Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a hydrogen generator including a reformer that generates a hydrogen-containing gas and a burner for heating the reformer, and a fuel cell system including the hydrogen generator.
Conventionally, a fuel cell system capable of small-scale high-efficiency power generation can easily realize a high energy utilization efficiency because it is easy to construct a system for using thermal energy generated during power generation operation. Is being developed as a distributed power generation system.
In a fuel cell system, during a power generation operation, a hydrogen-containing gas containing hydrogen and an oxygen-containing gas containing oxygen are contained in a fuel cell stack (hereinafter simply referred to as “fuel cell”) disposed as a main body of the power generation unit. Each supplied. Then, in the fuel cell, hydrogen contained in the supplied hydrogen-containing gas and oxygen contained in the oxygen-containing gas are used, and a predetermined electrochemical reaction proceeds. As the predetermined electrochemical reaction proceeds, chemical energy of hydrogen and oxygen is directly converted into electrical energy in the fuel cell. As a result, the fuel cell system outputs power toward the load.
Now, the means for supplying the hydrogen-containing gas necessary for the power generation operation of the fuel cell system is not usually provided as an infrastructure. Therefore, in the conventional fuel cell system, steam reforming is performed at a temperature of 600 ° C. to 700 ° C. using a source gas such as city gas or LPG obtained from an existing fossil raw material infrastructure and steam generated by a water evaporator. In many cases, a reformer that advances the reaction to generate a hydrogen-containing gas is disposed together with the fuel cell. On the other hand, the hydrogen-containing gas obtained by the steam reforming reaction usually contains a large amount of carbon monoxide and carbon dioxide derived from the raw material gas. Therefore, in the conventional fuel cell system, in order to reduce the concentration of carbon monoxide contained in the hydrogen-containing gas generated by the reformer, the temperature of the hydrogen-containing gas is lowered and the temperature is 200 ° C. to 350 ° C. A converter that reduces the concentration of carbon monoxide by advancing the water gas shift reaction, and a selective oxidizer that further reduces the concentration of carbon monoxide by advancing the selective oxidation reaction at a temperature of 100 ° C. to 150 ° C. In many cases, the fuel cell and the reformer are disposed. Here, in the conventional fuel cell system, the hydrogen generator is constituted by these reformer, transformer, and selective oxidizer. Each of these reformer, shifter and selective oxidizer is provided with a catalyst suitable for each chemical reaction for proceeding with each of the steam reforming reaction, the water gas shift reaction and the selective oxidation reaction. ing. For example, a Ru catalyst or a Ni catalyst is disposed in the reformer. The transformer is provided with a Cu-Zn catalyst or a noble metal catalyst. The selective oxidizer is provided with a Ru catalyst or the like.
By the way, in the hydrogen generator having the above-described configuration, it is generally necessary to maintain the temperature of each reactor at an optimum temperature in order to appropriately advance the chemical reaction in each reactor. Further, in the hydrogen generator having the above-described configuration, it is an important issue to effectively use the thermal energy necessary for maintaining the temperature of each reactor at an optimum temperature.
Therefore, a hydrogen generator burner has been proposed as a heating unit in order to stably burn off off-gas of an unused hydrogen-containing gas during power generation of a fuel cell and effectively use the thermal energy (Patent Document 1). In the hydrogen generator burner of this document, in order to improve combustion stability and suppress the generation of nitrogen oxides, a combustion chamber having a tapered shape that expands toward the flame emission direction, an air ejection hole, and And an upper gas ejection hole disposed substantially opposite to each other. The document proposes a plurality of configurations for increasing the air supply amount in the downstream direction of the combustion chamber. For example, FIG. 8 of the document discloses a configuration in which the interval between the air ejection holes is narrowed toward the downstream direction of the combustion chamber.
In addition, by transferring the heat of combustion of the fuel gas to the fuel gas before combustion, the reforming that keeps the reforming reaction in the reformer constant by preventing fluctuations in the fuel supply conditions due to the occurrence of condensation A burner device has been proposed (Patent Document 2).
In addition, a hydrogen generator burner is proposed that has two combustion sections, a combustion section that combusts the first air-fuel mixture and a combustion section that supplies and burns air after the first air-fuel mixture is combusted. (For example, refer to Patent Document 3).
In addition, each of the reformer, the water evaporator, the transformer, and the selective oxidizer is formed in a concentric cylinder around a heating unit that generates a combustion gas by burning a mixture of combustion fuel and combustion air. There has been proposed a hydrogen generator that is arranged to reduce the size of the device and reduce the heat dissipation surface (see, for example, Patent Document 4).
