Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a steering operation device in which a steering operation is performed using grips provided separately on the left and right.
Conventionally, instead of a circular handle having a general annular rim, a steering operation device using a pair of left and right grips that do not have rims at the top and bottom is known. In such a left and right grip type steering operation device, an airbag device is provided between the left and right grips. Accordingly, when the airbag bag body is deployed, there is no rim portion that supports the upper and lower portions of the back surface of the airbag bag body, so the upper and lower portions of the airbag bag body are loaded with the load of the driver moving forward due to collision inertia. May move forward and fail to exert sufficient occupant restraining force.
However, in the thing of
An object of the present invention is to address the above-described problems, and is to improve occupant protection performance by an airbag in a left-right grip type steering operation device.
In order to achieve the above object, a feature of the present invention is that a steering handle having separate grips disposed on the left and right sides at a neutral steering position with respect to the handle rotation axis, and an air gap between the grips on both sides in a vehicle collision. In a steering operation device including an airbag deploying means for deploying a bag bag body, grip position adjusting means for moving each grip in a vehicle forward direction and a direction approaching the central axis of the handle rotation shaft at the time of a vehicle collision. Be prepared.
In the present invention, grips are provided on both the left and right sides with respect to the handle rotation shaft at the neutral steering position. That is, the left-hand grip and the right-hand grip are separately provided. The driver performs a steering operation by grasping the left and right grips. Airbag deployment means is provided between the left and right grips.
When the vehicle collides, the airbag deployment means is activated to deploy the airbag bag body. At this time, the grip position adjusting means moves each grip in the vehicle forward direction and in the direction approaching the central axis of the handle rotation shaft. By moving the grip position in the vehicle forward direction, the support reaction force of the airbag body can be reduced by the grip. In the case of the left and right grip type handle, unlike the circular handle, the rim is not present on the entire circumference but is missing on the way, so the performance of receiving the airbag bag body changes depending on the steering angle of the handle. Therefore, in the present invention, by moving the grip position in the forward direction of the vehicle, the airbag bag body is received at the center portion of the steering handle and is not received as much as possible by the grip. Accordingly, the restraining performance of the occupant by the airbag bag body can be stabilized. Moreover, it can also suppress that a passenger | crew hits a grip at the time of a vehicle collision.
When the grip is moved in the forward direction of the vehicle in this way, the driver's hand may be pulled by the grip, and the hand, finger, wrist, or the like may hit the instrument panel or the like. In addition, it is necessary to secure a wide space for moving the grip in the forward direction of the vehicle, and the design freedom of the instrument panel and the like is reduced. Therefore, in the present invention, the grip position adjusting means moves the grip not only in the forward direction of the vehicle but also in the direction approaching the central axis of the handle rotation shaft at the time of a vehicle collision, so that the hand holding the grip is easily detached from the grip. .
At the time of a vehicle collision, there is an airbag bag being deployed between the steering wheel and the driver's body. For this reason, when the grip moves in a direction approaching the center axis of the handle rotation axis, the airbag bag body prevents movement of the driver's hand (movement approaching the center axis of the handle rotation axis). Therefore, the driver's hand is easily removed from the grip. As a result, occupant protection performance can be improved. Further, since the grip moving space is narrowed, the degree of freedom in designing the driver's seat can be increased.
The steering wheel rotation shaft may be a steering shaft rotation shaft body such as a steering shaft. Further, the handle rotation shaft is directed in the vehicle front-rear direction, but is not necessarily horizontal, and may be inclined so as to be lower toward the front of the vehicle. In this case, the left and right grips may be moved in the vehicle forward direction in parallel with the axial direction of the handle rotation shaft, that is, moved obliquely downward in the front of the vehicle.
According to another aspect of the present invention, the handle base connected to the handle rotation shaft includes a support member supporting a left spoke having a left grip at a tip and a right spoke having a right grip at a tip, and the grip position The adjusting means includes an actuator for moving the support member in the vehicle forward direction relative to the vehicle body, and the grip rotates the handle between the left spoke and the right spoke as the support member moves in the vehicle forward direction. And a cam mechanism that swings so as to move in a direction approaching the central axis of the shaft.
In this invention, the support member which supports a left spoke and a right spoke on a handle base is provided. Grips (left grip and right grip) are provided at the ends of the left and right spokes, respectively. When the vehicle collides, deployment of the airbag bag body is started by the operation of the airbag deployment means, and the actuator is activated to move the support member in the forward direction of the vehicle body. As a result, the left and right grips also move in the forward direction of the vehicle. As the support member moves in the vehicle forward direction, the cam mechanism swings the right spoke and the left spoke so that the grip moves in a direction approaching the center axis of the handle rotation shaft. Accordingly, the left and right grips move not only in the front direction of the vehicle but also so as to approach the central axis of the handle rotation axis.
As a result, the grip can be moved in synchronism with the vehicle front direction and the direction approaching the central axis of the handle rotation shaft by a simple configuration of the actuator and the cam mechanism.
The operation of the airbag deployment means and the actuator can be performed by inputting a detection signal of a collision detection sensor that detects a vehicle collision.
Another feature of the present invention is that it includes grip tilting means for tilting the grip so that the front end side of the grip approaches the central axis of the handle rotation shaft at the time of a vehicle collision.
In this invention, the grip position adjusting means moves the grip in the forward direction of the vehicle and in the direction approaching the central axis of the handle rotation axis at the time of a vehicle collision. Tilt the grip so that it approaches the center axis. For this reason, it becomes easier for the driver's hand to come off the grip in the event of a vehicle collision.
Another feature of the present invention is that the grip tilting means tilts the grip before the grip moves in a direction approaching the central axis of the handle rotation shaft by the operation of the grip position adjusting means.
In the present invention, before the grip position adjusting means moves the grip (the entire grip) in a direction approaching the center axis of the handle rotation axis, the grip tilting means is activated so that the tip end side of the grip becomes the center axis of the handle rotation axis. Defeat the grip to get closer. For this reason, a driver | operator's hand can be made still easier to remove | deviate from a grip at the time of a vehicle collision. In addition, since the grip is tilted before the entire grip is moved in the direction approaching the central axis of the handle rotation shaft, a space necessary for the tilting operation can be secured, and the operation is ensured.
Another feature of the present invention is that the grip tilting means includes a connecting means for tiltably connecting the grip to the tip end of the spoke so that the tip end side of the grip approaches the center axis of the handle rotation shaft, and the grip A tilt force applying means for applying a tilt force; a tilt preventing member for preventing the tilting operation of the grip; and a force for moving the grip in the vehicle forward direction by the grip position adjusting means to move the tilt preventing member and There is provided an inclination prevention releasing means for releasing the function of the inclination prevention member.
In this invention, the connection means which connects a grip to the front-end | tip of a spoke is provided. The connecting means connects the grip so that the tip of the grip approaches the central axis of the handle rotation shaft and the grip can tilt. The grip is imparted with a tilting force in the direction in which the tip side approaches the central axis of the handle rotation shaft by the tilting force imparting means, but the tilting operation is prevented by the tilt preventing member in a normal state.
When the vehicle collides from this state, deployment of the airbag bag body is started by the operation of the airbag deployment means, and the grip position adjusting means moves each grip in the direction toward the front of the vehicle and in the direction approaching the center axis of the handle rotation shaft. Move. At this time, the tilt prevention releasing means moves the tilt prevention member using a force that moves the grip by the grip position adjusting means in the forward direction of the vehicle. As a result, the function of the tilt prevention member is released. Therefore, the grip falls to the center axis side of the handle rotation shaft. As a result, in the event of a vehicle collision, the driver's hand is more easily removed from the grip.
The spokes connect the handle base and the grip to which the handle rotation shaft is connected. For example, the spokes may be provided so as to extend radially outward from the handle base.
Another feature of the present invention is that a grip rotating means for rotating the grip around the grip axis at the time of a vehicle collision is provided.
In this invention, the grip position adjusting means moves the grip in the forward direction of the vehicle and in the direction approaching the central axis of the handle rotation axis at the time of a vehicle collision, and further, the grip rotation means is operated to rotate the grip around the grip axis. Let Therefore, it becomes easier for the driver's hand to come off the grip when the vehicle collides.
Another feature of the present invention is that the grip rotating means includes a connecting means for connecting the grip to the tip of the spoke so as to be rotatable about a grip axis, and a rotational force applying means for applying a rotational force around the axis to the grip. The rotation preventing member that prevents the rotation of the grip around the axis, and the function of the rotation preventing member is released by moving the rotation preventing member by a force that moves the grip forward by the grip position adjusting means. And an anti-rotation releasing means.
In this invention, the connection means which connects a grip to the front-end | tip of a spoke is provided. The connecting means connects the grip so that the grip can rotate around the grip axis. The grip is imparted with a rotational force around the grip axis by the rotational force imparting means, but in a normal time, the rotational movement is prevented by the rotation preventing member.

