Abstract

【解決手段】
シートガラス材料またはシート熱可塑性材料を成形するための処理および装置は、熱可塑性物質の軟化温度に近い温度で、シートとマンドレルとの間に空気などの流れる流体の層からの力を用いる。形状は、冷却によって保持される。空気軸受マンドレルの形状および挟まれる流体の圧力分散が、最終的な形状に寄与する。処理は、1つの表面または2つの表面で行われ、空気層からの力がシートの1つの表面または2つの表面にかかるようになっている。二面処理は、溶融またはスロットドローなどの連続製造処理中に施される場合に、シート平面度を改善する。シートとマンドレルとの間の間隙サイズは、間隙における圧力分布を決定し、また、最終的なシート形状も決定する。一般に、より小さな間隙は、流体によって印加されるより大きな粘性力をもたらす。圧力分布は、マンドレルの形状、マンドレルとシートとの間の流体間隙のサイズおよび流体供給圧力に左右される。

Claims (32)
- 軟化点および少なくとも1つの表面を有する特定の形状に熱可塑性材料加工物を成形するための方法であって、
前記少なくとも1つの表面が成形された表面を有するマンドレルから離隔されているように前記熱可塑性材料の加工物を支持することと、
前記加工物表面にわたって流体を流し、前記加工物表面にわたって圧力分布を確立することと、
前記軟化点に近い温度まで前記加工物を加熱することと、
前記加工物が前記特定の形状に適合するまで待機することと、
前記軟化点未満まで前記加工物を冷却して、その結果、前記特定の形状を保持することと、
を備える方法。 - 前記特定の形状は、前記成形されたマンドレル表面に適合する、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記圧力分布は、前記マンドレルから離隔された前記加工物表面を維持するように構成されている、請求項1に記載の方法。

- 各締付具は、前記加工物の2つの対向する表面に押し付けられる耐熱スペーサ対を備える、請求項21に記載の装置。