In addition, a hydrogen generation apparatus has been proposed in which cylindrical water evaporators and reformers are arranged side by side in the same axial direction to reduce the size of the apparatus and reduce the heat dissipation surface (see, for example, Patent Document 5).
Furthermore, in order to effectively use the thermal energy required when maintaining the temperature of each reactor at an optimum temperature, a configuration is adopted in which the heat insulation outside the hydrogen generator is enhanced to reduce heat dissipation.
However, in the conventional configuration, further improvement in energy efficiency is desired, and there is a problem that the suppression of nitrogen oxides is not always sufficient.
The present invention has been made to solve the above-described problems, and provides a hydrogen generator that reduces nitrogen oxides in combustion exhaust gas and has improved thermal efficiency, and a fuel cell system including the hydrogen generator. It is an object.
The inventor has intensively studied to solve the above problems. As a result, I noticed the following points.
In the configuration in which heat dissipation from the hydrogen generator is reduced, the inside of the device becomes high temperature. In particular, in the hydrogen generating device in which the reforming unit is arranged concentrically around the heating unit, the device is downsized and the heat radiation surface is reduced, the heating unit is located in the central part where heat is easily accumulated. The combustion chamber tends to be hot. The generation of nitrogen oxides depends on the temperature, and the generation amount increases as the temperature rises. For this reason, when a combustion chamber becomes high temperature, the nitrogen oxide density | concentration in combustion exhaust gas will also increase.
Further, since off gas cannot be used when the hydrogen generator is started, it is necessary to directly burn a source gas such as city gas or LPG in the heating unit. When a hydrocarbon-based gas is burned, the generation of nitrogen oxides further increases.
As described above, the generation of nitrogen oxides is affected by the temperature of the combustion chamber in the heating unit. Therefore, to reduce the nitrogen oxide concentration, it is effective to lower the temperature of the combustion chamber. In order to lower the temperature of the combustion chamber, a water trap section for storing the reforming water supplied from the outside inside the hydrogen generator is provided, and this water trap section is disposed in the vicinity of the combustion chamber. .
Further, in the cylindrical combustion gas flow path, the combustion exhaust gas at the peripheral portion is easily cooled (heat is easily transmitted to the reforming portion disposed outside the flow path), while the heat of the combustion exhaust gas at the center portion is Is difficult to use effectively. Therefore, by relatively increasing the flow rate of the combustion exhaust gas at the peripheral portion and relatively reducing the flow rate of the combustion exhaust gas at the central portion, the heat in the combustion exhaust gas can be efficiently used for heating the reforming portion and the like. When the burner of the heating unit is a diffusion burner and the amount of air jetted into the combustion chamber is relatively large at the peripheral portion and relatively small at the central portion, such a difference in flow rate can be realized. According to this configuration, light combustion occurs in the peripheral portion and rich combustion occurs in the central portion, so that so-called dark combustion is realized, and generation of nitrogen oxides is further suppressed.
By combining the arrangement of the water trap part and the adjustment of the air ejection amount as described above, it is possible to efficiently suppress nitrogen oxides and improve the thermal efficiency.
That is, in order to solve the above-described problems, the hydrogen generator of the present invention includes a reforming raw material supply port for taking in a raw material containing at least a carbon element and a hydrogen element in the molecule from the outside, and water for taking in water from the outside. A reformer water supply port, a heater including a burner that generates combustion gas, a cylindrical combustion gas passage that surrounds the heater and allows the combustion gas to flow therethrough, and provided outside the combustion gas passage A preheat evaporator that heats the raw material taken in from the reforming raw material supply port and the water taken in from the reforming water supply port by the combustion gas to generate a mixture of the raw material and water vapor, and the preheating evaporator The reforming catalyst is provided at a predetermined distance from the combustion gas flow path and has a reforming catalyst. The reforming catalyst is heated by the combustion gas, and the mixture generated by the preheating evaporator is modified. Pass through the catalyst A reformer that generates a hydrogen-containing gas, and a water trap section that is disposed between the preheat evaporator and the reformer and traps liquid water discharged from the preheat evaporator. The water trap section and the combustion gas flow path, and the reformer and the combustion gas flow path are separated by a single inner wall, and the water trap of the combustion gas flow path The part facing the part is closer to the combustion chamber than the part facing the reformer in the combustion gas flow path, and the burner is for combustion to take in fuel for combustion from the outside A fuel supply port, a combustion air supply port for taking in combustion air from the outside, a combustion chamber, and a fuel injection hole for injecting the combustion fuel taken in from the combustion fuel supply port into the combustion chamber And from the combustion air supply port An air injection hole for injecting the combustion air into the combustion chamber, and the combustion fuel and the combustion air are mixed and burned in the combustion chamber to generate the combustion gas. The fuel injection hole is provided so as to be positioned at the center of the cylindrical combustion gas flow channel when viewed from the main shaft direction of the combustion gas flow channel, and the air injection hole is formed in the main shaft direction. When it sees from, it is provided so that the said fuel ejection hole may be surrounded, and it is comprised so that the amount of ejections of air may become so large that it distances from the said main axis | shaft.