Move. At this time, the rotation prevention release means moves the rotation prevention member using a force that moves the grip by the grip position adjustment means in the forward direction of the vehicle. Thereby, the function of the rotation preventing member is released. Therefore, the grip rotates around the axis. As a result, in the event of a vehicle collision, the driver's hand is more easily removed from the grip.
The spokes connect the handle base and the grip to which the handle rotation shaft is connected. For example, the spokes may be provided so as to extend radially outward from the handle base.
Another feature of the present invention is that the rotational force applying means applies a rotational force around an axis to the grip by a force that moves the grip in the vehicle forward direction by the grip position adjusting means.
In the present invention, the rotational force applying means applies a rotational force around the axis when the vehicle collides. This rotational force is applied to a force that moves the grip in the vehicle forward direction by the grip position adjusting means. Therefore, the rotation around the axis of the grip and the movement in the forward direction of the vehicle can be linked with good timing.
Another feature of the present invention is that it comprises a connecting member for connecting the grip to the tip of the spoke, and a connection releasing means for releasing the connecting state between the spoke and the grip by the connecting member in the event of a vehicle collision. .
In this invention, the grip is connected to the tip of the spoke by the connecting member. Can be linked in a timely manner. Therefore, the grip can be satisfactorily separated from the spoke at the time of a vehicle collision. Therefore, the protection performance of the driver's hand is further improved.

