Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a piezoelectric microblower that transports a fluid (particularly a compressive fluid) by applying a voltage to a piezoelectric element to drive a diaphragm to resonate.
Piezoelectric micropumps are used as cooling water transportation pumps for small electronic devices such as notebook computers and fuel transportation pumps for fuel cells. On the other hand, a piezoelectric micro blower can be used as a blower blower that replaces a cooling fan such as a CPU, or a blower blower for supplying oxygen necessary for power generation by a fuel cell. Both the piezoelectric micro pump and the piezoelectric micro blower are pumps using a diaphragm that is bent and deformed by applying a voltage to the piezoelectric element, and have an advantage that the structure is simple, the structure can be made thin, and the power consumption is low.
Diaphragm units used in conventional piezoelectric micropumps and piezoelectric microblowers (with a piezoelectric element attached to the diaphragm) have a unimorph structure in which a single plate piezoelectric element is attached to the diaphragm, and a laminated piezoelectric element on the diaphragm. A pasted bimorph structure is typical. In particular, when the diaphragm unit is driven to resonate like a piezoelectric micro blower, a unimorph structure using a single plate piezoelectric element is more advantageous. This is because, in the case of the unimorph structure, the piezoelectric element may be a single plate, so that the piezoelectric element can be configured thinly, wiring is easy, and heat generation due to internal loss of the piezoelectric element can be reduced compared to the bimorph structure.
However, in the case of the unimorph structure, there is a problem in that the neutral surface of the drive exists in the piezoelectric element, which hinders the displacement of the piezoelectric element. The neutral surface here is a surface in which the compressive and tensile stress in the diaphragm unit becomes zero when the entire diaphragm unit is bent and deformed. When the neutral surface is present in the piezoelectric element, a part of the piezoelectric element performs an operation to brake against the bending displacement, so that there is a problem that the displacement of the diaphragm unit is reduced or unnecessary heat is generated. .
In
In
Accordingly, an object of the present invention is to remove a factor that hinders the displacement of a piezoelectric element while maintaining a degree of freedom in designing a piezoelectric element and a diaphragm in a piezoelectric micro blower using a unimorph structure diaphragm unit. It is to provide a micro blower.
In order to achieve the above object, the present invention provides a blower body, a diaphragm having an outer peripheral portion fixed to the blower body, a single-plate piezoelectric element fixed to the surface of the diaphragm, and a blower body and the diaphragm. A piezoelectric microblower that transports fluid by applying a voltage to the piezoelectric element to drive the diaphragm resonantly, and is equivalent to the piezoelectric element between the diaphragm and the piezoelectric element. Provided is a piezoelectric micro blower in which an intermediate plate having a diameter is interposed and fixed, and a neutral surface for driving the entire diaphragm including the piezoelectric element and the intermediate plate is in the intermediate plate.
In the present invention, since the intermediate plate is interposed between the diaphragm and the piezoelectric element, and the neutral surface of the drive is in the intermediate plate, only one stress that extends or contracts over the entire piezoelectric element acts, A neutral surface that brakes the bending displacement can be removed from the piezoelectric element. Therefore, the displacement can be increased and useless heat generation can be suppressed. In addition, since the intermediate plate has a diameter equivalent to that of the piezoelectric element, the following effects are obtained. For example, when the diameter of the intermediate plate is smaller than the diameter of the piezoelectric element, the outer peripheral portion of the piezoelectric element protrudes from the intermediate plate, and this protruding portion not only contributes to bending displacement but also wastes power. . On the other hand, when the diameter of the intermediate plate is larger than the diameter of the piezoelectric element, the same action as the thickening of the diaphragm by the amount of protrusion of the intermediate plate occurs, which becomes a factor that inhibits the displacement of the diaphragm. On the other hand, in the present invention, since the intermediate plate has a diameter equivalent to that of the piezoelectric element, the diaphragm can be efficiently driven without the above-described drawbacks.
When using a diaphragm unit that combines a diaphragm, an intermediate plate, and a piezoelectric element, the resonance frequency of the diaphragm can be adjusted according to the material and thickness of the diaphragm, while the natural frequency of the central part of the diaphragm unit is adjusted. Can be performed not only by the thickness of the piezoelectric element but also by the material and thickness of the intermediate plate. When a diaphragm unit is resonantly driven, there are a primary resonance mode and a tertiary resonance mode. Particularly, when resonance driving is performed in the tertiary resonance mode, adjustment of the resonance frequency of the diaphragm and adjustment of the natural frequency of the central portion of the diaphragm unit are performed. It is important to be able to do it individually. In the present invention, it is possible to arrange the entire piezoelectric element outside the neutral plane while arbitrarily adjusting the resonance frequency of the diaphragm and the natural frequency of the central portion of the diaphragm unit. Therefore, there is no problem that the size is reduced or unnecessary heat generation is increased, and a piezoelectric micro blower having a high degree of freedom in design can be obtained.
The intermediate plate has a diameter equivalent to that of the piezoelectric element, but includes an error in a range of ± 4% or less with respect to the diameter of the piezoelectric element, in addition to the case where it is exactly the same size as the equivalent. If the error is within such a range, there is no difference in performance. The material of the intermediate plate is not particularly limited, but it is preferable to form it with a metal plate with little internal loss. In short, any structure may be used as long as the diaphragm unit (piezoelectric element + intermediate plate + diaphragm) can be driven by resonance by applying a voltage to the piezoelectric element.