In such a configuration, the nitrogen oxide concentration can be reduced by light and dark combustion. In lean combustion, nitrogen oxides are relatively likely to be generated in the light combustion region. The nitrogen oxide concentration can be further effectively reduced by disposing the light combustion region at the peripheral portion and lowering the temperature by the water trap portion. Further, since the diffusion combustion is used, the configuration of the apparatus is simplified. Further, since the flow rate of the combustion gas is increased at the peripheral portion, the thermal efficiency is improved.

As shown in FIG. 1, the
As shown in FIG. 1, in the
In this embodiment, the
Next, the configuration of the preheating evaporation unit and the heat exchange unit in the hydrogen generator according to the first embodiment of the present invention will be described.
In the
As shown in FIG. 1, in the
In the present embodiment, in the
Next, the
The
In the
A
In the
The
The
The diffusion burner is more likely to generate nitrogen oxides than the burner that premixes the combustion fuel and the combustion air, but has a feature that the structure is simple and the manufacturing cost is low. In the present invention, by reducing the temperature of the combustion chamber, generation of nitrogen oxides can be suppressed even when a diffusion burner is used. By combining the present invention and the diffusion burner, a synergistic effect is obtained that the generation of nitrogen oxides can be suppressed while reducing the manufacturing cost. In addition, since it is necessary to suppress generation | occurrence | production of nitrogen oxides other than a diffusion burner, this invention is not limited to the aspect which uses a diffusion burner.

As shown in FIG. 1, the fuel cell system according to this embodiment includes a
Next, the basic operation of the hydrogen generator according to the first embodiment of the present invention will be described with reference to FIG.
When starting the fuel cell system according to the present invention, the water supply device 9 and the raw
In the present embodiment, the source gas and water are supplied from the upper part of the preheating evaporator 6. As a result, the raw material gas and water are heated by the combustion gas in a high temperature state discharged from the heating unit 1 and heat transfer from the
In the present embodiment, the air-fuel mixture composed of water vapor and source gas flows from the preheating evaporator 6 into the reforming
In this embodiment, the
In the present embodiment, the operation of the heating unit 1 is controlled using the temperature detected by the
Thereafter, the traveling direction of the hydrogen-containing gas discharged from the reforming
Air is supplied from the selective
As described above, the
Next, the characteristic configuration and operation of the hydrogen generator according to the first embodiment of the present invention will be described in detail with reference to FIG.
As shown in FIGS. 1 and 2, one characteristic configuration of the present embodiment is that the
The term “near” means the vicinity where the

A cylindrical combustion tube 1b may be provided from the lower end portion of the
Another characteristic configuration of the present embodiment is that, as shown in FIG. 2, in the
In the
For example, when the
At the same time, since a large amount of air is supplied in the outer region (γ region), the amount of combustion exhaust gas existing in the outer region is relatively increased. In the
Since the flue gas at the periphery is easily cooled, it should be discharged to the outside as soon as possible. On the other hand, since the flue gas at the center is difficult to be cooled, heat can be used more effectively when discharged to the outside relatively slowly. Therefore, by increasing the flow velocity from the central portion to the peripheral portion, the heat utilization efficiency is improved as a whole.
In the present embodiment, the
In addition to changing the size of the hole, there are various configurations in which the mixing ratio of the air to the fuel gas (or the amount of ejection to the combustion chamber 117) increases from the central portion toward the outside. Things can be considered.
For example, you may install many air ejection holes 114 toward the outer side from the center of the
A configuration may be adopted in which an obstacle is placed near the
The
In addition, the characteristic operation of the present embodiment is that the reforming reaction in the reforming

In addition, in order to reduce the temperature of the