The

The
In this embodiment, the grip 42 and the spoke 43 are integrally formed, but may be configured to connect separate parts. Further, the grip 42 is preferably formed with a recess or the like in the elastic cover 45 so as to be easily gripped. In the drawing, the cored bar 44 and the elastic cover 45 are omitted as appropriate for easy understanding.
As shown in FIG. 3, the

The

The

As shown in FIG. 3, the
The

Next, the operation of the steering operation device of the present embodiment will be described.
<Normal time when the vehicle is not colliding>
In normal times, the

<At the time of vehicle collision>
When the vehicle collides, a collision detection signal is output from the collision sensor (not shown) to the
The
Before the
Since the left and right handle members 40 are connected to the
In the present embodiment, the steering
When the
However, when the
As a result, the left and right grips 42 move in the forward direction of the vehicle and in the direction approaching the central axis SCL of the
Similarly, in the
Then, the left and right handle members 40 go straight as the
The cam mechanism of the present invention swings the left and
According to the steering operation device of the first embodiment described above, the following operational effects are obtained.
During normal times when the vehicle is not colliding, the handle member 40 is firmly connected to the
When the vehicle collides, the
For example, in the case of a collision in a straight traveling state, the support reaction force is smaller than the left and right portions with the grip 42 because there is no portion for receiving the
Therefore, in the steering operation device of the present embodiment, the position of the grip 42 is moved in the forward direction of the vehicle so that the
The grip 42 moves in the direction approaching the central axis SCL of the
When the grip 42 is moved in the forward direction of the vehicle, the driver's hand may be pulled by the grip 42 and the hand, finger, wrist, or the like may hit an instrument panel (not shown). Moreover, it is necessary to secure a wide space for the grip 42 to move in the vehicle front direction, and the degree of freedom in designing the instrument panel and the like is reduced. Therefore, in the present embodiment, in the process of moving the grip 42 in the forward direction of the vehicle, the hand gripped by the driver can be easily detached from the grip 42 by moving the grip 42 toward the center of the handle.
In the event of a vehicle collision, the
Next, a steering operation device according to a second embodiment will be described with reference to FIGS. The steering operation device according to the second embodiment not only moves the grip toward the front of the vehicle and the handle center side in the event of a vehicle collision, but also grips the grip so that the tip end side of the grip approaches the center axis SCL of the
The steering operation device according to the second embodiment includes a

