conventionally, a phosphor layer in a radiation image conversion panel (hereinafter referred to as a conversion panel) such as an IP or a scintillator panel is prepared by adjusting a paint in which phosphor particles and a binder (binder) are dispersed in a solvent, It is formed by applying and curing this paint on a panel-like support made of glass or resin (application-type phosphor layer).
On the other hand, a conversion panel in which a phosphor layer is formed (film formation) by a vapor deposition method (vacuum formation method) such as vacuum evaporation or sputtering is also known. Phosphor layers by vapor deposition are formed in a vacuum, so there are few impurities, and since there are almost no components such as binders other than stimulable phosphors, there is little variation in performance and luminous efficiency. Has excellent properties of being very good.
In the formation of the phosphor layer by the vapor deposition method, various ideas have been made to improve the characteristics of the conversion panel.
The temperature control of the substrate (phosphor layer to be formed) during formation is one of them.
For example, Patent Document 1 discloses that in the production of a conversion panel in which a photostimulable phosphor layer is formed by vacuum deposition, the temperature of the substrate is lowered with time during the formation. The difference between the substrate temperature at 100 ° C. and the substrate temperature at the end of vapor deposition is preferably 100 ° C. or higher, and particularly preferably 150 ° C. or higher.
Since the phosphor layer formed by the vapor deposition method has a columnar crystal structure, it is possible to obtain a radiographic image with better sharpness than a coating-type phosphor layer. Patent Document 1 discloses that by controlling the temperature of the substrate in this way, it is possible to suppress the increase in the diameter of the columnar crystals and obtain a radiographic image with good image graininess and sharpness. Yes.
Further, Patent Document 2 discloses that the rear surface side of the substrate is divided into a plurality of sections, the heating conditions can be controlled independently, and each region is heated to a predetermined temperature. The substrate temperature is preferably controlled to a constant temperature in the range of 150 to 350 ° C.
Patent Document 2 has such a configuration, and in particular, by controlling the substrate in the temperature range, the temperature difference between the central portion and the peripheral portion of the substrate during formation is eliminated, and the entire region of the substrate is granular. It is disclosed that a conversion panel having excellent properties and sharpness and good sensitivity can be obtained.
As disclosed in the above-mentioned patent document, in the conversion panel manufacturing method in which the phosphor layer is formed by the vapor deposition method, the sensitivity of the conversion panel is increased by controlling the temperature of the substrate during the formation of the phosphor layer. In addition, the sharpness and graininess of the radiation image can be improved.
However, the conventional method for controlling the substrate temperature may not provide a conversion panel having sufficient sensitivity, and may cause peeling of the phosphor layer or cracking (cracking) in the phosphor layer. Yes.
An object of the present invention is to solve the above-mentioned problems of the prior art, and in the production of a radiation image conversion panel for forming a phosphor layer by a vapor deposition method, at the start and end of formation of the phosphor layer. Radiation images that enable stable production of radiation image conversion panels that have good sensitivity and are free from cracks in the phosphor layer by appropriately controlling the substrate temperature. It is in providing the manufacturing method of a conversion panel.
In order to achieve the above object, a method of manufacturing a radiation image conversion panel according to the present invention is a manufacturing method of a radiation image conversion panel in which a phosphor layer is formed by a vapor deposition method. Provided is a method for producing a radiation image conversion panel, characterized in that the temperature is controlled to 152 to 189 ° C., and the temperature of the substrate at the end of formation of the phosphor layer is controlled to 190 to 250 ° C.
In such a method for producing a radiation image conversion panel of the present invention, the phosphor layer is preferably a layer made of a stimulable phosphor, and a matrix layer containing no activator by vapor deposition. Preferably, the phosphor layer is formed on the base layer, and the photostimulable phosphor is preferably a photostimulable phosphor represented by the general formula CsBr: Eu. .
Alternatively, the phosphor layer is preferably made of a phosphor that emits visible light upon incidence of radiation, the matrix of the phosphor is preferably CsI, and the phosphor is The activator preferably contains at least one of Tl, Na, Eu, and Tb.
In the production of a radiation image conversion panel in which a phosphor layer is formed by a vapor deposition method such as vacuum evaporation, the present invention sets the temperature of the substrate at the start and end of formation of the phosphor layer. It controls so that it may become the predetermined temperature which becomes. In other words, during the formation of the phosphor layer, rather than performing control so that the substrate temperature becomes a constant temperature, the substrate temperature is appropriate at the start and end of formation of the phosphor layer, respectively. Control the temperature of the substrate.
By having such a configuration, the present invention can prevent the generation of cracks in the phosphor layer and the peeling of the phosphor layer, and can stably produce a radiation image conversion panel with good sensitivity. It becomes possible.
Hereinafter, a method for producing a radiation image conversion panel of the present invention will be described in detail based on a preferred embodiment shown in the accompanying drawings.
In FIG. 1, the conceptual diagram of an example of the radiation image conversion panel manufactured by the manufacturing method of this invention is shown.
A radiation image conversion panel 10 (hereinafter referred to as a conversion panel 10) shown in FIG. 1 basically includes a

