Abstract
【解決手段】多数の画素を含む画素部と、画素部の温度を測定する温度センサと、該温度情報をデジタル値に変換する第1ADCと、前記デジタル値に対応する制御信号を出力する制御部と、各画素に含まれる前記劣化程度を抽出するセンシング部と、抽出された劣化程度及び前記制御信号を受けて温度により変わる劣化情報に対応するデジタル値を生成する第2ADCと、第2ADCのデジタル値を用いて前記劣化程度の変更に関係なく均一輝度の映像を表示すべく入力データを校正データに変換する変換部と、校正データを受けて画素に供給されるデータ信号を生成するデータ駆動部とを備える。

Claims (10)
- データ線、走査線、発光制御線の交差部毎に位置する多数の画素を含む画素部と、
前記画素部の温度を測定するために備えられる温度センサと、
前記温度センサで測定された温度情報をデジタル値に変換する第1アナログデジタル変換器(第1ADC)と、
前記第1ADCから出力されるデジタル値の入力を受けてそれに対応する制御信号を出力する制御部と、
前記画素のそれぞれに含まれる有機発光ダイオードの劣化程度を抽出するためのセンシング部と、
前記センシング部から抽出された有機発光ダイオードの劣化情報及び前記制御部から出力される制御信号の入力を受けて温度に応じて可変する有機発光ダイオードの劣化情報に対応するデジタル値を生成する第2アナログデジタル変換器(第2ADC)と、
前記第2ADCから出力されるデジタル値を用いて温度に応じた有機発光ダイオードの劣化程度の変更に関係なく、均一な輝度の映像を表示できるように、入力データDataを校正データData’に変換する変換部と、
前記変換部から出力される校正データData’の入力を受けて前記画素に供給されるデータ信号を生成するデータ駆動部と
を備えることを特徴とする有機電界発光表示装置。 - 前記センシング部はそれぞれのチャネル毎に位置するセンシング回路を備え、
前記センシング回路は、
前記画素内の有機発光ダイオードに所定の電流を供給するための電流ソース部と、
前記電流ソース部及び各チャネルに該当するデータ線の間に備えられるスイッチング素子と
を有することを特徴とする請求項1に記載の有機電界発光表示装置。 - 前記所定の電流は、画素が最大輝度で発光する際に有機発光ダイオードOLEDに流さなければならない電流値Imaxであることを特徴とする請求項2に記載の有機電界発光表示装置。
- 前記第2ADCは、
j*kビットの抵抗列と、
前記制御部から提供される制御信号により前記抵抗列のうちの一部の領域を選択して前記温度センサで測定された温度に対応する所定の基準電圧Vref情報を提供するj*kビットのスイッチアレイと、
前記スイッチアレイにより出力される基準電圧情報と前記センシング部の各チャネルに備えられたセンシング回路から出力される有機発光ダイオードの劣化情報即ち、有機発光ダイオードの電圧を入力されてその大きさを比較して所定のデジタルビット値を出力する比較器と、
前記比較器から出力されたビット値が順次格納されるjビットのレジスタと
を備えることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の有機電界発光表示装置。 - 前記jは前記有機発光ダイオードの劣化情報が最終的に変換されるデジタルビット数を意味し、前記kは前記測定温度に応じて選択される互いに異なる基準の数を意味することを特徴とする請求項4に記載の有機電界発光表示装置。
- 前記変換部は、
前記第2ADCから出力される信号によりアドレシングされて特定の校正値を生成するルックアップテーブル(LUT)と、
前記ルックアップテーブルで生成された校正値が格納されるフレームメモリとを含んで構成されることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の有機電界発光表示装置。 - 画素を含む画素部の温度が測定される段階と、
前記測定された温度情報がデジタル値に変換される段階と、
前記変換されたデジタル値に対応する制御信号が出力される段階と、
前記画素のそれぞれに含まれる有機発光ダイオードの劣化情報が抽出される段階と、
前記制御信号及び前記抽出された有機発光ダイオードの劣化情報の入力を受けて温度に応じて可変する有機発光ダイオードの劣化情報に対応するデジタル値が生成される段階と、
前記生成されたデジタル値を用いて温度に応じた有機発光ダイオードの劣化程度の変更に関係なく、均一な輝度の映像を表示できるように、入力データDataを校正データData’に変換する段階と、
前記校正データData’の入力を受けて前記画素に供給されるデータ信号が生成される段階と
を含むことを特徴とする有機電界発光表示装置の駆動方法。 - 前記画素のそれぞれに含まれる有機発光ダイオードの劣化情報が抽出される段階は、
前記画素のそれぞれに含まれる有機発光ダイオードに第1電流を供給する段階と、
前記第1電流の印加により前記有機発光ダイオードで発生する第1電圧を測定する段階と
を含むことを特徴とする請求項7に記載の有機電界発光表示装置の駆動方法。 - 前記制御信号及び前記抽出された有機発光ダイオードの劣化情報の入力を受けて温度に応じて可変する有機発光ダイオードの劣化情報に対応するデジタル値が生成される段階は、
前記制御信号によりj*kビットの抵抗列のうちの一部の領域を選択して測定された温度に対応する所定の基準電圧Vref情報を提供する段階と、
前記基準電圧情報及び前記有機発光ダイオードの劣化情報を入力されてその大きさを比較して所定のデジタルビット値を出力する段階と、
前記出力されたビット値が順次格納されて前記温度に応じて可変する有機発光ダイオードの劣化情報に対応するjビットのデジタル値が生成される段階と
を含むことを特徴とする請求項7に記載の有機電界発光表示装置の駆動方法。 - 前記jは前記有機発光ダイオードの劣化情報が最終的に変換されるデジタルビット数を意味し、前記kは前記測定温度に応じて選択される互いに異なる基準の数を意味することを特徴とする請求項9に記載の有機電界発光表示装置の駆動方法。