Next, the left and right handle members 400 will be described. FIG. 17 shows the structure of the
The spoke 43 has a grip connecting portion 440 with its tip end bent upward. The grip connecting portion 440 includes a grip substrate 441 that is fixed to the tip of the spoke 43, and an outer bracket 442 that is erected and fixed on the grip substrate 441. The outer bracket 442 is a frame having a “U” shape when viewed from above, and does not have an upper surface, a bottom surface, or a left side surface. Moreover, the lower part of the right side surface is cut away. The bottom of the outer bracket 442 is joined to the upper surface of the grip board 441 by welding or the like.
Inside the outer bracket 442, the lower end portion of the grip core 431 is mounted in the vertical direction. The grip core 431 constitutes a core metal of the grip 420. The grip core 431 is inserted into the outer bracket 442 at the base end portion with the grip core bracket 443 interposed. Similarly to the outer bracket 442, the grip core bracket 443 is a frame body having a “U” shape when viewed from above. A support shaft 444 is provided to penetrate the grip core 431, the grip core bracket 443, and the outer bracket 442 in the vehicle front-rear direction. Accordingly, the grip core 431 fitted with the grip core bracket 443 can swing in the counterclockwise direction (clockwise in the case of the left handle member) with respect to the outer bracket 442 around the support shaft 444 as a rotation center. It has become.
Furthermore, the grip connecting portion 440 is urged so that the grip core 431 swings toward the handle center with the support shaft 444 as the rotation center, that is, the tip end side of the grip core 431 approaches the center axis SCL of the
The grip connecting portion 440 includes a swing restriction pin 445 that restricts the swing of the grip core 431 during normal operation. The swing restricting pin 445 is provided on the left side (the handle center side) of the grip core 431 so as to penetrate the plate surfaces of the grip core bracket 443 and the outer bracket 442 in the vehicle front-rear direction. In this case, the grip core 431 is provided with an abutting member 446 at a portion that abuts against the rocking restriction pin 445 so that the rocking restriction by the rocking restriction pin 445 is favorably performed.

The periphery of the grip connecting portion 440 is covered with a resin cover 448. The cover 448 is formed with a thin portion (not shown) at an appropriate location so as to break when the grip 420 receives a force that swings toward the center of the handle.
The grip 420 includes a grip core 431 extending upward from the grip connecting portion 440 and an elastic cover 432 made of a synthetic resin that covers the surface of the grip core 431. The grip 420 is a straight rod-like body, but may be formed in an arc shape as in the first embodiment.
Next, the operation of the steering operation device according to the second embodiment will be described.
<Normal time when the vehicle is not colliding>
In normal times, the
<At the time of vehicle collision>
When the vehicle collides, a collision detection signal is output from the collision sensor (not shown) to the
The
On the other hand, as the
The tilting operation of the grip 420 is performed before the entire grip 420 moves toward the handle center side, that is, before the handle member 400 starts to swing around the
If the driver is gripping the grip 420 when the
In the second embodiment, the support shaft 444, the outer bracket 442, and the grip core bracket 443 correspond to the connecting means of the present invention, the spring 447 corresponds to the tilting force applying means of the present invention, and the swing restricting pin 445 is provided.
Next, a steering operation device according to a third embodiment will be described with reference to FIGS. The steering operation device according to the third embodiment not only moves the grip toward the front of the vehicle and toward the center of the steering wheel in the event of a vehicle collision, but further rotates the grip around the grip axis. Instead of the grip connecting portion 440 and the grip 420 in the operating device, a grip connecting portion 540 and a grip 520 are provided, and other configurations are the same as those of the second embodiment. Hereinafter, parts different from the second embodiment will be described. Further, FIG. 18 shows the

