Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a control device for an internal combustion engine that performs compression ignition, and in particular, controls the fuel injection amount in pilot injection executed before main fuel injection in accordance with the temperature of an air-fuel mixture before ignition in a cylinder. About.
The ignitability of the fuel at low temperatures (immediately after cold start) or in a low load operation state immediately after the start of the internal combustion engine that performs compression ignition depends on the compression end temperature, and is suitable for the high load operation state in the above-described conventional apparatus. If this control is applied as it is, there is a possibility that the ignitability of the fuel is deteriorated.
The present invention has been made paying attention to this point, and is an internal combustion engine capable of appropriately controlling the fuel injection amount in pilot injection and obtaining stable ignitability particularly at low temperature or low load operation of the engine. An object is to provide a control device.
In order to achieve the above object, according to a first aspect of the present invention, there is provided a control device for an internal combustion engine (1) comprising fuel injection means (6) for injecting fuel into a combustion chamber, wherein a compression end temperature (TCMP) in the combustion chamber is provided. ), A target compression end temperature setting means for setting a target compression end temperature (TCMPCMD), which is a target value of the compression end temperature, according to the operating state of the engine, and the fuel injection Fuel injection control means for executing main injection (INJM) by means and pilot injection (INJP1, INJP2) prior to the main injection, the fuel injection control means having an estimated compression end temperature (TCME) Is characterized in that the fuel injection amount (QIP2) in the pilot injection is controlled so as to match the target compression end temperature (TCMPCMD).
According to a second aspect of the present invention, in the control device for an internal combustion engine according to the first aspect, the fuel injection control means executes the pilot injection a plurality of times, and the first pilot injection among the plurality of pilot injections The fuel injection amount (QIP2) in (INJP2) is controlled according to the estimated compression end temperature (TCMPE).
According to a third aspect of the present invention, in the control apparatus for an internal combustion engine according to the first or second aspect, the cylinder pressure sensor (2) for detecting a pressure (PCYL) in the combustion chamber is further provided, and the compression end temperature estimation is performed. In the control apparatus for an internal combustion engine according to
According to the first aspect of the present invention, the fuel injection amount in the pilot injection is controlled so that the estimated compression end temperature coincides with the target compression end temperature set according to the engine operating state. The compression end temperature tends to become higher as the fuel injection amount in the pilot injection is increased. By controlling the pilot injection amount so that the estimated compression end temperature matches the target compression end temperature, an appropriate compression end temperature is obtained. The temperature can be secured, and stable ignitability can be obtained at low temperature or low load operation of the engine.
According to the second aspect of the present invention, the first pilot injection among the plurality of pilot injections is performed such that the plurality of pilot injections are performed before the main injection and the estimated compression end temperature matches the target compression end temperature. The fuel injection amount in the pilot injection is controlled. The compression end temperature tends to vary particularly depending on the fuel injection amount in the first pilot injection. By controlling the initial pilot injection amount in accordance with the estimated compression end temperature, an appropriate compression end temperature is obtained. Secured and stable ignitability can be obtained.
According to the third aspect of the invention, since the compression end temperature is estimated according to the pressure detected by the in-cylinder pressure sensor, more accurate estimation is performed as compared with a method for estimating according to the intake air temperature, for example. be able to.

ECU4は、増幅器10と、A/D変換部11と、パルス生成部13と、CPU(Central Processing Unit)14と、CPU14で実行されるプログラムを格納するROM(Read Only Memory)15と、CPU14が演算結果などを格納するRAM(Random Access Memory)16と、入力回路17と、出力回路18とを備えている。
The ECU 4 includes an