具体的には、パリレンC(ポリモノクロロパラキシリレン)、パリレンD(ポリジクロロパラキシリレン)、パリレンHT(ポリテトラフルオロパラキシリレン)、および、パリレンN(ポリパラキシリレン)等からなる層が例示される。

The polyparaxylylene layer is a layer (isolation layer) for preventing the hygroscopic phosphor from corroding the metal, and is a film formed by polymerizing paraxylylene or a paraxylylene derivative. Specifically, a layer composed of parylene C (polymonochloroparaxylylene), parylene D (polydichloroparaxylylene), parylene HT (polytetrafluoroparaxylylene), parylene N (polyparaxylylene), and the like.

In the manufacturing method of the present invention, the method for forming the
Further, when the
By performing binary vacuum vapor deposition, the
Furthermore, there are no particular limitations on the film formation conditions when performing vacuum vapor deposition, as will be described later, the substrate temperature at the start of phosphor layer formation (at the start of vapor deposition), and the end of phosphor layer formation (deposition complete) Other than the substrate temperature at the time, the film forming conditions corresponding to the phosphor layer to be formed may be set as appropriate.
Here, in the present invention, as a method for forming the

In the present invention, the
The manufacturing method of the
As disclosed in Patent Document 1 and Patent Document 2, in the manufacture of a conversion panel in which a phosphor layer is formed by a vapor deposition method (radiation image), in order to obtain a conversion panel having good characteristics, the phosphor Substrate temperature control is performed during layer formation.
However, conventional substrate temperature control such as constant temperature or simple gradual decrease as shown in these patent documents, etc., may cause defects such as cracks in the phosphor layer, peeling of the phosphor layer, Furthermore, sufficient sensitivity may not be obtained.
On the other hand, according to the study by the present inventors, in the formation of the phosphor layer by the vapor deposition method, an appropriate substrate 12 (that is, fluorescence) is used at both the start and end of the formation of the phosphor layer. There is a temperature range of the body layer 18), and the temperature of the substrate is such that it is 152 to 189 ° C. at the start and 190 to 250 ° C. at the end, corresponding to the start and end of formation of the phosphor layer, respectively. Take control. Thereby, the crack generation | occurrence | production and peeling of a fluorescent substance layer can be prevented suitably, and also the

Here, in the
In the present invention, the temperature of the
There is no particular limitation on the method for controlling the substrate temperature at the start and end of the formation of the phosphor layer. For example, a substrate holder (substrate holding means) for holding a substrate is provided with substrate temperature control means such as heating means, cooling means, heating / cooling means, etc., and by this temperature control means, at the start of phosphor layer formation and Various known temperature control methods, such as a method of controlling the substrate temperature at the end of formation, a method of heating the

Alternatively, the temperature and driving of the heater for heating the substrate may be controlled according to the temperature of the substrate, or a cooling means may be used.

[sensitivity]
The conversion panel was housed in a light-shielding cassette and irradiated with about 1 mR of X-rays having a tube voltage of 80 kVp.
After X-ray irradiation, the conversion panel was taken out from the cassette in a dark room, and the phosphor layer was irradiated with semiconductor laser light (wavelength 660 nm: 10 mW) as excitation light, and the stimulated emission light emitted from the phosphor layer was measured. In addition, the measurement of stimulated emission light was performed using a photomultiplier tube after separating the excitation light and the stimulated emission light through an excitation light cut filter (B410 manufactured by HOYA Co., Ltd.).
Evaluation is based on Comparative Example 2,
○ with a sensitivity (stimulated luminescence) exceeding Comparative Example 2;
A relative sensitivity of 90% to 100% with respect to Comparative Example 2;
A sample having a relative sensitivity of less than 90% with respect to Comparative Example 2 was evaluated as x;
In addition, in this example, it can be said that a thing whose relative sensitivity with respect to the comparative example 2 is 90% or more is a practical range.
The results are also shown in the table below.