The grip 520 includes a collar 543 extending upward from the grip connecting portion 440 as a grip core, and is configured by covering the surface of the collar 543 with an elastic cover 521 made of a synthetic resin. The elastic cover 521 is integrally provided so as not to rotate relative to the collar 543. Although the collar 543 is formed in a hollow shape, the hollow portion may not be formed by extending the spoke 43 to the tip of the collar 543. Further, the shape of the grip 520 may be an arc shape as in the first embodiment.
Next, the operation of the steering operation device according to the third embodiment will be described.
<Normal time when the vehicle is not colliding>
In normal times, the
<At the time of vehicle collision>
When the vehicle collides, as in the first and second embodiments, the
At this time, the
When the rotation restricting pin 546 comes out of the main wall 542a of the

Next, a steering operation device according to a fourth embodiment will be described with reference to FIG. The steering operation device of the fourth embodiment not only moves the grip toward the front of the vehicle and the center of the steering wheel in the event of a vehicle collision, but also releases the connection state between the grip and the spoke. A grip connecting portion 640 and a grip 620 are provided instead of the grip connecting portion 440 and the grip 420 in the steering operation device, and other configurations are the same as those of the second embodiment. Hereinafter, parts different from the second embodiment will be described. 20 shows the
The grip connecting portion 640 includes a grip board 641 provided at the tip of the spoke 43 and a bracket 642 fixed on the grip board 641. The grip substrate 641 is a plate-like body, and is fixed to the tip of the spoke 43 with the plate surface oriented horizontally. The bracket 642 is a rectangular cylindrical body having a grip core storage chamber 642a formed therein, and the right side (the vehicle width direction outer side) is opened. One end of the grip core 643 is inserted into the grip core storage chamber 642a of the bracket 642.
The grip core 643 is bent in an L shape at the base end, and is inserted into the grip core storage chamber 642a horizontally from the outside in the vehicle width direction toward the center of the handle. The grip core storage chamber 642a forms a space having the same shape as the base end portion of the grip core 643, and supports the grip core 643 in the vertical direction when the grip core 643 is inserted. The bracket 642 and the grip core 643 are formed with through holes formed in the vehicle front-rear direction, and the connection pins 644 are inserted into the through holes from the vehicle front side toward the driver seat side. As a result, the grip core 643 is connected to the spoke 43 via the bracket 642. In addition, in FIG. 20, since a through-hole becomes the same as the outer periphery shape (circle) of the connection pin 644, illustration is abbreviate | omitted.
A spring 645 is attached to firmly fix the grip core 643 to the bracket 642. The spring 645 is formed by winding an intermediate portion of a spring wire around the connecting pin 644, one end locked to the upper surface of the bracket 642, and the other end locked to the outer peripheral lower surface extending horizontally of the grip core 643.
The
The periphery of the grip connecting portion 640 is covered with a resin cover 645. The cover 645 is formed with a thin portion (not shown) at an appropriate location so as to break when the grip core 643 is detached from the bracket 642 and receives external force from the grip core 643.
The grip 620 is configured by covering the surface of a grip core 643 extending upward from the grip connecting portion 640 with an elastic cover 621 made of synthetic resin. The grip 620 is a straight bar-like body, but may be formed in an arc shape as in the first embodiment.
Next, the operation of the steering operation device according to the fourth embodiment will be described.
<Normal time when the vehicle is not colliding>
In normal times, the
<At the time of vehicle collision>
When the vehicle collides, as in the first to third embodiments, the
At this time, the
This connection release operation is performed at the beginning of the movement of the
If the driver holds the grip 620 at the time of a vehicle collision, the hand is drawn forward by the forward movement of the grip 620. As the grip 620 moves forward, the grip 620 also moves to the center side of the handle. At this time, the
As a result, the driver's hand can be well protected. Further, since the connection state between the grip 620 and the spoke 43 is released by using the movement of the
In the fourth embodiment, the bracket 642 and the connection pin 644 correspond to the connection means of the present invention, and the

In this embodiment, the present invention is applied to a vehicle steering apparatus in which left and right front wheels are mechanically connected to a steering shaft.