In the case of resonance driving, the natural frequency of the central part (diaphragm + intermediate plate + piezoelectric element in the thickness direction) of the diaphragm unit ≧ diaphragm unit peripheral part (diaphragm peripheral part) It is desirable to design so as to satisfy the relationship of natural frequency of By providing the intermediate plate, the natural frequency of the central portion can be increased, thereby increasing the flow rate as a blower.
The thickness of the piezoelectric element is desirably thinner than the total thickness of the diaphragm and the intermediate plate. In the present invention, by providing the intermediate plate, the natural frequency of the central portion of the diaphragm unit is increased, and the neutral surface is intended to enter the intermediate plate. If the relationship of piezoelectric element thickness = (intermediate plate + diaphragm) thickness is established, the neutral surface is present in the vicinity of the piezoelectric element even in the intermediate plate. The neutral surface, which is a factor that hinders the displacement of the piezoelectric element, is preferably separated from the piezoelectric element. Therefore, the diaphragm unit can be vibrated efficiently by making the thickness of the piezoelectric element thinner than the total thickness of the diaphragm and the intermediate plate.
The thickness of the piezoelectric element is preferably thicker than the thickness of the intermediate plate. If the intermediate plate is too thick, it causes the displacement to be inhibited in the same way as the diaphragm is thick. However, by making the thickness of the intermediate plate smaller than the thickness of the piezoelectric element, the displacement inhibiting factor can be reduced. In addition,
It is most desirable to set the relationship of the thickness of the intermediate plate <the thickness of the piezoelectric element <the total thickness of the diaphragm and the intermediate plate.
This diaphragm unit is formed at the first wall portion of the blower body that forms a blower chamber with the diaphragm and the first wall portion facing the center portion of the diaphragm, and communicates the inside and outside of the blower chamber. A first opening, a second wall provided on the opposite side of the blower chamber with the first wall in between, and a second wall spaced from the first wall, and a second wall facing the first opening A second opening formed in a portion of the portion, and formed between the first wall portion and the second wall portion, the outer end portion communicates with the outside, and the inner end portion is the first opening portion and the second opening portion. You may apply to the micro blower provided with the inflow channel connected to the part. In this case, when the diaphragm is displaced in the direction in which the distance between the first opening and the diaphragm increases, the fluid in the inflow passage is sucked into the blower chamber through the first opening, and the first opening and the diaphragm are separated from each other. When the diaphragm is displaced in the direction in which the distance decreases, the fluid in the inflow passage along with the fluid in the blower chamber can be discharged to the outside through the second opening. In the case of the micro blower having this structure, the fluid can be drawn from the inflow passage to the first and second openings not only when the diaphragm is convexly displaced downward but also when the diaphragm is convexly displaced upward. Since the fluid drawn in from the inflow passage and the fluid pushed out from the blower chamber merge and are discharged from the second opening, a discharge flow rate that is greater than the displacement volume of the diaphragm can be obtained. Since the inflow passage is connected to the space between the first and second openings and is not directly connected to the blower chamber, the inflow passage is not affected by the pressure change in the blower chamber. Therefore, even if a check valve is not provided, the high-speed flow flowing through the opening does not flow back into the inflow passage, and the flow rate can be effectively increased.
As described above, according to the present invention, in the piezoelectric microblower using the unimorph structure diaphragm unit, the intermediate plate having the same diameter as the piezoelectric element is interposed and fixed between the diaphragm and the piezoelectric element. In addition, since the neutral surface of the entire diaphragm including the intermediate plate is set to be in the intermediate plate, the factors that obstruct the displacement of the piezoelectric element are removed while ensuring the degree of freedom in designing the piezoelectric element and diaphragm. Therefore, a piezoelectric micro blower with good displacement efficiency can be realized.
Hereinafter, preferred embodiments of the present invention will be described based on examples.

The
As shown in FIG. 5, the

As shown in FIG. 3, the inlet 4 of the piezoelectric micro blower A opens toward the lower side of the
Next, the operation of the piezoelectric microblower A having the above configuration will be described with reference to FIG. FIG. 6 shows an example in which the
When the
Hereinafter, an experimental example of a micro blower having the above-described configuration will be shown. First, an intermediate plate made of a SUS plate having a thickness of 0.15 mm and a diameter of 11 mmΦ is provided on a 42Ni plate having a thickness of 0.08 mm, and a piezoelectric element made of a PZT single plate having a thickness of 0.2 mm and a diameter of 11 mmΦ on the intermediate plate. I prepared a diaphragm with a stick. Subsequently, a separator made of a brass plate, a top plate made of a SUS plate, a flow path forming plate, a blower frame, and a bottom plate were prepared. In addition, the 2nd opening part is provided in the center of the top plate, and the 1st opening part is provided in the center of the separator. A channel space is provided at the center of the channel forming plate. Subsequently, the above constituent members were stacked and bonded in the order of a bottom plate, a diaphragm, a blower frame, a separator, a flow path forming plate, and a top plate to produce a blower body having a length of 20 mm × width 20 mm × height 2.4 mm. . The blower chamber of the blower body is designed to have a height of 0.15 mm, a diameter of 16 mmΦ, and a height of the inflow passage of 0.4 mm.