The
In the present embodiment, in order to ensure combustion stability, pilot injection is executed twice before the main injection of fuel by the
For example, the main injection INJM is executed substantially at the compression top dead center (CA = 0), and the first pilot injection INJP1 is executed at a timing of about 13 degrees (CA = −13) before the top dead center. INJP2 is executed at a timing of about 20 degrees (CA = −20) before top dead center. In addition, when the pilot injection amount QIP in the single pilot injection mode is about 4 mg per injection, the first pilot injection amount QIP1 and the second pilot injection amount QIP2 in the double pilot injection mode are each about 2 mg.
FIG. 4 is a time chart showing the transition of the heat generation rate ROHR. The solid line L1 and the broken line L2 in this figure correspond to examples in which the pilot injection amount is 4 mg and 6 mg in the single pilot injection mode, respectively, and the alternate long and short dash line L3 is the first pilot injection amount QIP1 and the second pilot injection amount in the double pilot injection mode This corresponds to an example in which both QIP2 are 2 mg (4 mg in total). FIG. 4B is an enlarged view of the vicinity of the compression top dead center (CA = 0 deg) of FIG.
From FIG. 4, in the single pilot injection mode, the ignition timing CAIGSP where the heat generation rate ROHR begins to increase corresponding to the pilot injection hardly changes even if the pilot injection amount is changed, whereas in the double pilot injection mode. It can be confirmed that the ignition timing CAIGDP is advanced from the ignition timing CAIGSP.
FIG. 5 is a time chart showing the transition of the in-cylinder temperature TCYL. The solid line L4 and the broken line L5 in this figure correspond to examples in which the pilot injection amount is 4 mg and 6 mg in the single pilot injection mode, respectively, and the alternate long and short dash line L6 is the first pilot injection amount QIP1 and the second pilot injection amount in the double pilot injection mode This corresponds to an example in which both QIP2 are 2 mg (4 mg in total). FIG. 5B is an enlarged view of the vicinity of the compression top dead center (CA = 0 deg) of FIG.
As is apparent from FIG. 5, the in-cylinder temperature at the compression top dead center, that is, the compression end temperature TCMP, is higher in the double pilot injection mode than in the single pilot injection mode. Therefore, it can be confirmed that the ignition timing CAIGDP in the double pilot injection mode is earlier than the ignition timing CAIGSP in the single pilot injection mode because the compression end temperature TCMP becomes higher.
FIG. 6 is a diagram showing the relationship between the second pilot injection amount QIP2 and the compression end temperature TCMP. When the second pilot injection amount QIP2 is increased, the compression end temperature TCMP increases. Therefore, in the double pilot injection mode, the compression end temperature TCMP can be controlled by changing the second pilot injection amount QIP2.
Therefore, in the present embodiment, the target compression end temperature TCMPCMD is set in accordance with the engine operating state, and feedback control is performed so that the estimated compression end temperature TCMPE estimated based on the engine operating state matches the target compression end temperature TCMPCMD. Do. Thereby, the actual compression end temperature TCMP can be appropriately controlled, and stable ignitability can be obtained.

TCMPE=KC×PCYL0×VCYL0/(GT0×R0) (1)
The estimated compression
TCMPE = KC × PCYL0 × VCYL0 / (GT0 × R0) (1)
Here, KC is a constant set to a predetermined value, VCYL0 is the in-cylinder volume at the compression top dead center, GT0 is the weight of all the gas present in the cylinder [kg / cycle], and R0 is the corrected gas constant.
GT0=GAW+GR (2)
The total gas weight GT0 is the sum of the intake fresh air weight GAW [kg / cycle] and the residual gas weight GR [kg / cycle] in the cylinder, as shown by the following formula (2). It is obtained by integrating the intake air flow rate GA.
GT0 = GAW + GR (2)
R0=R−(0.14/λAV) (5)
λAV=Gab/(Thair×Grb) (6)
The corrected gas constant R0 of the formula (1) is calculated by the following formula (5). R in the equation (5) is a gas constant, and λAV is an average excess air ratio calculated by the following equation (6).
R0 = R− (0.14 / λAV) (5)
λAV = Gab / (Tair × Grb) (6)
Gab=Ga+Gr×(1−Gf/Ga) (7)
Grb=Gr×Gf/Ga (8)
Gab in equation (6) is the corrected air weight calculated by the following equation (7), Grb is the corrected residual gas weight calculated by the following equation (8), and Tair is the theoretical air amount (= 14.512). ).
Gab = Ga + Gr × (1−Gf / Ga) (7)
Grb = Gr × Gf / Ga (8)
Here, Gf is the weight of fuel injected per cycle [kg / cycle], and corresponds to the total injection amount QIT in this embodiment.

As described above, in the present embodiment, the second pilot injection amount QIP2 is controlled so that the estimated compression end temperature TCME matches the target compression end temperature TCMPCMD set according to the required torque TRQ and the engine speed NE. The Since the compression end temperature TCMP tends to increase as the second pilot injection amount QIP2, which is the first pilot injection, increases, the second pilot injection amount so that the estimated compression end temperature TCME matches the target compression end temperature TCMPCMD. By controlling QIP2, an appropriate compression end temperature can be secured and stable ignitability can be obtained.

TCMPE=TIN×εκ-1 (9)
The present invention is not limited to the embodiment described above, and various modifications can be made. For example, in the above-described embodiment, the estimated compression end temperature TCMPE is calculated according to the detected in-cylinder pressure PCYL, but may be calculated using the following equation (9).
TCMPE = TIN × ε κ-1 (9)
Here, ε is a compression ratio, κ is a polytropic index, and is calculated according to, for example, the intake air temperature TIN, the engine coolant temperature TW, and the engine speed NE.
Further, the estimated compression end temperature TCMPE may be calculated by the method disclosed in
In the above-described embodiment, the first pilot injection amount QIP1 is calculated using the first pilot injection amount map, but all pilot injections that are the sum of the first pilot injection amount QIP1 and the second pilot injection amount QIP2 are used. The amount QITP may be calculated according to the required torque TRQ and the engine speed NE, and the first pilot injection amount QIP1 may be calculated by subtracting the second pilot injection amount QIP2 from the total pilot injection amount QITP.
The present invention can also be applied to control of a marine vessel propulsion engine such as an outboard motor having a crankshaft as a vertical direction.
